I'm about to buy one for my sister that really needs a car. Found a 1998 model for $1000 with 139k miles, engine and transmission look good. Issues: A/C only works at times, and power windows don't work, except for the driver's. Should give me enough room to spend some money on getting those things done and still be a good deal

I have a 2001 buick century limited with theLight Sandrift Metallic 220c paint. Bought at 56k with a coolant leak. Timing cover gasket failure. Repaired that and the headgasket (misdiagnosed) . The power steering pump failed, 1 window regulator broke, and one speaker blew. Ive fixed everything. The tranny shifts a little weird from time to time but otherwise it is a smooth ride and comfortable car. Does anyone follow the gm oil change light? It says in the manual its based on engine revolutions and the car can go 1 year without oilchanges under the right circumstances.?

I have the same car, same year and same colour. It's my first car, and I intend on keeping it as long as it runs. Of course, we got it from elderly people, which comes as no surprise. Mine's in perfect condition and has the same options that this one has. I got a custom deck for mine recently. The reason was because the tape deck in mine died (that's how I played my phone's music on it, you can get a tape that connects to 3.5mm headphone jack) and I didn't want to rely on the crappy radio stations.

I LOVE MY 2000 BUICK CENTURY. I CONSISTENTLY GET 27 TO 28 MPG. IT TURNS VERY SHARP, "ON A DIME". VERY DEPENDABLE, CHEAP TO FIX. SEATS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE. IF YOU HAVE THE HARD SHIFT PROBLEM, HERE IS WHY AND HOW TO FIX FOR CHEAP. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GET HOT, THENTHE SOLONIDE GETS STUCK. THEREFORE, YOU NEED TO KEEP IT COOLED. THE FIX, JUST REPLACE THE STOCK RADIATOR WITH AN AFTERMARKET TRIPLE CORE ALL ALUM, AND WHEN DRIVING KEEP THE SPEED 40 MPH AND OVER FOR AIR FLOW.

IT IS A GOOD CAR. YES, YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS. BUT, IF YOU DO IT YOUR SELF, IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE. JUST REMEMBER TO FLUSH THE COOLANT AND REPLACE WITH THE GREEN COOLANT. YOU CAN ALSO REPLACE THE TRANS FLUID AND USE LUCAS. ALSO, REPLACE THE STOCK RADIATOR WITH A TRIPLE CORE ALUM TO REDUCES HEAT. THIS WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE HARD SHIFT PROBLEM, AND KEEP THE SPEED 40 MPH OR MORE TO KEEP IT COOL. ENJOY 27 TO 28 MPG!@@fordmustang98guy

My cousin has a 2004 Buick century. It's has almost 200 000 km but unfortunately it's rusted out so much. The body of the car has rusted out so much that the mechanic said to her that he might mot be able to an oil change the nexttime the car is due for one because the frame of the car has so much rust in it. The engine on it still runs good on it but the only problem is that the body of the car has so much rust in it. If it didn't have that much rust on it, the car would of still been drive able for long distance road trips. It can still drive within the city. Just not long distance because there is so much rust on the car.

I have an 04 Limited... It is so outdated compared to the competition. (I bought it used in 07) A 3.1L V6 with only 175hp? 4 cylinder Accords, Altimas, Camrys, etc made the same power or more. The interior is bland, the gauge cluster is outdated and lacks alot of motor indicators and does not have RPMs. The speakers are paper thin and sound terrible. The window motors are of poor quality and constantly need to be repaired. The car is still running with 138k miles (2019) with occasional transmisson jerks when shifting gears. The leather seats are the only good quality of the interior cause the rest is made of cheap plastic that easily breaks or cracks, especially the door panels. If I could go back, I would have bought a japanese competitor. This car virtually did not change when it first debuted this body style in 97 and lost options like sunroof, digital climate control, etc. It is no wonder why the century was discontinued in 05.

I think because of its ride comfort being very soft and smooth. Good for older people's frail bodies. It is very quiet and pleasant to drive. It has average performance, not being too sluggish while not being super fast. It is really good for cruising or highway travel. Around turns and cornering, it leans like a boat and is very floaty. I think it is a good car for the average driver.
