If you stop the video at 1:07 it's lleft of the rectangular black box (airfilter housing). And the cable that runs to it is for the warning you get when the washer fluid level is low. Yes even the old W123 had that, as well as a warning light if a lightbulb was broken. And both things without an ecu! To get the fuel filler door open, you push on the front part of it, not the back. (not a button inside) But it locks with central locking.

As per inflation 1 rupee in 1994 is equal to 6.46 rupees today. So 22.5 lacs in 1994 would be equal to 6.46 x 22.5 = 145.35 lacs. That's 1.45 Crores , way less than the 40 Crores figure you wrongly came up with. Just to give another example, petrol was around Rs.17 in 1994. If you multiply 6.46 with 17 it comes to 109.82. Which is close to today's petrol rate.

Mercedes Benz made the worst decision ever by making the wiring harness of the W124 biodegradable 🤦. The wiring harness starts to degrade and cause problems after 10 years. They did this because they realised that people were not upgrading from the w123 because it so reliable.

Driven a 5 cyl diesel, these 124s are unreal. No rattles ,smooth and built like a tank . I wish BMW also bought the cars of that era.
BMWs are still pretty well made particularly the M cars, not as much metal as back in the day but still pretty solid
