A hideaway-like community of old houses was located at the end of a steep slope

Kanna Town, Gunma Prefecture.
A village of old houses sits like a hideaway at the end of a narrow road up a steep slope.
I was surprised to find a village at the end of such a narrow road.
When I walked around, I found it to be a tiny village with fewer than 10 houses.
As expected, there were several old houses that had become ruins.
There do not appear to be any jobs that pay here.
The people only grow vegetables for themselves to eat.
Their only livelihood is dependent on their pensions.
The voices of the children who must have been there in great numbers in the past are no longer to be heard.
The village has a nostalgic and lonely atmosphere.
