Love this collab
I recommend the 1995 film Fluke to you
You should have watched Young Einstein. 1988 Australian comedy film written, produced, directed by and starring Yahoo Serious so you could have an actual Aussie film.
I believe the one you three were talking about with the spider was "Charlotte's Web".
You guys react to the Sequel just as good.
You guys need to watch Animal Farm now! It will change your life. A true animal movie.
Christmas? Christmas means dinner, dinner means death! Death means carnage; Christmas means carnage! That might be the most "metal" line ever and it's in a "kids" movie.
10:15 Fun fact: James Cromwell actually signed on for the movie thinking he'd have a small role based on the amount of dialogue his character had.
I appreciate content creators supporting one another and collaborating together (especially when it's two channels that I'm already a fan of). It really brings home a sense of community. Good on you for promoting that.
🙏🙏🙏
@@MaryCherryOfficial I would love for you to react with Natalie Gold and MovieJoob as well! MovieJoob apparently lives in Sydney as well!
Completely agree
I agree I love these collabs. I kinda want to see cinebinge with the octokrool channel and Mary Cherry as well
I've been subscribed to both for awhile!
"It's hard for animals to emote" Tell that to my terrier when I'm 5 minutes late feeding him.
Me when Babe herds all the sheep at the end: WITNESS HIM!!!
Witness!
Babe: "Are you not entertained?"
Medio...
That'll do.
“BA-RAM-EWE! BA-RAM-EWE! TO YOUR BREED, YOUR FLEECE, YOUR CLAN BE TRUE! SHEEP BE TRUE! BA-RAM-EWE!” This has lived in my head rent free for decades, 💖💖
Mine too.
Hugo Weaving as Rex. Miram Margoles as Fly. Roscoe Lee Browne as the narrator. So many splendid voices!
Written by the man who made every Mad Max movie. Still blows my mind.
Dig this. Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, also wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Know what literally blows minds? The man that invented dynamite also established the Nobel Peace Prize, Alfred Nobel.
Don't forget about "Babe Pig In The City" too, fully directed by George Miller!
The man has layers! Good on him
@@TheImaginator972it’s a great sequel
"That'll do, donkey. That'll do." Some lines are just too good not to reuse.
FUN FACT: Babe is voiced by the late Christine Cavanaugh, who's also the voice of Dexter (Dexter's Laboratory) and Chuckie Finster (Rugrats).
And Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck and Oblina from Aah! Real Monsters. Also, she is from Utah, which is where I'm from. Sadly, she passed from cancer a few years ago. She was only in her 50s. 😢
Oh no way, I didn't know she died! That's so sad to hear. I absolutely adored Aah Real Monsters as a kid. She had such a delightful voice.
That's why it sounded so familiar...I am a 90s kid and grew up on Dexter's Lab...
I cry once in awhile when I see her in Salute your shorts. Also you forgot Oblina from aaah real monsters!
Didn't.Nancy Cartwright do chucky.. so to speak..must have been later on
I sang that song 'If I Had Words' to my cat Bill, who'd been with me for half my life, on the night that he died. So yeah, this movie always makes me a little emotional...
So sorry for your loss… I hate when pets die 😫
21 gun salute for Bill 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🫡 A Very Distinguished Kitty
You and Bill were both so lucky, when we give our pets all we can, we must be happy !❤❤
I legit teared up when I read that 😢 😭
That's beautiful. Now everytime I hear the song I will think of your feline friend as well.
The man who made this movie happen was on a flight from Australia to Europe and was switching through different radio channels and happened upon a reading of this book by a woman who reads books for the BBC. This usually professional BBC woman could scarcely contain her laughter, which convinced the man there was something very special about this story.
My brother worked at a movie theater when this movie came out. People would stay until the end of the credits to find out where it was filmed, well before it was normal to stay until the end of the credits. My brother would go into the theater and it would be still half full and he would say, "New South Wales, Australia" and everyone would leave, their questions answered.
The sequel Babe: Pig in the City is worth a watch. I loved the sequel. It is so funny.
Nice to know that Australia and Canada have a longstanding relationship
🐷🐷🐷
Sadly both countries completely over run by commies
They do still share a head of state.
Few countries that use Norman common law from 1066 England, Ireland , UK (Scotland uses Roman civl law) , Canada (Quebec uses bijuridical system) , Australia , NZ and 49 state of USA (Louisiana uses Napoleonic law)
eh, eh!!!😂
I'm an old man and I've seen a lot of movies. This, among all of them, is the best I've seen. It goes so far beyond the stunning visuals and the emotional tugs. The GIANT theme of not being constrained to a pre-defined role in life and the central idea that kind is better than cruel are much grander than you'd expect from a talking animal movie. I've been waiting for the reactors to get around to it and I couldn't be happier that it was you and Cinebinge, Mary.
that is exactly what this movie is about 😭 beautifully said
Babe is a perfect movie.
Absolutely perfect
Timeless, simple , genius all in one.
About 25 years ago I visited Robertson in the Southern Highlands, New South Wales, where "Babe" was filmed.
The farmer who owns the land kept the set of Hoggett's House and the stables.
He was nice enough to take me down there and showed me around.
I don't know what happened to it, but back then it truly was a magical place.
It won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
🐖🐖🐖
It was also nominated for Best Picture and a Supporting Actor nomination for James Cromwell.
As I recall, it had to beat out Apollo 13 for Visual Effects, which was no small feat.
The director of photography for this movie was the late Andrew Lesnie who also was the DP for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
As an Aussie, Babe will never not pull tears. I remember seeing live in a cinema as a kid. It just gets better over the years.
I’m so proud that we have this movie 🍿
Fun fact: James Cromwell became a vegetarian after this movie
@@nsasupporter7557 Looked it up because I verify this kinda thing by habit, and apparently it was 1974 for vegetarianism, and he went vegan in 1995 "while playing the character of Farmer Hogget." Still appreciate the trivia I found via your comment :)
@@Dylan_Thomas1 yeah, I just found that also. I watched a recent interview with him where he explained it.
"How did they get the sheep to walk in lines like that?"
Come on, Simone... Babe said "Bah-Ram-Ewe..." weren't you watching the movie!?!? ;-)
That ending, with the explosion of applause and music swelling, good grief, it breaks me every time.
Same here.
As an American, one of my favorite Aussie films is called “The Dish” starring Sam Neill and Patrick Warburton. It’s dryly hilarious, totally Aussie, and a personal favorite. A true hidden gem that people don’t know much about. If you watched it, I’m confident you’d love it as much as I do!
If you like The Dish, I highly recommend The Castle if you haven't seen it. Same team that did The Dish, but their first movie. Even has a small supporting role by Eric Bana.
I love that film!
Since finding out he's Kronk in Emperors New Clothes I just want Mitch to say "Pull the lever Kronk!"
Computer shuts off.....
"WRONG LEVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" 🤣🤣
It's not just the actors, but also the Australian music of the era too - great stuff.
You have a wonderful taste in movies, good sir!! 'The Dish' is my 6th favourite movie of all time (yes, I have a list).
In the 90s if you ask a kid what noise a cow makes they would say Mooo, a horse - Neeeyy a dog Woof! etc - but a pig would go "la la la la la la"
13:20 that little duck waffle out is why I love raising ducks. They just walk around with flippers and the smack smack smack footsteps are awesome. Especially when they run across tile.
This is seriously one of my favorite movies! It hits even harder when you’ve already seen it. I’m a 50 year old man and this movie makes me cry at least five times!
Same here.
James Cromwell became a vegan due to his role in this film, and then went on to be an animal rigtts activist
Yeah, the guy glued his hand to the counter of a Starbucks demanding cheaper soya milk LOL
He was vegetarian already, this film made him go vegan. But he isn't an animal rights activist at all, he's with PETA (which is as far away from helping animals as one can ever get).
@@masansrPETA is evil.
His loss beef is so tasty and so is bacon!
I guess the lesson is - you don't eat your co-stars!
There's some actors who never learned that lesson. 😂
_"That’ll do Pig. That’ll do."_
Honestly it’s amazing y that you’re finally redoing a reaction to this film and co-collaborating with CineBinges.
This film still holds a special place in my heart as not only did it came in 1995 but I just love that it’s a balance of Practical and CG effects on bringing Babe, Ferdinand, the sheepdogs and sheep to life. Not to mention James Cromwell who played Arthur Hoggett made him into a vegan afterwards and last year he got a chance to interact with a piglet aptly named Babe that was soon sent to an animal sanctuary.
Also the voice of Babe is Christine Cavanaugh who was best known as the voice of Dexter in _Dexter’s Laboratory_ and Chuckie Finster in _Rugrats_
Deservedly got an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. It's just excellent.
I loved this reaction. Mary and Simone are ahhing and oooing at the barn yard animals. George is looking and sounding like Homer Simpson in front of a box of donuts. Lol😂
I just remember everyone in high school in Australia when this came out was singing "La la laaaaa" all the time. It was unavoidable for a while.
Lol. I remember that.
“People are so immature”
Truer words have nvr been spoken, Mary. 💯
Literally I’ve watched this only a few times over the many years but the scene with the farmer and the pig inside when he’s trying to cheer it up is possibly the most heartwarming scene in movies
Completely agree.
James Cromwell kills it!
This movie was so popular when it came out and felt like an instant classic that would stand the test of time. However after it's sequeal came out, it kind of got forgotten. I don't recall any of nieces or nephews watching it, and they were introduce to all the other greats of the 90s and 80s. I certainly haven't heard anybody reference it in a lonnnnggg time. I'm happy you guys got to see it.
haha, George @15:16-15:28 "Mmmmmmm! ..., i mean...... ohhhhhhh...!" LOL xD
If you've ever played Warcraft II, a hidden feature was to click on the sheep repeatedly and eventually they'd say the password "Baa Ram Ewe"
And then explode.
I'm now 40 and saw this as an Aussie kid when 11 and it really demonstrates how your perspective in life changes. The 11 year old me wouldn't have tears in my eyes as the 40 year old father me did, when the crowd erupts as the pen gate closed, because you understand a unique proudness.
Working sheepdogs learn a dozen or so commands. "Come by" means to circle the sheep clockwise, "Away" means to do it anti-clockwise for example. When they are done working the command is "That'll do", so "That'll do Pig" is actually him giving the pig the command to stop working for the day.
For the many roles she portrayed in children's animation as Dexter (Dexter's Lab) and Chuckie (Rugrats), her legacy in this film is a reminder how truly special she was as many as those in the voice acting industry. Thank you so much for making our childhoods a blessed one. RIP Christine Cavanaugh (1963-2014). 💐🕯🌳
Thanks piggy 🐷
This was the first movie I saw James Cromwell in. So everything I've ever seen him in since, even to this day, my first thought is always, "Oh hey, it's Farmer Hoggett."
George might be interested to know that the Cat is Martin from The Simpsons 😂
I’m so happy people are starting to react to Babe. I work as a nanny & this is a perennial favorite with the kids.
I love how the animals are voiced in this movie. And the soundtrack is beautiful. One of my absolute favorite films, and I'm happy to see you three watch it together.
One of my favorite soundtracks, too! I was furious when I bought it in 1995 and it had dialogue from the movie all over it. Finally, after twenty-something years, they released a proper album with just the music!
Okay, this teamup works really well and it was very, very enjoyable. Best collaboration I've seen of any RUclips teamups. All three should consider doing this on a regular basis.
Have you watched the one they did for Juno over on CineBinge's channel? It was equally enjoyable. And agree, they have a good vibe together.
Simone's Vulcan salute at the James Cromwell/Zephram Cochrane trivia, chef's kiss.
I know, right! 🖖💖
That'll do Mary.... that'll do. 😂 Love seeing you three together!
Good catch on Hugo Weaving's voice, George!
Simone has watched a movie with Cassy from Popcorn. Mary has watched a movie with Ashleigh from Ashleigh Burton. So all my favorite reactors are now connected!
When you guys said "kind of Australian" I was not expecting Babe... lol.
I can just imagine the old farmer doing that little dance for his son when he was sick ❤
I watched this movie on VHS probably 20 times when I was a kid. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 😊
Babe was nominated for 7 Academy Awards including best picture. I saw it the theater 10 times
It won for best visual effects
Not only did Miller work on this but he also directed and produced Happy Feet.
Ooo a Mary Cherry and Cine Binge collab, I'm looking forward to this, and a cute move to react on.
🐽🐽🐽
The sheep password: "God damn you! God damn you!" 😂
This crossover is blowing my mind. Worlds colliding.
🐽🐽🐽
Mary calling George "Babe" 😆Mary has such a big personality ❤
Maybe she thought he resembled a talking pig?... (I heard that used as a put down once when someone was described as a real babe!)
Imagine you live in a small town near Montréal, working in a food store , someone say Hi , and when you look up its James Cromwell the farmer in Babe asking for sourdough bread for his wife 😮
Needless to say i had a great day at work that day 😂
Sweet giant
Nice! Est-ce qu'il était dans le coin pour un film ou juste de passage?
@@A.French en visite chez un ami un comedien québécois mais que je nai pas reconnu 🤷 en vacance je crois tout simplement.
This is an unexpected collab😃
🐖🐖🐖
I haven't seen this film in absolute ages and yet I still remember that song "If I Had Words" for so long when it played in the credits.
Though he's top-billed, James Cromwell's role is basically a supporting role, hence his Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category. (Kevin Spacey won that year for "The Usual Suspects".)
🐖🐖🐖
I have never been more excited for a collab!! I love both of your channels! 😃
Aw thank you!!🐖🐷🐽✨
@@MaryCherryOfficialThanks piggy 🐷
@CineBingeReact It might remind you a bit of Hobbiton because Babe was filmed by Andew Lesnie who was the cinematographer on both Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. ;)
Loved Babe as a kid, one of my favourite movies. This is actually why James Cromwell became Vegan and an animal rights activist. Henson did an amazing job with the puppets, which isn't surprising, but I wish we got more practical effects in movies.
A great double review from two of my favourites!!!
My two favorite reaction channels, leaps and bounds above most in charm and laughs. Great to see both together not only in one upload but two! This was great, thanks.
This was one of those movies that felt really personal like you were the only person that remembered it. The second one even more so, a lot of people don’t even know the second movie exists which is sad tbh cause imo it’s just as good as the first even not actually better. I hope you guys watch the second!
I started watching Cinebinge because RUclips kept recommending them after watching Mary Cherry. It’s a great team up! Keep em coming!
Love this collaboration. Such a great movie to watch. My nephew was about 3 years old when the movie came out and would cry and cry if we tried to turn this movie off. Thanks for bringing a smile to me face today. Babe Pig in the City is worth a watch as well.🐽🐷🐖
Good choice Mary, when people think of Australian movies, usually Crocodile Dundee is the first one that comes to mind.
Then follow by Yahoo
The Castle
Red Dog
The Dish
And many more aussie classics...
Wow….talk about a blast of heavy nostalgia. of all the classics I never expected anyone to react to BABE. Very much appreciated. I watched this when I was a wee lad and it is one of my all time nostalgic films. Thank you for the memories the music alone brings tears to my eyes
Simone does the most silly and random intros which are fun and always interesting, so cool to see three of my favorite reactors.
There was a movie called Gordy that came out around the same time, and that movie did have humans understand the pig.
BABE is AUSTRALIAN?! I had no idea, but I wore out the VHS copy I had when I was a kid. BAA RAM EWE!
Camille Saint-Saëns - Symphony No. 3 in C major, op. 78. There are two movements so while I recommend listening to both movements, it's the 2nd that is the important one here. Great reaction, guys, and this was a cross over much needed but wholly unexpected. :)
I remember I had the soundtrack on cassette... LOL
It had the narrator, the chapter title, the mice singing, and some of the voice acting
Oh Wow, Mary, I always assumed that NSW, Queensland, Victoria etc were considered Provinces, not States, like Canada's for some reason. idk? Maybe because of similar ties to 🇬🇧 We learn something everyday😊.... I had a giggle when you told Canadians that Australia is really big❤
Babe will always be one of my childhood favorites
Wonderful reaction to a classic. Great job Mary, Gorge and Simone
I saw this upload and scream whispered "Ahhh I love Babe!" :D
I confess that when I'm very high this has been my #1 go-to movie for years, something about it utterly immerses me in the best way possible and I'm laughing until I see stars, it never fails.
another seriously under rated Australian film is Predestination (2014), it has a storyline i have never seen in another film or book, it is amazing!
this movie (Babe) was adapted from a book called Sheep-Pig by Dick King Smith, i read it in the 80s when i was about 8 years old, the sheep walking 2 by 2 was done with string keeping them in line if i remember the making of correctly....
Next Australian movie to do would be Red Dog!
I grew up with this movie in the 90s. I loved it and watched it so many times.
I still say “that’ll do, pig” all the time, which confuses the heck out of my kid, lol.
Babe is voiced by the late Christine Cavanaugh, who was most famous for voicing Dexter in Dexter's Lab and Chuckie in Rugrats. Fly is voiced by Miriam Margolyes, most known as Proffesor Sprout in the Harry Potter movies and voices the Matchmaker in Disney's Mulan.
Rex is voiced by Hugo Weaving, best known for playing Elrond in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies and Agent Smith in The Matrix trilogy voicing Megatron in Miacheal Bay's Transformers trilogy.
Dutchess the Cat is voiced by the late Russi Taylor who was most famous for voicing Minnie Mouse up until her death in 2019 (10 years after her husband Wayne Alwine passed away, who was the voice of Mickey Mouse from Mickey's Christmas Carol up until his death), Huey. Dewy and Louie and Webby Vanderquack in several Disney productions including DuckTales, Baby Gonzo in Muppet Babies and Martin Prince, Sherri and Terri in The Simpsons.
Ferdinand is voiced by Danny Mann who voiced Percy in Disney's Pocahontas, Construction Worker Steve in Upand Skippy in the now defunct Magic Kingdom Attractions ExtraTERRORestrial: Alien Encounter and Stitch's Great Escape.
I love this movie. I love u guys too. Fan of both channels. Great collaboration!!
🐖🐖🐖
So glad I’m vegan. No more guilt. James Cromwell was a vegetarian before going vegan because of his role and bonding with the pig IRL. Legend. I couldn’t imagine crying over this movie then eating animals for dinner.
This is pretty cool. I only discovered each of your channels very recently and it's a nice surprise to see you all together.
I've been subscribed to both of y'all for a bit. Good to see the collab. Cheers from Bristol VA, US.
Two of my favourite reaction channels reacting to one of the most heartwarming movies ever! That'll do, pig! Please do more collaborations!
I worked in a cinema in my teens from around 1995 to 1998. This movie was the favourite of everyone working at the cinema in that period. We all loved it. I’ve seen it so many times. It’s perfect
When I’m depressed I’m going to picture Simone doing that dance 😂
I subscribed the moment I heard “something passed between the two of them” … The rest of the reaction confirmed I have a new channel to look forward to. I discovered Mary a couple of years ago. She is at the top of my favorite reactors. Cheers Y’all !!!!
In an interview, James Cromwell said he took this role because there were so few lines. Later, he realized he was in 90% of the scenes, so not a quick job after all. 😅
Long time Cinebinge fan and now a fan of yours too. Do more crossover content, I loved it.
This film is my father's favorite film to watch w/ his grandkids.
Film did such a great job of adapting a storybook about following your heart and not being confined to "expected" roles
The author of the book, Sheep Pig, by Dick King Smith, is actually a farmer and has written a whole bunch of talking animal books.
