I feel like people are missing the fact that Scottie went home to Texas with a felony court arraignment the next day. I think that’s the point the prosecution was trying to make. If it was a regular guy and not Scottie, we would be getting fried right now.
The prosecutor argued to not move the arrangement date using court cases for in person arrangements. Listen to the judge, she clearly stated that she ask everyone's counsel if the arrangement date works for them and their clients. She also ruled to move the arrangement, so that should show you it wasn't about Scottie leaving town.
