I never considered the propel v4 until I put it on my feet in store. It was a Harry Potter meeting his wand moment. I now prefer it above the Mach 5 and Endorphin speed for daily, uptempo runs. Smooth, stable and bouncy. I would buy another pair just to make sure I have another one on standby for the next year.
You popped up in my youtube feed. Interesting take on these. I feel the same about the upper. Its not bad but, not awesome either. I have had them for about a month now, and put a good deal of milage on them, initially. Even being relatively light weight, at 140lbs / 6'0, I found myself bottoming out the foam in the front and, almost in the middle. I would guess it is because the foam is SO SOFT. This works in a shoe with a more ridge plate, but I feel like the foam is TOO forgiving. I immediately upgraded to the new SC Trainer v2, which is this shoe on steroids. More foam, better plate, better upper. I get what they did here, and it feels better than most shoes in the $100-120 range, it just was not for me. They are making a great pair of casual shoes though.
I have the same issues with the tongue and how hard to tie the laces (also laces aren't long enough for a proper heel lock). As long as you're not taking any sharp turns its doing really well.
Just got a pair of Propel v4 a few days ago. The midsole is great. Very enjoyable ride. Nice cushion, and bouncier than my Novablast 2 (I guess the plate contributes). It's a cheaper model. I think the upper is where NB cut the cost. The material seems lower quality. The sponge inside the tongue feels low density and cheap. I also struggled a bit with the laces. It seems that the laces and the eyelets don't work well together and it's harder to get a proper midfoot lockdown.
6:30am, fresh coffee and a new SCR video: already a great morning! Long run later today will be fantastic. Appreciate the review. Looks like a great value option. Knowing that you spend a lot of time on trail, where do road/paved runs fit for you? I tend to notice a difference in the wear/tear I feel after road miles but necessity means they still have a place for me (and there are some gorgeous paved runs here in Calgary, AB, CAN. Have a wonderful Sunday!
I certainly prefer to run on the trails but running on the road/concrete paths is still more convenient. Typically my road runs will be more aerobic based runs... Easy miles or a long run when I want to get more miles in but don't have time to go to the trails. I will also occasionally run some road speed work sessions such as a tempo run or intervals. What about you? Do you for a road or trails for specific type of runs or is it more based on convenience and allotted time? Great question, and thanks for watching the video! I really appreciate it!
@@SeeChadRun road is almost always convenience based. I’ve got a couple of running partners that often have small time windows so roads get us on feet rather than behind a wheel. Generally my road runs are slower, relaxed zone 2 runs. The conversational pace lends itself to catching up and visiting. Because of the company and pace, my road runs seem to have more laughter than my trails runs. That makes up for the less glorious scenery.
I haven't had the opportunity to run in the NB 1080s, but the fuel cell compound is quite nice and perhaps a little more bouncy from what I've been told. The 1080 looks to have a more comfortable upper than the Propel v4.
I ah ah really ah ah don't care for an ah short on breath running reviews. Less footage of you running and more about the shoes please. You lost my attention. Too bad it could have been a great review.

Thanks for watching the video. This is great feedback and exactly what my experience was as well.
Glory glory what a perfect way to run❤
Where did you get the colourway?
This was one of the original colorways offered and is what New Balance sent me at the time.

I just reread your comment! Ha! Glad I was part of your great morning ;-) Hope you have an awesome long run!
are these better then the 1080 v 12?

These shoes are way too overhyped. 👎

Maybe try watching one of my trail racing videos instead... ruclips.net/video/ogpTTB5_d7Y/видео.html
i think it's great, so many other reviewers out there that do the same thing in their studios/home.
I've taken this feedback constructively and feel that my more recent reviews have improved but still keep to the "seeing Chad run" format.
