So just tell me, why do PC gamers upgrade their graphic card, why don't they just stick with their old 2070 Ti and play games at mid/low settings ? Oh wait, so it's fine to upgrade PC parts to achieve better framerates and visual perks, but it's suddenly a scam when console owners have the option to do the same and buy a console to play their games in quality mode at 60fps instead of 30, reaching visual settings that can vary between high and ultra on a PC, and for a way cheaper price than a comparable PC build.
The issue for me is we were sold hardware on the PS5 that wasn't even capable of running this generation of games. When the PS5 launched how many titles were PS5 only (ie not build for PS4). Now we are finally getting into this gen proper and the hardware isn't sufficient? So they expect us to get a mid gen refresh. BS Also the example you use, which I assume you mean 2070 super, launched in 2019. I have a 2060S and can happily wait for Nvidia 5000 series or AMD 8000. But Sony with the PS5 pro is now asking us to pay monopoly PC prices in November for hardware that will be outdated in January. Console gaming shouldn't be about chasing upgrades

The fact is most third-party developers- even first-party developers- aren’t optimizing their games for the base system, there is a very limited number of exclusives compared to the Nintendo Switch, and if you desire for better graphics and performance, you can just upgrade to a PC for the same price, and it will be financially more valuable in the long run with upgradable hardware. If you desire a disc drive and stand (should have came with a stand in the first place) that already comes with the PS5, you have to spend an additional $110 plus tax. Moreover, they are inflating the prices internationally. Scalpers are already getting their hands on the majority of these systems, and people will still buy it. To add fuel to the fire, many of the features the base PS5 offered were underutilized and grossly over-exaggerated. What technical performances should have been on the PS5 is now being delivered on the professional, more expensive model. If you have constructive criticism on his opinion, you can do it without sounding like a “redittor.”

I'm getting it regardless of price. Aside from the Full optimization upgrades. It is already proven to make make base PS5 games run more stable and games with dynamic resolution, run at the highest res possible. PS4 games are also gertimg a quality boost aka Game Boost. Meaning PS4 games will look more sharper. Don't know how exactly but would be pretty sweet if you could brute force PSSR on them
With the disc drive and stand the PS5 is easily 1000 US dollars in Europe for no reason because the base PS5 is exactly the same price in every part of the world, the same for the Switch and the Xbox series X and S
60 fps, FF7 rebirth says it all on PS5 normal, terrible resolution in performance mode. The choppiness is an inferior experience. PS5 pro allows 60 fps and resolution even better than PS5 normal's fidelity mode in 30 fps Unless Digital Foundry is lying, Im buying it

I don't think it's about being broke I think the value this console has is not warranted the 200 dollar price increase over the base model, at lease with the $200 dollar hard drive its specifications and type of drive is what gives it that value because those drive can transfer GIGABYTES of data when cheaper alternatives only do megabytes allowing for almost no load times in games and better performance when entering new areas, so yeah the hard drive is more worth it then the console that has almost no benefits to it's pervious model.

Resolution will look the same on small screens, not on large screens. Large screens are the reason they keep having to up the resolution. 1080p looked good until we got larger screens and its the same with 4k. I have seen 100 inch screens already out. The Ps5 pro is cheap. My rtx 3080 tri cost over a thousand, processor was around 400 with a total of about 2700 for the complete gaming tower so the Ps5 pro looks cheap to me. The ps5 pro will be amazing just wait and see.

There are some games that are struggling on base PS5 such as Alan Wake 2. Game is ridiculously blurry and has performance issues in many areas. If the Pro can clean up those framerate dips and improve the image quality significantly with PSSR then I think it's a worthy upgrade. Hell, I'm playing Silent Hill 2 right now and that game has some pretty bad performance dips too that I would love to see cleaned up on the Pro. I'll wait to see some performance analysis after the console is out before I start to consider it though.

Let me start off with I'm not a PC master race guy I have living room pc and office pc a ps5 and nintendo switch I feel that alot of the ps5 community is unable to find the details as easy as a pc gamer because you haven't had the experiences in game to notice yet there seems to be difficulty for many to see the main differences being the lighting and shadows The big difference in the aerith photo was the shadow detail which is extremely noticeable from her hair shadowing on her face. As for the official pro benefiting games. From what I've seen and read most is shadowing lighting and additional physics like more quantity and quaility flying debris fire smoke water flow etc that is shown on screen. I can completely empathize that those that haven't had ray tracing can't appreciate it at this point. When the rtx 2000 series came out there was still a lackluster appreciation for it but it does grow on you and become more apparent in games without. I'll also add that the price is a bit high for what you get especially when you factor in the extra 100 for disc and stand. I traded in my ps5 and already bought the drive and stand so I'm locked in but whether you buy it or don't I hope everyone's enjoying their gameplay
I never mentioned raytracing because well I don't think it adds much to the graphics, but that was a subjective opinion and the entire video is still very opinionated but one I felt I could back up with clips I saw in the reveal. However, it's like I said in the beggining, I don't think anyone is stupid for buying this console and if people think they will get their value out of it then I think that's amazing and they should go for it!
No one is buying the PS5 pro for 8k. We are buying it for our 4k TVs so we can play the games we love with both fps and graphics settings simultaneously, which is exactly how they marketed it. In the case of Rebirth for example you have a more stable 60 and the textures are better than the normal ps5 in even graphics mode. Should it be 700? No. But it's far from a scam. And you can make fun of people who can see the difference on graphics but that doesn't invalidate our opinion. You obviously don't care that much about those details, which is fine, but some others do.
I just find it funny how some ppl like to make the argument that complaining about the price somehow makes you "broke". The same ppl who are happy to buy a PS5 Pro also complain about high-end office chairs, citing that they are massively overpriced and overrated. What they don't understand is the overall value proposition, as for someone like me who WFH 6-8 hours each day, I need something to support my back properly.

Cerny literally showed the last of us running on the pro version vs performance mode & then fidelity mode showing that with the pro version there is no longer a compromise and you don’t have to pick one or the other cause with the pro version of games you will be able to get that high frame rate at fidelity level graphics. That’s literally the entire point of the presentation and that alone is worth the upgrade

Alan Wake 2 in performance mode is so compromised and GT7 cannot maintain 60fps in races with more than like 8 care. If i can get high res alan wake with the fidelity visual features running at 60, and a stable GT7 with ray tracing, ill spend the money teehee. Also gta 6 anyone?

Nvidia and Sony are both fisting gamers. Only option is choosing the least painful direction to aim our asses in. That being said i do wish Gamers all unite and unanimously refuse to buy the Ps5 Pro so the poor sales numbers convince Sony to drop the price to a more palatable $599. Same with Nvidia GPUs. I dont see a single game coming out in 2025 except maybe Death Stranding 2 which justifies getting a Pro at launch. Resolution will look the same on small screens, not on large screens. Large screens are the reason they keep having to up the resolution. 1080p looked good until we got larger screens and its the same with 4k. I have seen 100 inch screens already out. The Ps5 pro is cheap. My rtx 3080 tri cost over a thousand, processor was around 400 with a total of about 2700 for the complete gaming tower so the Ps5 pro looks cheap to me. The ps5 pro will be amazing just wait and see.
My Custome PC build cost me 3k and yea RTX 3080 still rips but on the adge on some games and cost 500$ just for the GPU 🤦🏻♂️ I think PS5 is a dam good deal, you must have all 3 systems this days 😂 there is no other option, Xbox, PlayStation and PC and they all must be good preforming

There are some games that are struggling on base PS5 such as Alan Wake 2. Game is ridiculously blurry and has performance issues in many areas. If the Pro can clean up those framerate dips and improve the image quality significantly with PSSR then I think it's a worthy upgrade.
Hell, I'm playing Silent Hill 2 right now and that game has some pretty bad performance dips too that I would love to see cleaned up on the Pro.
I'll wait to see some performance analysis after the console is out before I start to consider it though.
Bro, it isn't the base PS5 that is doing all of that. It's the game, itself. They may have to give it patch, soon enough. Probably they'll patch it, when it becomes ps5 pro enhanced. Also, I'm playing silent hill 2 on the base ps5 and it's working, just fine. Although it does have a few dips in performance but that doesn't bother me, it would arguably get a patch, sometime soon. also, you wouldn't see a difference, when it's gonna be played on the ps5 pro, because guess what? it doesn't look like it's gonna be ps5 pro enhanced for this year, idk. maybe very soon it'd be ps5 pro enhanced or maybe this year, who knows? I feel that alot of the ps5 community is unable to find the details as easy as a pc gamer because you haven't had the experiences in game to notice yet there seems to be difficulty for many to see the main differences being the lighting and shadows
The big difference in the aerith photo was the shadow detail which is extremely noticeable from her hair shadowing on her face. As for the official pro benefiting games. From what I've seen and read most is shadowing lighting and additional physics like more quantity and quaility flying debris fire smoke water flow etc that is shown on screen.
I can completely empathize that those that haven't had ray tracing can't appreciate it at this point. When the rtx 2000 series came out there was still a lackluster appreciation for it but it does grow on you and become more apparent in games without.
I'll also add that the price is a bit high for what you get especially when you factor in the extra 100 for disc and stand.
I traded in my ps5 and already bought the drive and stand so I'm locked in but whether you buy it or don't I hope everyone's enjoying their gameplay
I never mentioned raytracing because well I don't think it adds much to the graphics, but that was a subjective opinion and the entire video is still very opinionated but one I felt I could back up with clips I saw in the reveal. However, it's like I said in the beggining, I don't think anyone is stupid for buying this console and if people think they will get their value out of it then I think that's amazing and they should go for it!

No one is buying the PS5 pro for 8k.
We are buying it for our 4k TVs so we can play the games we love with both fps and graphics settings simultaneously, which is exactly how they marketed it.
In the case of Rebirth for example you have a more stable 60 and the textures are better than the normal ps5 in even graphics mode.
Should it be 700? No. But it's far from a scam.
And you can make fun of people who can see the difference on graphics but that doesn't invalidate our opinion.

Cerny literally showed the last of us running on the pro version vs performance mode & then fidelity mode showing that with the pro version there is no longer a compromise and you don’t have to pick one or the other cause with the pro version of games you will be able to get that high frame rate at fidelity level graphics. That’s literally the entire point of the presentation and that alone is worth the upgrade

Alan Wake 2 in performance mode is so compromised and GT7 cannot maintain 60fps in races with more than like 8 care. If i can get high res alan wake with the fidelity visual features running at 60, and a stable GT7 with ray tracing, ill spend the money teehee. Also gta 6 anyone?

Nvidia and Sony are both fisting gamers. Only option is choosing the least painful direction to aim our asses in. That being said i do wish Gamers all unite and unanimously refuse to buy the Ps5 Pro so the poor sales numbers convince Sony to drop the price to a more palatable $599. Same with Nvidia GPUs. I dont see a single game coming out in 2025 except maybe Death Stranding 2 which justifies getting a Pro at launch. Paying 175% for a somehwhat 50% graphical boost when we know in a mere 4yrs the Ps6 will be better for a lesser price.
