Except this M5 is nowhere near 850 horsepower. The owner definitely got scammed lol. This M5 is running just about the trap speeds of stock power 😂
Surprising how constant the non-performance Tesla is and how accurate the DRAGY is. I have a DRAGY that recorded an 11.79 1/4 mile for my 2022 Model Y Performance. So it's good to know how accurate that time is. And all that NOISE and no GO. Kind of feel sorry for those owners.
Race 1 and 2 and 3 BMW never fails to disappoint. In race 2 it had the move too.
…and the 4 motor Cybertruck. 😏😎
M5 is running stock or worse than stock times for having 850hp… something’s up here.
yeah evolve's m5 with 850hp runs high 130s trap speed.
@@dandylion1987 Exactly, mid 11s and 120s are stock times pretty much. With better DA, they run low 11s, high 10s stock.

>Fouled a plug during 1st burn out ?
Yeah, Brooks is still the king of rigged drag races 😂
The fact that this car makes consistent sub 11sec runs against cars that most feel would easily whoop it is nuff said. This car is eating vetts and bmw M5s like whateva. And like they said this is the “slow” one. thats how mutha Fin fast a Model S plaid is!
I can't see why the scoring system called the second race for the M5. The elapsed time was slower, the trap speed was slower, AND the Tesla timer tripped first. I slowed the video down to 1/4 speed and paused the video at 4:04 just as the left timer board (Tesla) flashes 10.93. The right side elapsed time (BMW) is still blank. The only reason it was close was Brooks' terrible reaction time. Still, impressive performance by the non-performance model against two supposed ICE performance cars.
Brooks was giving the m5 the hit each time. He is a seasoned racer, def not a slow reaction time.
Brooks said he was going to give him the hit.. they kind of knew the S was a bit faster and just wanted to give the bmw a closer race
It's simple ,M5 run slower ET but it moved first .it crossed the finish line before the Tesla so it won
@@derekk5992 No, the Tesla crossed first. Read my post again then go back and watch the race again at slow playback.
@@brownro214 just because the board lit up first doesn’t mean he crossed first. Look at the winner light above the et. That indicates who crossed first. Or look at the slip he took a picture of. Just do the math(or read the bottom), m5 crossed the line .01 seconds before. Brooks gave the m5 the hit.
All that noise just to get beat by the slow tesla. 😂
Tesla is a beauty and performace
Yeah, looks like a 2005 Mazda 6
The "slow" tesla are now beating most top performance cars, the irony :-)
a McLaren 600LT beats the shit out of it so...
@@gloriouscock2793 They were not at a racetrack so why bring that up, boy.
Add a "acceleration boost" and it would be a 911 991 Turbo S killer. 992, not quite.
Top performance cars = 10 year old RWD bimmer 😂
@@hasangenc2922 I’ve come to the conclusion that you’re a paid bot of big oil LOL
What a douche.
And yes, the BASE MODEL Tesla midsize sedan will accelerate quicker than most performance cars LOL. 60-130 in the high 7s will pull the majority of them
Wow and that's the slowest Model S Tesla makes.
Those Tesla's are silent assassins
So the quarter mile time for a stock 635hp CS is about 10.6s and this guy with his tuned 850hp CS gets 11.6s. 11.6s is almost a 10 % more than 10.6s so I call that tune a success! 🤣
Funny looking M6
Funny how much Tesla neuters the base model S LR so that there is a bigger discrepancy between it and the Plaid. If Tesla unlocked full power in the 0-60mph range, this car is comfortably doing 2.5-2.6 seconds including 1ft rollout and likely 10.25 @135mph or so. It would basically have an identical power curve to a P100D from 2018 from 0-60mph, except after 60mph it would hold the 670hp till top speed. If the non plaid motors have enough RPM this car should easily hit 210mph too. Thats like all the performance you could ever want lol
Last race the gt2 rs and f8 running the near exact trap speed and 1/4 mile time
Didn't even notice till I saw your post!
What am I missing on Race 2 with the M5? You gave that car the win, but you finished almost 3/10 faster.
M5 crossed the line first , brooks gave the m5 the hit, he mentioned he was going to do that in the beginning.
If Tesla didn’t neuter the LR off the line it’d be running mid 10’s
Still not bad at all for the “base” Model S!
indeed, a lot more potential with this car....
Agreed. There is a lot there. The car feels lethargic off the line compared to the 3 performance. The S doesn’t wake up until 30 mph.
It would be nice if Tesla offered a "acceleration boost" for it like they do for the dual motor M3. 😁
Not bad for “slow”
Ridiculous that this channel does not have a million subscribers.
What State of Charge was the Tesla at?
I have seen the LR run 10.68
Wow so the new car is basically as fast as my P100DL
faster
No way that M5 is 850hp. I'm guessing 560hp, by the track times it puts down.
More than that. Stock M5 Competition is running 627hp and putting down 10.6@130mph.

Tesla rules. Gas is history.
It's a tragedy. The quickest BMW available loses against the slowest Model S available.
It’s not a tragedy it’s progress
EV tech > ICE tech
That's not accurate at all
The quickest BMW does 10.6 with 635 hp that was not the fastest car bmw has
Thats a 10 years old rwd m5, i got to get used to hear tesla fanboys saying nonsense things.
The top end of the Model S LR is impressive, thanks for doing this video Brooks!
I just love watching these Tesla family sedans beat the pants off the ICE hot rods!
My Model 3 SR+ would get smoked by the hot rods. But off the green lights in town, and without even trying, I get out far faster than everything else, 0 to 45. They’ll eventually overtake me (because I’m not interested in getting a speeding/reckless driving ticket). I’m fine with that.
Go Team Tesla!!!
You must be super fun at the parties..
You seem to not really understand racing very well
Dang, m5 guy calculated all the HP advertised on the back of the box on his parts..
The S does it so effortlessly as the other two scream for their lives 🤣
It's amazing how much practicality, comfort, and room you lose for the privilege of looking like a mid-life crisis. (Z06)
How does an 850 car only get into the 11's? We had a 750hp Buick Turbo Regal that got into the mid 10's.
Stock 850hp gt500 and 800hp hellcats all do 11's. Only way to get them faster is with drag tires.
@@larryc1616 Jeez... we ran that Regal on street tires because we could use the stock diff without breaking it. We tried slicks and had to get towed off the track. :)
M5 weights like 1000lbs more then the old turbo regal
@@derekk5992 Makes sense then.
Cuz it’s nowhere near 850 horsepower and all that’s done to this M5 is probably some bs piggyback tune with exhaust that hardly did shit. This f10 M5 is trapping damn near what a stock F10 M5 comp traps…
The drag race monsters 👹
Lots of Tesla haters will jump for joy the day (any) other manufacturer builds a faster car. 🤣
What's your point?
EV haters.
@@omarionbayley9721 Tesla has rewritten the rules of drag racing. Never in my life did I think I would see a car run low nine second quarter miles and still get over 100 miles to the gallon (equivalent). Electric tech is in its infancy, lots of good things yet to come.
@@TheMadmax0609 I know right and that's why I love tesla and also the company but some people wouldnt understand and i think soon electric cars gonna be the thing other than polluting the atmospheric with those smoke.
Rimac already has. But it's a bit like saying a Chiron is faster than a BMW M5. While true, the super niche cars are more a dream than a realistic option. Even the 1% can't own that car, you have to be in the 0.1% club. Tesla has no competition below a half mil.
More MS LR videos! That thing is a beast.
Guy in the Z06 sleeping on the tree🤦🏻♂️
Love seeing the gap between the model s and z06 increase every time the z06 shifts. Another huge advantage of the no trans tesla.
So your saying the Tesla has less drama?
The money you pay for the Beemer’s competition model only to be trounced three in a row (middle one was still a win) by the non sports model Tesla, would be kind of depressing! To say the least!
LMAO….Man and to think this models S car is as of today under 80K and is not build with a ton of “stuff” under the hood, modded out in any way and is meant as a LUXURY sedan , not in a M6 and Corvette vine of competition and it is not only holding it own , It is beating these suped up cars!!!…This car is aimed at S class Mercedes, Lexus LS500, 750i BMWs, and none of those can even keep pace with it,,,we MUST pull out Covettes and M6s suped up n modded to even race this thing. And once Someone pulls out the “Suped up” version of the Model S …ITS FREAKIN GOOD NIGHT TO ALL OTHERS. Get a can of Whoop Ass on your drive Out! Just amazing….just for that this thing deserves upmost respect. When its “regular version” is racing Corvettes and modded up M6s
The model 3 performance and Ev6 and model N are the future. On the unprepped street they hard to beat
Oh its just the C7 Z06 😩
Lol this M5 is definitely not 850 hp. Let's say that's flywheel so to the wheels somewhere like mid to high 700's rwhp. Pure Turbo M5's stage 1 dyno like mid 700's and trap high 130's to low 140's.
If they could add launch control to the LR it could make it a solid cheaper alternative to the plaid…
It has "Drag Strip Mode" just like the Plaid
It would be nice if Tesla would offer a performance boost on the LR.

It’s fucking hilarious that this now the “slow” Model S 😅. I can’t wait for Tesla Roadster 2.0!!
Keep waiting year after year after year. Btw a relatively new 2019+ M5 Comp will beat this Trashla, stock. They’re racing the older and heavier RWD model.
@Unknown I’m not comparing plaid 1/4 mile times. I’m comparing this model s to latest m5 comp which runs sub 11’s and they are about the same price. Plaid is over $30k more. Plaid normally runs 9.3-9.4 btw so not quite 2 seconds. Furthermore, you can actually tune the M5, a stage two tune will get them close to the 9’s. Now let’s talk about build quality, luxury, sound, and it’s not even close. Tes-nah.
@Unknown talk about shifting the debate. The video is not a plaid. I did not bring up the plaid until you for some reason did? I’m comparing apples to apples. A new model S performance and new m5 comp are about the same price. The only place that Trashla beats the M5 is at the strip and barely. It makes perfect sense why you don’t want me to bring up anything else, because that Trashla Model S performance doesn’t compare too well. Initial quality, fit, finish, appointments, mod-ability. These are facts. No matter what you say.
@Unknown What's up with you Tesla fanboys?
@@Bimmer_Bill 10.8 quarter mile is Taycan Turbo fast. 0-130 mph is actually quicker than Taycan. Don't see you saying that for the Porsche. Or, is this because it's a Tesla?
A long range Model 3 is faster than that Beamer lol
In my opinion modern electric cars are starting to kill drag racing. No more skill or building is required anymore. Won`t be surprised if Tesla made a autopilot drag mode.
But Teslas/EV’s aren’t built to be drag racing cars. They are built for efficiency and no matter where you run them they seem to do well. The auto industry is slowly changing and can’t really be compared to what we were used to. That’s life to be honest.
@@ChosenMJ Of course EVs in general are better in a lot of different areas. But I am talking only about drag racing here as a sport. Electric cars are easy to drive and easy to run insane numbers. Its like watching robots play sports and never making any mistakes or skill difference between players.
No more skill or building takes a lot of fun out of it, and autopilot drag racing would be extremely boring
Driving a EV is like banging a real doll, no movement, no sound , no heat and no smell and your are done in 4 sec :-) but i would really want a S model as my daily drive - they are the only Tesla model which are looking very good .
That LR has more top-end pull than the P100D/Performance. Are they using the carbon-wrapped IPM-SynRM motors on the LR, too?
I believe so but the LR has a taller final drive.
No, the carbon sleeved motors at this point are reserved for the Plaid only.
That poor RWD BMW has terrible traction, to say the least. Same with Z06. Not unexpected really.
Z06 had a better 60 then the tesla. 🤷♂️. Traction didn’t seem like an issue
@@SN-fl1qy Its all relative. For sure the BMW struggled more of the ICE cars.
Tesla can do 1.5 seconds 60 foot easily, but power is heavily nerfed from launch in this model. Its actually nerfed even in the Plaid with its 1.5 it seems.
Z06 on the other hand have to hold back a bit because of lack of grip, just about every RWD street tire car do.
The //MopedPower sounds terrible haha
The corvette just gave up...
Why was the second run awarded to M5?
are you sure that the m5 has 850 forces? ridiculous output speed for such power
No..the force is not with that Bimmer
How did the Tesla lose the second race?? I'm not understanding how they judge the times based off who gets the hit
Look at the bulb on top of the et board. Whoever crosses the line first gets the win
Another 5-0 victory to Tesla. It is getting a bit trivial. How about the new Model Y AWD from Giga Texas against a stock M5 or S5 in a 1/8 mile race?

Does anyone know if the Long Range Model S / X has the option to upgrade their software to get "Acceleration Boost" like the Model 3 / Y?
I highly doubt it is going to ever happen. You are cutting down 0.5 secs off of the 0-60 time, that will push it close to plaid and will butt hurt the plaid buyers
@@sakethmanupati They said the same thing about the Model 3 Performance buyers and they did it anyways. Besides, an acceleration boosted Dual Motor will still not be as fast as a Triple Motor Plaid.

Not really fair a single gear Tesla against a manual Z06! If it was automatic I think the Z06 could take the tesla. Still very cool to see some Z06 content though, it is a beast of a car.....
Similar output though with the LR having 670hp. I mean is it fair to slap a drag radial tire, 300hp and gut a car to run against a stock EV? Sound familiar?
Did that bone stock Z06 not beat the Tesla in the first race 10.937 to Tesla's 10.981? Why was the point given to the Tesla?
