Aw yesss. An abscess with my coffee this morning. I love how about 70% of cattle problems can be fixed by poking a hole in them. Have you ever noticed that in general, women love abscess popping more than men? That's how it was in the ER where I worked lol.
It's funny because I just found your channel and was wondering if you still uploaded, and im glad you do. You seem like a wonderful vet, and I love the way you work!
I love to watch you help these animals. I grew up on a farm and my dad had all these animals including chicken, pigs and mules. We had a lot of acreage for farming to.
Is it common for cattle to get abscesses on the neck & jaw & why ? Just wondering as this old Aussie worked birthing foals & not much with cattle. Thank you for sharing this video ❤❤❤🐄🐂🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
If the cow was able to leave a review on this surgery’s care and staff….waiting time was ok, staff we fast and efficient, bedside manner left something to be desired 😂 after some wriggling around they got together and flipped something on my nose to hold me still! Just ask me nicely to stay still. Though I would have still wriggled 😂 but staff were friendly and communication between them was excellent. The treatment worked and relief was almost instantaneous
Got your button. Good work. DK the whole story here but think you’re from Canada or USA..that lingo is rubbing off on you big time. Goes both ways I reckon..All good in the hood. Take care.
Is there a reason why the Ranchers don't lance the puss filled bumps on their own? Seems like a pretty simple procedure. I'm not a Vet and I don't want you to loose clients but, just would like to know.
@@pmccoy8924 the nose halter is there for the safety of both animal and anyone working on it. Please do feel free to attempt to handle half a tonne of cantankerous beast without one 🤷♀️
Not sure what you mean or what you recommend? This is exactly the way veterinarians works wide manage issues such as these. As I have explained time and time again to folks who fail to listen or read previous comments, abscesses in cattle are directly under the skin, local anesthetic would be applied under the skin if used… but… there is no where to deposit it and the pressure of the abscess plus the undermining of the subcutaneous tissue renders any attempt to apply local both unnecessary and ineffective. This is why we are taught this technique. This IS the way. Cheers!

That’s a fascinating statistic.
It puts you off of fruit, cottage cheese, strawberry, for a while.
The stench of the word abcess makes me want to vomit. 😂😂😂
Thank you for the coffee and for working ER.
Every time you said “you’re ok buddy”, I imagine him saying “I’m not your buddy”😆
I'm not your buddy, pal
@@ceneblockI'm not your pal, guy
Love the channel. And we love the abcess's and autopsies. Well anything educational is worth watching. Now I need a farm.
I never get tired of your leather joke!!! 😂😂❤
“What the fuck happened there” 😂😂so aussie
You're so quick and nonchalant with the jokes and awesome responses people don't even catch it at first! Appreciate ya! 😂😂😂😎👍✌

That dog has found a good spot to be while the humans annoy the cattle.
Good dogs!
Lol I got a feeling that fanny would have been your aunt instead of Susan if you weren’t in AussieLand! 😂😂 🇦🇺
Watching from Nairobi, Kenya. Great

Horns from the other cattle.

Thank you doc ,👌👌👌👌
I like how the doctor shows everyone in the cast! Preston! Cheesy smile joke!
Not sure why i keep watching. That stunt you just pulled when kicking that syringe made me gag. 😂😂😂
And then we wonder why cows charge at us in fits of bovine rage.
Outstanding 😅
Enoch’s humor keeps me tuning in.
"It's like leather "😅
Love your set up!
Hellooooo Preston! You have a gorgeous smile!
Living the dream.
Unfortunately Bob is your Auntie in America now. 🤔
Preston is a cutie 🥰
Did he really lick it 😮😮😮😮
Oh my God.
👍👍👍🐄🐄🐄
Ausie man 😮
Whoever your videographer is has a nice smile. Easy on the eyes too...oh yeah and awesome job! 😁 😏😊
😊
Do you give it pain medicine before you do it
How could he lick and taste that???
Yeah, was thinking the same thing 😅
I have a Question? why does big animal vet do not use painkillers on the Cow or the horses or, farm animals? Is it because of the stress?

Handschuhe, Desinfektion?
Did he actually lick it?
Omg did you just do what I thought you did with that needle…🤢🤮

You dudnt numb it , shame on you
Do you know what numbing it involves?
Don't that hurt the poor animal?
Clearly never had an abscess drained yourself 🤷♀️ more pain with the pressure than cutting to drain
@@mels7735can confirm as someone who drains their own cysts, the relief overall is worth the brief slice with a scalpel.
The nose halter hurt I am sure. The abscess drainage did the first poke. After it was a relief.
@@pmccoy8924 The nose halter is actually soothing/calming for the cow.

I had Wagu corned beef a couple of months ago... it tasted like that pus was in it 🤢🤮BTW... what kind of vet shows up on site without their bander? 😂😂
Why do you act like the cows don't feel
Pain, treat them right
