I just purchased and am using Finale 26. Your tutorial helped me add changes in tempo in my piece. There weren't as many steps and it is easier now, but without your tutorial I would not have known how to get there, Thank you.
@@JanJohanssonmusic That's so good - have you gone to the new v27 version? I haven't updated yet - still on v26 and doing everything I've needed so far...
@@JanJohanssonmusic Well, because of the NEW Technology and programming used on v26, the answer is yes it is superior. BUT, I'm not saying that there are no bugs nor saying that 2014.5 is not working. If you need to upgrade because of hardware and operating system issues, then I think v26 is fine. That's the one I'm currently using. I haven't upgraded to v27 yet.

Hi! Thanks for the video! I have a question. What are your mac's specifications? I have a MID 2012 macbook pro on which I have Finale 2014 installed. The fact is that when I hit play, HP doesn't load as fast as on your mac... Thanks in advance!
+juan parra Thanks for the comment Juan - I'm certainly NOT the best - just trying to teach a little bit of what I know and share with all of you out there trying to copy music!
Thanks J. I have a tempo change that it happening in the score I'm working on, but there is no tempo marking whatsoever. What could be cause the tempo change? I tried to put a tempo marking like you are describing here to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
So the tempo DOES change but you don't have a tempo marking? I would just try to see if by any chance it is hidden somewhere. If the problem is still there - I would open a new score and try to copy and paste up to that measure - then copy the new measure with the tempo change and see if it works!
Yes, exactly. I suspect it is something hidden like you say. How can verify this? I tried copying to another fresh sheet, but it seems to bring it over with everything else. Thanks a lot Jorge!
Vanessa, I hope you find value in all the other videos in the channel as well. I've done more videos in Spanish since I know there are other groups available for English. If you need more help or where to find other resources for Finale, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll share them with you!
I won't disagree... But also, this is one of Finale's oldest versions. So if you grab the latest v26 demo, you might find out there are lots of things fixed, and others that haven't been fixed as well.
@@noahemmertwx YES! But also, debatable that it doesn't take me 5 seconds to change tempo in Finale. It's all about the user and how one knows the tool. I do believe the best tool is the one that the user is strongly comfortable using. And in this case, if that is MuseScore, then be it. In my case, it'll be Finale. In others it will be Sibelius or Dorico. I'm probably going to get a new iPad Pro and then I might be switching to StaffPad...
@@noahemmertwx I'm confused then - I select the correct tool, I click on the measure I want it to go, select the new tempo and it is there. Now, if we are talking playback, that's a whole another ball game! Also, which version of Finale are you using or have you used?
You have the same version of Finale? And you might be working from a different startup template or different file - and then those will not show up! Sorry... You can create your own template and then you will have the options that you like, your own chords, your own markings and rehearsal letters. That's what I do.
Silvestrini has a knack for making things easy to understand,. This saved me a lot of time when I was busy on a project with a deadline. Thanks much!
That's GREAT and AWESOME to read and hear. Hopefully, I can help you again in the near future. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you!
Would you say that you can't find the option or is it physically NOT there when you look for it in the window as I show in the tutorial?

My pleasure! By your user name: are you on Broadway? Or working with Broadway music? I've always been interested in that!
Jan - no worries... My pleasure to serve and try to share a little bit of knowledge!
Jorge, this is really helpful. Thank you very much for sharing this...By far the best tempo change guide I have seen anywhere...
THANKS for sharing with me! Are you still using Finale to copy and write music?

Great tutorial. Question: will PrintMusic do the same as you demonstrate here, setting a tempo change and assigning it to playback?
Hey Robert - so I am going to guess that is basic functionality and it should do it!
Jorge Silvestrini, many thanks for your teaching to me.

Hello - I have the MBP Mid 2015 Retina with 16GB of RAM and i7 2.8GHz Intel.
That explains it... Or it's just the version I'm using. Maybe if I had the 2012 version, HP would load faster...
Which version do you have Alin? I'm actually on the latest v25 and waiting for v26 to come out later in the year.
