      Hi. Understanding basic accounting concepts is crucial before enrolling in the CMA program. While the CMA syllabus builds on these fundamentals, having a strong foundation will significantly enhance your comprehension and performance throughout the course. If you need to strengthen your basics, consider reviewing introductory accounting topics to better prepare for the CMA journey.

    • @Cmacoach
      @Cmacoach  2 года назад

      I would highly recommend taking accounting and finance classes in college to have a strong foundation for the CMA exam. These classes will provide you with a solid understanding of the financial and accounting concepts that are covered on the exam. Additionally, taking classes will help you develop the necessary skills and knowledge to analyze and interpret financial information, which will be essential when taking the CMA exam.
      It is also important to note that the CMA exam is widely considered to be challenging, so having a strong educational background in accounting and finance will give you an advantage when preparing for the exam. In addition to taking classes in college, you can also consider joining a student accounting or finance association, or participating in an internship or other hands-on experience in the field.

    • @Cmacoach
      @Cmacoach  Год назад

      Hi Sonja! You should remember that to obtain the CMA certification, you must meet specific educational requirements.
      CMA educational requirements can be fulfilled in two ways:
      1. Earn a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
      2. Have a professional certification
      Also, CMA does not require you to have a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. But your degree must come from a regionally accredited or Distancing Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) accredited university or college.
      If you don't have a bachelor’s degree, you can still qualify for the CMA certification requirements by holding a professional certification.
      You can learn more about all requirements here: cmaexamacademy.com/cma-certification-requirements/

    regarding the work experience. you said if your 60% of your courses are accounting and corporate financial management courses you meet the experience qualification. does that mean that there is no need to have a 2 years of work experience anymore?

    • @Cmacoach
      @Cmacoach  Год назад

      Hi. After passing both parts of the CMA exam, you will need two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting and/or financial management. This experience can be gained before or within 7 years of passing the exam. Part-time positions can also count towards this requirement as long as they amount to a full-time equivalent.

    I don't have an accounting degree. I study international studies as my undergrad degree. @Cmacoach  4 года назад +1

      Hi Hope! It's totally possible to get a management accounting job without an accounting degree. Many professionals make a career transition to accounting via the CMA designation. It's tougher for them to pass the exam compared to someone with an accounting degree of course, but not impossible.
      For folks who haven't had accounting exposure, my suggestion is to read an Accounting 101 textbook or guide to learn the basics. If you re-read your financial accounting and intro to managerial accounting textbooks, you'd be ready to tackle the CMA. Coaching support is going to be key for you since you'll need extra help to conquer the exam :)

    Hello sir my name is zion i am from New New Zealand i am planning to become CMA right now im in highschool year 11 i am 15 years old after that i am deciding wether to go for accounting or financial course in university to get a bachelor's degree which option will open more gates for me in the future.
    And also is it worth getting your master's after you bachelor's for getting higher paying jobs or higher positions.
    i would like to move to Australia once i finished my studies and after finishing my bachelor's while studying for my master's if its helpful should i try to apply for a job that will help me get things om a resume that people are looking for in a young man
    For the membership i am still in highschool a good 3 to 4 years when ill start my accounting to financial course given your opinion should i apply for one or should i apply for one at a certain age or and a certain point at my studies
    And also i was just wanting to know what is the difference between management accounting and financial accounting do you recommend me studying any books at my age of 15 and if so can you recommend me some
    thanks from zion

      Hi Fangz, I admire your determination to tackle the CMA at such a young age. Because the CMA is an advanced designation, my suggestion is to wait until you are in your third year of college to start preparing for the CMA exam. Once you get your bachelor's degree and pass both CMA exams, start applying for jobs to help you gain field experience.

    will it be hard to clear since im not from accounting background

    • @Cmacoach

      I suggest studying fundamentals of accounting first before jumping into the CMA straight away. Without any knowledge in accounting/finance, it''ll be too difficult to pass the exam.

    Hi Coach, I’m planning to take the challenge and go for a CMA qualification, I’m wondering if learning the part 1 for few months (4 - 6 months) then take the 1st exam, then go to part 2, learn for few months (4-6) and then take the 2nd exam. Doing this you have less information to process and thus perform better in the exam. Is this a good strategy, or should I go 10-12 months on both parts and then try to take the exams?

    • @Cmacoach
      @Cmacoach  4 года назад

      Hi Lulian, I like where your heads at. Tackling one part at a time is the best approach. 4 months per part is the sweet spot in my opinion.

      Hi Kal, in the event that there isn't a Prometric center in your city, please look for a center in another city that's the closest to you. You can still book your exam there but will require a bit of traveling on your part. In Europe for example, people travel to other countries to take the CMA exam when their country doesn't have Prometric centers.

      Hi Abdul, study as many hours as you need to learn the material. It's not about how many hours you study, although that's important. The true metric of success is knowing the subject matter proficiently. Aim for that as your primary goal.
