Another Bull, Another Abscess

- This fella’s abscess was likely started by a bit of sharp ended tucker. He’d probably eaten a grass seed in a mouthful of grass which inadvertently got stuck in his gums and migrated to behind the point of the jaw. He was looking a bit lean, so it might have been giving him a bit of trouble got awhile. He was in for bull testing and that’s when the owner noticed him.
He'll be moooving along nicely now that he's not dealing with that bull shit

The best part is when they realize that you are actually helping them and they become as calm as can be. Great work Doc, keep it up.
I have so much respect for farmers and vets.. This was so humanely done. Great work!!
I like how you can tell how the relieved the cow is when it stops struggling. It's like "Oh, you are helping."
I bet it also feels a lot better once that pressure is released.
It’s a bull, not a cow 😉🙂
@@kristymay9435 Oh right! Thanks! That makes such a huge difference to the point! 🤣
Nah it thinks it’s gonna die & basically gives up. Being chained from the neck & trapped in a tight cage while a man cuts you open will never make a cow feel relieved lol
Those abscess hurt like a mother and I’m sure it was so relieved 😌 and yes what a hot vet 🔥
I’ve had a ginormous abscess drained; was super sick. Felt amazingly better the instant the doc had 2/3 of the stuff out. That bull calmed down like he had that same experience.
I had to have an operation on 3 and was sedated. When I woke up I couldn’t even stand up because i could feel the blood rushing and then the packing process in 3 different spots was so bad. Worst pain having dry bandages being pushed into a raw 10cm deep cut
but did you do it without anesthetic?
@@tigress63Pretty sure this guy is a vet and usually they do dope/drug them up, they just don’t put local in the area or put them to sleep.
Personally I have cysts/abscesses as a common occurrence due to a health issue, I get them so often I have antibiotics on my repeat prescription list to order as and when I please…without needing to go to see my doctor every time, ask anyone UK and they will tell you that they want you to physically see a doctor every time in order to get antibiotics, not me though I just order them and get them because they know my issues 😅…..they become less effective the more you use them is the trouble same with steroids.
I can’t take antibiotics 24/7 365 days a year so I only order them when I really have to aka it’s so bad I can’t cope with the pain multiple cysts clustered in multiple places at the same time….only way they are still worth taking is to not take them every cyst I get.
All that to say I lance my cysts/abscesses all the time with 0 painkillers, it’s painful because you are slicing/stabbing an already inflamed infected area….but as I have had this issue since I was around 14yrs old and I have had 20 years to perfect it I am kind of used to it 😂 I have a stock of sterile scalpels, sterile gauzes to cover/wrap but also to pack if needed basically all the gear needed….the only area I will not lance myself personally is my armpits because the artery is so easily nicked if you don’t know what you are doing aka anatomy which I do I’m just not dumb enough to risk it and honestly lancing a couple on my butt cheek was enough stress for me 😂 do you know how hard it is to view ur ass in a mirror while lancing a cyst 😂….yes my doctors have been horrified over the years because I don’t lie I tell them the truth, lanced cysts on my arms/legs/belly honestly the only place I haven’t had a cyst is my feet…if they pop up daily like they do with me it’s not really a choice if you want a life outside of Dr’s and A&E 😂😂
How did you manage to get 3 of them at the same.time@@Dark_horse777

Have seen numerous vet shows and seen a lot of abscesses emptied, good job sir, I'm sure that was a huge relief
Poor baby looks like he really doesn't feel good. I bet he'll feel better soon.
Yeah. I remember getting an infection in that area after my wisdom teeth were removed. Draining the abscess was *awful,* but the relief afterwards was *worth it.*
And back he goes to his bros, "Damn, I've been through some things." They all nod and light up fat cigars.

Absolutely, on saying they've a 6th sense. How anyone can abuse them is disgusting to even gear about it, but if I see it- I'm going to speak up. Somebody's got to stick up for them & people can be so ignorant.

My uncle was a cattle rancher all his life and he did a lot of stuff like this as well and never wore gloves...he did wash his hands a lot though and kept everything clean...I asked him once why he didnt wear gloves and he said when he had his fingers inside the cow, gloves make it hard for him to figure out whats going on inside and he can figure out whats going on easier...so it might look weird, but I just think it's the way it is.

2 nasty abscesses!
I am a retired oral surgeon. I had many patients come in as emergencies looking like that. Usually it was a bad tooth. They came because they couldn't eat, sometimes breathing was getting troublesome. They mostly denied pain. Until after I had lanced the infection. Then they would say, Thank you, I didn't realise how much it hurt before. Because the pain came on slowly.
This Bull realised it was being helped!
