As an American, I'd like to apologize for our crass celebrities making fun of Catherine. It's not ok. We would never make fun of a family member like this. It's horrifying. Love the broadcasts. I always grab a cup of hot cocoa and sit down for a good chat with you!
Any Celebrity or person who makes fun of someone that has been recovering from surgery is disgusting and needs to be forgotten, that just shows how ignorant they are.
Why are Americans in particular so gullible when it comes to ridiculous, cruel and salacious conspiracy about Catherine? Why do your people treat the BRF as targets for entertainment or sport.

I think the hater envy her ability to still blossom through the darkness. She has allowed the public to know that she will be having an operation, has been told to rest until after Easter & presented a Mothers Day photo. Everything she does is with grace & respect. Thank goodness she has not only her strong family support but also the RF. However, I am rather alarmed but understand why the RF haven’t hit out at the vile remarks about her & William. The RF can’t bat off & really shouldn’t, so a storm in a teacup. In a few months there will be something else the oddballs will sink their teeth into.
My dad fought in Korea. He was 20 when he went to war. He died 4 years ago at the age of 90. He was almost mortally injured by a mortar shell whilst fighting over there. He was picked up & sent to a MASH unit as it was thought he was American as he was wearing a US Army coat due to the fact they were warmer than the coats issued by the British Army. He was eventually shipped home to England. He became a Nurse. My dad was also a very well known model maker of ships. This is how he has a connection to the Royal Family since he was commissioned on two ocassions to make ship models for her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. These, as far as I know, are now part of the Royal Collection. I am immensely proud of the man my dad was. He served his country, he helped countless people as a nurse and he represented his country at internation level with his model ships. In addition he was one of the nicest people you could know and never ever complained and certainly, as a nurse, didn't feel he should be given a tip!

Hi, My Dad also made model ships. He had been a carpenter, spent his life building houses and schools, then retired and built model ships. He passed away at 90 years and I have one of his ships, the Couronne. Marvellous! Greetings. We are in Australia. 🦘❤

How lovely you have one of his models. What type of ships did your dad build? My dad built 1:92 scale scratch built waterline models. Mainly, but not exclusively warships. I have 3 of my dad's models; HMS Aurora, HMS Valarian & HMS Kent.
Does anyone else find it utterly baffling this OTT fuss about Catherine’s edited photos, like she’s the only one who’s done it? My mind is well and truly boggled.
I cannot understand the fuss. It’s a sad indictment of today’s society. Photo editing is rife in all walks of life and everyone knows it. So why the brouhaha? Princess Catherine made a few tiny alterations to a photo - big deal! Absolutely everyone does it.

It’s because Catherine takes the pictures. She keeps the copyright as a result, so they can’t be sold on for profit or altered by the media. There is also the fact that she’s only an amateur photographer, so the professional photographers noses are pushed out of joint, as they can’t take these photos to sell, use in portfolios, or as part of their networking.
Personally I don’t look for the errors in a photo, I much prefer to look at the subject matter. The photo she produced wasn’t perfect in editing, but it was still a lovely family photo for Mother’s Day.

Yes ma’am. I am a nurse because I was called to nursing. This is where God wants me to be. And if I feel like I have truly helped at least one patient or family each shift, I consider it a shift well spent! Our cosy chats with River are one of my guilty pleasures! I hope he knows how much joy he brings to so many of us. 🥰
When I was a practicing RN, it was unethical to accept a tip, and could be grounds for discharge. Accepting money is a big no-no!

It is against every accepted form of nursing to accept "tips".
Nursing is an art and a science. Anyone who becomes a nurse strictly for the salary not only has questionable judgement, but usually doesn't last long. It is a violation of the Nurses Pledge, most Licensed Nursing Boards for a nurse to accept gratuities.
I'm a nurse and in the U.S. and to expect or demand a tip indicates you missed your calling and are in the wrong profession. We (nurses) are helping people at a very vulnerable time of life. Most nurses choose this position for that very reason, helping others. The hospitals where I was employed did not allow staff to receive tips/gifts. So tacky and unprofessional!
Entertainment is quite different and very acceptable even encouraged to receive tips. Entertainers entertain and it is a joyful and fun time. So if that made you happy use the tip jar or more.

I am an older lady 66 yrs old. My generation was taught to "Respect your elders." The new generations have not been taught how to respect their elder generation, nor have they been taught the proper social etiquette on how to address those of the gentry and titled Royalty. If they do not know how to address anyone in the normal world, ( even those in their own family)how can we expect any of them to act properly in public or in print?? Sad but true.

I watched Taz's video on the Catherine 'mystery'- she reminded the audience (& any mouth-breathing Sugars & whoever else)- that it was already stated where Catherine would be: recuperating until after Easter- an easy little weekend at a farm-shop is hardly climbing Everest - it's nothing nefarious; she's not missing - she's not in hiding - she's not in trouble.
Honestly- the stuff that's gone on recently is despicable, & frankly- the media owes her an apology -- as another poster said: she's a public figure, but she *isn't* public property!

Oh my goodness! I had no idea - I just had major surgery and it NEVER occurred to me that I should have tipped the many people in the operating theatre… I’m SO embarrassed - how incredibly rude of me. Of course, I had no pockets…. And given it was hip surgery, it was done in a closed sterile environment so I’m not sure they would allow me to bring in a stack of filthy tenners… Maybe I could have tucked a few in the lovely paper knickers they give you - wouldn’t that have been a surprise for the surgeon?

As someone who has contributed to Rivers tip jar a few times when I’ve had a little extra cash to spare, never have I ever felt like I was being coerced in any way, but do so in appreciation of River sharing a bit of himself with us fruit basketeers. I love seeing the things he finds in the different charity shops.
I love that River has a fun tip jar corner, there are a lot of people on RUclips that push products and their own merchandise and take up so much time just doing that. I love the content River puts out, it is such a refreshing change from the 'norm'. I wish this was the norm!

Thank you River for putting the Julie’s of the world in their place. I was a nurse for 12 years before I had to go on Disability. My Addison’s disease killed my career. I couldn’t lift people or deal with all of the stress anymore. I know what it is like to be a nurse, but oh my, that was so mean of her. I know a lot of work goes into these broadcasts. ❤ you River!

I wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks and mailed it in yesterday. On the 27th I will have an echo and stress test. I’m so swollen all over my body that I can’t get around good. They have me on a high dose of diuretics and the fluid will not go away. It’s hard to walk and my shoes don’t fit so I have to wear slippers everywhere. The steroids kills your bones and I have had so many surgeries it’s unimaginable. I’m 47 and feel like 87. Please pray for me? I have a 16 year old daughter and a husband who need me. I can’t even clean the house with 25 -30 lbs of water weight gain.
When i go into any place, my head engages the rules of that place. In a library im quiet, in a club i'm noisy, at work im professional and hardworking. I'm ready, in my heart and mind for these places.
So when i step into Club River, i'm ready for interest, fun, sauciness, to agree, to disagree, to laugh and to cry.

Dear Julie, I have only been a subscriber for about a year and I have never given tips to River but even more important, I never felt undervalued nor minimized as a person by either River or the other Fruitees. My finances cannot afford. As simple as that. I would if I could but that's just how it is. Other RUclipsrs accept coffee money. It's the YT culture. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head to give tips or coffee money. Every time River thanks the people who tipped, I feel happy. Both for River and for the tipper. I am glad that people tip and proud that River acknowledges. River does bring smiles and sunshine to my day. I especially enjoy his knowledge of history and literature and respect him for when he accepts a lack of knowledge. Sometimes, the rants annoy me. I switch channels. It's that easy! I recently lost my mother and through that process we would enjoy watching your program together. She would say you are such a beautiful lady. I never corrected her description because yes you are beautiful in so many ways. We are American and she loved the late Queen. Mom knew they would share close timing leaving us behind to continue raising our families without their guidance. You brought my mother some of her final giggles we shared and those moments are priceless in my little world. The irony of the day for me was a massive full rainbow covered the sky as we laid her to rest.
There are many ways to comfort the ones that raised us and now need us as comfort for both mental and physical activities. You are very much a nurse, one that now nurses my own broken heart after the loss of both magnificent women. So please forgive me if I’m being rude by asking Ms. Julie to find another basket. I’m in American hospital now and I wouldn’t want why I’m here made public. So I am glad Catherine is trying to stay private. It’s no one’s business. Glad the King is staying visible and Prince William is holding his own with other working Royals.

River has entertained about 39 Million viewers ( yes 39 million) to date since 2020. An amazing feat and I am one of them. ❤
I'm sure for whatever procedure Catherine had done, the doctors allowed her ample time for healing and some. I'm sure she wants to be tip-top shape before going back out into her busy public life. Summer is a very busy time for the Royal Family. It's ridiculous what the news media has stirred up. The media has become a problem to society in so many ways.
The media certainly isn’t what it was when I was young. Reporters were respected for their integrity. Walter Conkrite set the standard. I wonder what he would think of today’s “journalists.”
May/June especially is a busy time for the royals.. Windsor Horse Show, Changing of the Guard, Kings Parade, garden parties, Trooping of the Colour, Garter Parade, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon (a fav of Catherine's). Catherine, no doubt, wants to be fit and healthy enough to attend some of these.
Based on what I've seen, some of the most vicious & purely made up gossip has been from a handful of RUclipsrs. I can't believe the speculation & lies that have been said, then spread by viewers. America LOVES this woman. In my humble opinion, she's surpassed her late mother-in-laws notoriety (God rest her soul) and for all the just and right reasons minus the "scandals".

I have had 5 abdominal surgeries. I can tell you that recovery is long and painful. There is a feeling of weakness that can't be described if you haven't been through it. Leave her alone. She will return when she is ready and not before.

My family has pictures taken regularly as many families with young growing children do and it’s very common for the photographer to edit the kids smiles, hair, clothes or whatever from one pic to another. I hope this media conduct is not a resurgence from Diana’s time. Catherine is strong with a lot of support. Despite this, I hope this is not the beginning of driving the lady to despair. Intense, over the top scrutiny, impossible to satisfy media.
I believe this all worsened because Catherine refused to disclose her type of surgery. So the worst of the media set out to go after her and find little criticisms and them demand more. An explanation, a photo, a sighting and still it’s not enough. They yell and exclaim it is doom and gloom for the deceptive royal family. That she is foolhardy at minimal. Calculating, deceptive at worst. Drummed up issues, semi- hysteria. They’re playing hard and dirty. And they don’t care how great she’s been for the country and done a great job in her role. They’re gonna push push push her even if she’s been ill. This is starting to No maybe this isn’t the right thing but if it was me, I would be clamming right up. And see how little I would give them in the future about anything. With her out of the limelight not only do they not have the reason why and they’re angry about it but they were getting all those pictures of her to sell papers. So they decided to create the story and go after her. It’s disgusting.

For the nasty nurse. River has got me through some dark days. Others I notice have made the same point. Rivet brings colour, glamour, laughs and pure naughty joy into so many lives. As a nurse you should understand there are many hurts we feel mental and physical and River heals some of us in our minds. River is one of those channels where the moment I click on with a cup of tea I know I will smile. That’s worth so much.

I'm a recently retired nurse and we all need to make an income but our reward isn't money it's our patients. Julie I understand how difficult our work is and we frequently don't feel valued by the healthcare administrations we work for. That's where the issue often lies. I don't begrudge anyone a tip. They were miffed that the Wales took their own picture. Then the Montecito duo claimed it was heavily photoshopped and the frenzy began.

Privacy is paramount in hospitals. All these years later my long retired mum who was a nurse still won't disclose information on the few famous people she nursed. It's in their code of conduct.
I am an American & a loving & respectful fan of the Royal Family, especially our beautiful Princess Catherine. I can assure you that her name is pinned to the Prayer Wall in my Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona. As a retired ultrasound tech who worked with cancer patients for 40 years, I dissolved into tears when I watched her courageous statement. Catherine & King Charles will BOTH remain on that prayer wall until they are cleared! God save them both, including Prince William, who is shouldering a tremendous amount of responsibility at this time.

Please don't fret about it. Catherine, Princess of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall has always been known here in the UK as "Kate" from when she and William first dated. Perhaps because she came from a very ordinary background and not from the nobility, she really was "the girl next door". So, calling her "Kate" is to us affectionate rather than lacking respect.
They seem determined to deliberately mis-name her every time. Kate when she was a girl. It’s now Catherine the future Queen. 👑

Bravo River! Well said regarding your response to Julie and Tip jar corner. I have often thought to myself over the years I’ve watched your videos, how very classy you are with regards to your tip jar corner. I can’t think of any other video creator/RUclipsr, that does NOT ask in a demanding way. I’ve heard you hundreds of times state that you do not want anyone donating unless they absolutely can afford to. The way I’ve always understood what you do with your tips, is that you shop at charity shops once you have enough money saved up from your tips and/or you add some money of your own to go shopping. The usual items you buy are sparkly brooches, earrings, bracelets, head bands/crowns, as well as items of clothing. On occasion, you purchase decorative items and books. The majority of your charity finds are donated back to the same charity shops so they can be resold to someone else. This in effect, you are donating your tip jar donations twice to these charity shops! I think you should be applauded for the way you manage these tips.
I think Julie is being quite crass in her comment. If she feels insulted in the way you mention tip jar corner, I would gladly direct her to content creators/RUclipsrs that are absolutely rude with regards to asking their viewers for money! Love your videos River. Take care. 😃🥰❤️🇨🇦

When booking my first Botox appointment a couple months back I asked if tipping is customary to which the receptionist said no!! It is unethical for healthcare workers to expect tips for their work. It boggles the mind that a nurse would say such a thing.

And regarding the awful media coverage, after "reporting" on the "Catherine's photo scandal" on Access Hollywood, Mario Lopez said regarding the Princess of Wales , and full disclosure, I am not sure I got the EXACT wording, but he said, "Let's hope she can earn back people's trust." I was like What?!! Earn back trust? For minor photo editing? She does not need to earn back trust. In my humble opinion, she has done absolutely nothing to lose trust.
