    Really great...thank you so much. There are subtle differences between all of these but Laphroaig 25's are just the best bang for your buck under 500. Found this for 370 in NJ. Any plans to do a Laphroaig 18, 25, 27, 30, 32 comparison? That would be fun! Maybe throw an old Lore in there too.

    Enjoyed the video! Despite living in the boonies, a local stores has a 2015 Laphroaig 25 tempting me from the top shelf (right next to a Laphroaig 32!). How or why this podunk MD store has these delicious offerings is a mystery. Unfortunately they're priced like they aren't interested in actually selling them (either that or I'm just too cheap). The 2015 25 is $530 (+tax) and the 32 is $1320 (+tax).

    Mike - Q for you. I just bought my first Laphroaig 25 yesterday at Costco 3/11/22. These have been on the shelf at the store since December 2021. I cannot find a year statement anywhere on the bottle, or even a bottler's etch on the glass (my 10 years have the glass etch numbers, no clue what they mean). This 25 yr bottle is a 52%; I see your 2018 is also a 52%. I figured their product would be from 2020 or 2021 but have no idea. How can I tell?

    • @topshelfwhisky
      @topshelfwhisky  2 года назад

      Well first of off congratulations for buying an incredible bottle of whisky! Love this annual release. Well done sir
      If your bottle is 52% abv that is almost certainly the 2018, all bourbon. On the back of the label it should say matured in ex bourbon casks without the mention of Sherry. If that’s the case I will guarantee you it’s the 2018. And that’s a beautiful thing, 2018 is one of my favorite releases. It’s the oiliest 25 I’ve ever tasted and second overall only to the 2017 and n my opinion.
      We have the 2021 (all bourbon) post on a week or so. 😉

    • @topshelfwhisky
      @topshelfwhisky  2 года назад +1

      I believe they are all cask strength. I do remember 2014 and 2013 were in black boxes and same label. They were around 45.1% but again I believe that was cask strength.
      Normally the only difference in bottling years has is bourbon only or bourbon and sherry maturation.
