HI CHRIS 👋 GLAD TO HEAR YOU & SHANNON HAVE FOUND A BASE CAMP TO CALL 📞 HOME 🏡 PRETTY COOL ABOUT YOUR SON & FLYING THE PLANE TOO . GORGEOUS WEATHER LANDSCAPE WILDLIFE DRONE FOOTAGE SCENERY COLORS VIDEO 📹 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 THANK YOU 🙏 😀
A home base now, well THATS big news !! And WoW , seeing your Son piloting : I remember the video you had, turning the camera sideways to show him on his video game while your driving through beautiful forests. Guess he found his own path for what excites him .
Hi Chris I'm a Air Canada Captain and have watched your videos for years. Your son Cole is in for a very rewarding career at a great time as the United States Citizenship is the golden ticket in Aviation
Congratulations, congratulations and congratulations. Ist one for your son Cole. 2nd one for your new house. 3rd one for this video (going back to doing what you are good at). 👍
It has been exciting to see you grow by the way Chris! I have been watching you since you moved out of the apartment. Thanks for letting me join you on your journey! You are an inspiration to me!
Chris and Shannon, A welcome to our new residents to the state of Arizona! I hope you enjoy the state and Tucson area. Let us know if we can be of any assistance to you from up here in the Valley (driveway to park, cold beer, taco...grilled cheese sandwich). Or if you're in need of destinations in the state to explore for when it's over 100 degrees.... Safe travels.
You remind me of David Van Driessen from bevis and butthead in the best ways! Your videos encourage me to explore my state more, cheers to a great 2023!
So good to see you back in Orangey. As a father with a 22yo son I got a little misty watching Cole fly you around. Congrats on the new house. Rexy and I are heading out on a Northern MN adventure this morning and this video was exactly what I needed with my coffee. Proud to be a patron. Safe travels :)
Congrats with Cole becoming a pilot! A year of extreme highs and lows in your ventures. I was a bit shocked to hear you bought a house, because you were certainly not homeless. We remember your statements at the beginning: 'It's not gonna be easy' and 'I don't need this house to be happy' like it was yesterday because it inspired us to let go of most material things to be part of the outdoor sounds, smells and all other vibes. I guess you have come full circle on this and like most channels go expedition style with a sticks and bricks base. There will also be a big audience for that and you will succeed in your own way. For us and maybe most on the road, the money will always be tight and the uncertain daily ventures of living houseless but not homeless, is still the gravitational center of why we are doing this. Thanks for making us part of your inspiring journey over the years!
Awesome and exciting seeing our children grow up and begin their our journey. So interesting seeing Kelsey and Tim just sold their house in AZ and that you & Shannon just bought a house in AZ 🤔
When you said "Moldy food"... I remembered your battle with the mouse... I recently turned on my heater fan. It worked for about 10 seconds and blew a fuse. I took it apart. Completely stuffed with padding/insulation... mostly chewed out of my truck. A big mouse nest. And this is a daily driver.
Really enjoyed this video…..it was along the same lines as the ones when I first started watching the channel several years ago. More like this please!
im surprised at all the comments about this feeling like 'the old days' - throughout i was thinking how advanced your videography has become, how you're using cool gadgets to get the motion you want in your shots, that your composition is getting better and better, and how much you're thinking about the overall story you're trying to tell and using editing to make that happen. I especially like how you summarized at the end, like any good book report!!! So happy at all your good news, and happy new year!
Just keep doing what your doing the way you do it. Your channel shows more about the real outdoors than most! Camp meals are made to be rustic and fun!
Congratulations to Cole! He is following his dreams, like his dad. Congratulations on the new house! I think a place to call home is necessary. And I noticed that you open bags of cereal the same way I do! Blunt force. :)
Looks like you might be in the Crown King AZ area. Congradulations on the new house and Happy New Year. Also, that is awesome about your son flying, very impressive.
Congratulations on the home purchase! And your meal prep is part of what I love about the channel. You are out there for the long haul. All the people eating steak and potatoes every night are just the weekend wheelers that spend weeks preparing for their trips. What you do is more practical for us normal folk. Looking forward to the new year!
Congrats to Cole on his private pilot's license! All the best as he pursues further ratings! And, Chris, your food apology! "Please don't unsubscribe." I burst out laughing! Honestly I find all the fancy cooking on some camping channels discouraging. I can't fathom how they put in the miles it seems like they do and still have time for that sort of meal prep! More power to them, but I sure can't keep up!
Chris I think it’s great that you’re “settling down”. You’ve seen so much of the US and Canada, but having a place to leave belongings is a game changer… Perhaps there’s a future trip to South America now that you don’t have to feel like a turtle with your entire house on your back… Earning a pilots license is not an easy thing, I started down that path years ago after obtaining my A&P license, just couldn’t justify the expense vs: the usage at the time… Maybe a new home tour is planned, I’d like to see what you and Shannon are hanging your hats… I really enjoyed this episode, safe travels.
Awesome news Chris. Looking back at your old episodes of when you and Cole went to the aviation museum, it makes sense that he is taking that route. And you have passed down the spirit of adventure, only he is taking to the sky!
21:14 is our Camp Spot. Many years of going there and was sad to see some others had been there and left some glass. My pup grew up in that creek and around that campfire ring. Eastward is Sibley Mansion and North is Rug Road, and Parsons canyon that leads to Aravaipa Canyon and out to Wilcox/Mt Graham. We run SOAZ Offroad in Tucson so contact us if you want to Explore it in more detail .
Glad to see you back Chris. Love watching your videos, especially your cooking segments :-). So glad to hear Cole is becoming a pilot. Where did you buy a house? Arizona?
Great to hear about the home base. Couldn’t be happier for you. Hope you stuck to Texas. It’s a natural thing to want to nest. Looking 4wd to many more adventures.
Happy new years V4WD 👍congratz to cole on his pilot license & congratz to you both on settling on a house, that had to be a very hard compromise for you after so long on the road, but a well deserved one i hope. best to you both and keep exploring dude, like shannons mom once said to you 😄Adventure is a Foot!!✌
Congratulation Chris on Your new home. Im amazed that you have been able to be on the road for so long, and Im sure that there will be plenty of new video subjects to come along with grilled cheese sandwiches in the future. Congratulation also at your son being a pilot. He might have some of his fathers wandering skills. Only in another element.
Glad I stumbled on your channel a while back, Sir. I enjoy the laid back vibe of exploration and the detailed chats. Especially appreciate the sentiment that you're out looking for secluded spaces to capture memories of whether it be photographic or video, but not out trying to challenge the vehicle and/or driving itself. I definitely share that feeling nd look forward to exploring some of the lines you've drawn out. Cheers to a new year and many more adventures.
I grew up with a mother who could not cook, so it was a lot of spam and green beans. Later my older brother said “ I can ear anything with bacon & beer.” LOL
Good call on that sketchy trail. When solo, I make it a point to not attempt anything on the edge of my comfort unless I know there are other people passing somewhere close on a regular basis.
Word to the wise: I melted my Jetboil basecamp handle covers by leaving them folded while lighting. Try to remember to extend the arms before ignition.
Great shots of articulation. Also, looks like you have new pants. They are very stylish, was Shannan a part of picking them out, and what is the brand name? My husband may need a pair.
Great video thank you!

Chris, this video reminded me of videos from a few years ago. Loved it!! We need more grilled cheese and cheeseburger content LOL!!
Good Stuff!!!! That was terrain that not many people have done. Cheez Its...
I feel like it’s been a while since we’ve seen your traditional video format. It was good to see again. Happy new year.
Love the video 🎉
Hi Chris I'm a Air Canada Captain and have watched your videos for years. Your son Cole is in for a very rewarding career at a great time as the United States Citizenship is the golden ticket in Aviation
Congratulations to Cole on his Pilots license. Definately a proud dad moment, I'm sure. And Congratulations on the new house.

Can we talk about whatever happened when you opened that cereal bag? It must have put up some fight.
I haven't seen your channel for like a couple years... Glad that you still have an orange jeep !!!!!
SPAM is totally legit camping food.
Nothing like SPAM and eggs over a campfire in the morning...
Been with you since the apartment, you have grown and expanded your life over the years.lots of new firsts this year.happy for you and yours
Great to see good old Orangey back in action for 2023. Congratulations on another year on the road. Looking forward to the next year's content!
I have been following you for a while I really love Orangey🍊❤️

Spamtastic!
Welcome back and Happy new year. Adventure is afoot in 2023, roll orange roll.
Great video and spot on comment about Arizona being full of surprises. Lived here 4 years now- loving it! Mogollon rim is my favorite..
That shot coming up the hill looking under Orangie's skirt, brilliant!
Wow!! Orangey mobbing the opening scene, that trail, piloting son, the river crossing, a new house... What a start to 2023!!!! Thank you, Chris!
I dig the pictures man! I have always wanted to see more of it!

Love the video of Arizona. Enjoyed the comment on eating Spam. Congrats on purchasing first home. Always love watching your videos. Have a great day!
Forgot to include in my last comment.
Congratulations on your son Cole flying the airplane. How great!
I always chuckle whenever Chris encounters cows. Like he's afraid of them....just don't cook any hamburgers. 😆
Your footage is always second to none. Love your work.
Like that headlight lighting on the face
That's a Jethro bowl of cereal!
All good, looking forward to future episodes. Happy New Year.
I came for the Orangy adventure content, but stayed for the toasted cheese sandwich content 😆
That’s dope AF, congratulations to both of you.
Thanks for your videos, Chris. You have always been an inspiration to travel and explore more!
Glad you're on the road. I do understand the need for a settled spot...a home. Good luck
Welcome to Arizona
Every time I see an Arizona video, I want to go there and explore.
Beautiful scenery ; Chris is the Bob Ross of overlanding.

SPAM-Stuff Posing As Meat, Bill Engvall.
Glad to see you back posting new material. Be safe to Shannon and you. CHEERS from Colorado
Happy new years. Thanks for all these videos throughout the years.
The critter at 13:51 was a badger, not a skunk. You were right to be cautious as I'd rather wrestle a skunk than an angry badger! Enjoy our AZ winter.
Welcome to owning a home here in Arizona! Maybe I'll see ya around Prescott sometime! Timmy C Arizona
Congratulations on your new home and your son's accomplishments! Let the journey continue...
Great video Chris! Many excellent things accomplished in your life and family. Happy New Year and many more blessings.
