Pixel does not have headphone jack and does not have expandable memory. Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 has both of these.
And that's why I love MY PHONE!😊
I am suprised that the reviewer didnot mention these two as you pointed out. Memory Sd card extension and handphone jack.
These two features are the most essential ones for me to decide for a phone after speed of cpu and ram.
You left out the most important Motorola feature! SD card slot for up to 1Tb of extra storage! That's a MAJOR Pro!

Bigger display, 3.5 mm jack, 5000 mah battery, stylus, no bricking or overheating issues and discounted price more than justifies the Moto g stylus over the pixel in my book. I’m still rocking a 2020 moto g stylus and it works like a champ!
Using my new 8a and is awesome, I always didn't like much motorola. Battery, almost no difference because I use 60hz, headphone jack? There are usb c headphones. No problem. The only thing is the sd card, which I use for photos, but 256gb does the work. If you have the money, then the difference is going to show up.
And you forgot about the speed the software updates for long time use and the cameras but ok
It depends on the deal you can get on the Moto G Stylus. It's $199 right now on Straight Talk and $260 on Visible. You get 1 OS update and 3 years of security updates. But if you get the deals on it, you are paying way less than the 8a. Also, another huge concern for me on any Pixel device is any updates bricking their devices. And that's where I've had no such issue on Motorola. But I will say the 8a is a fantastic value simply on support alone.
True the Stylus 5G 2024 is only $129 through Cricket.
0 on Metro. All carrier versions have 128 GB with only 1 colour.

The unlocked versions that are 399.99 have better specs. The carrier versions are bottom of the barrel

I have the Moto and wife has the 8a. Both have been great and all depends on what you prefer.

Definitely would be happy with either but i have the moto 2024 and love it! It really is 1000x. Better than the old moto phones!
I have the 23 version. Definitely an upgrade from even the 2022 5g stylus. Imma see what 2025 brings to offer. Maybe ill go with the edge
In 2024 I just compared the two 2024 models at Best Buy and stuck with the Moto G Power 5G (2024) at $299.95. I'm coming from an older Motorola Edge. The Motorola that I bought today has 128 GB memory, but it has the SD slot for the additional 256. That headphone jack acts as an antenna for its built-in FM radio if we ever lose communication with the outside world. The screen and battery life are great. The Pixel does have an AI chip in it (processor chip?) and more future Android updates, but I'll be trading up in a few years as the battery and technology have changed.
The only real upsides on the Pixel 8a are longer software support and a higher IP rating. You won’t notice a huge difference in brightness unless you’ve had a device with higher brightness. Take a look at both phones then forget the prices for a minute. Motorola has seriously updated their build game and having owned both Pixels and Motorola phones, I can tell you that the G Stylus might be the more reliable option. Pixels are widely known to have all kinds of nasty bugs and glitches not to mention updates that do wonky things to those devices. Even if Motorola had given 2 OS updates and 5 total years of security updates, the G Stylus would be the easy choice. And even with those issues, I’d still choose the Motorola each time. Once I see what the Pixel 9 lineup offers, I’d either get it or the G Stylus.
If you plan on keeping the phone for several years (which a lot of people don't lately), then 4 - 7 years of updates doesn't matter.
I had the 8a and it heated up from minimal use such as web browsing so even though it's the better phone technically and gets more updates doesn't matter if you can't use it as you should be able to.

Moto 5G wins. King of budget phones. 8a looks like ass, ridiculous bezels. Although you can't tell because he has conveniently used a dark background that hides the bezels.
There's going to be things that Google's Pixel 8a offers with regards to quick and yearly OS updates / security patches (because Google is a larger company than Lenovo / Motorola), yet Google has offered up problems such as 'overheating' (they do fix it after enough feedback).
I 💜 the fact that Motorola is listening to feedback and is improving upon each Device every year (sometimes you want them to do more but if they did? The device would cost more).
I don't ever own a device over 3 years - I do look for enough RAM and ROM (I like what Motorola has done, where you can make the device use up ROM to double the RAM).
I think sale price is going to move the product - I'm convinced by October? You're going to see a $299 G Stylus 5G (and a $350 Pixel 8a) - depending on Carrier agreement? Some will obtain these devices for free.
Pixel has better software for the camera, but I'm thankful for the improvements Motorola is achieving (if we really wanted competition? Then TCL, Plus One Nord, Nokia would rise to the occasion and do better!)
This is the 1st year that the G Stylus 5G and Edge have the fingerprint scanner under the screen (you don't get that wall charger, what did you get wireless charging AND High charging rates).
If you don't need a Stylus? If you don't care about screen size? The Pixel 8a works great vs paying more for the 8 or 8 Pro (Google is cranking out Pixel device is so fast that you can't keep up - lol).
If you ❤ using a Stylus? I think Motorola made plenty of improvements in the design of the stylist for 2024 as well as the software / functions. Stepmom is enjoying her's , I got one more year before I buy another one (I'm optimistic that next year the Stylus 5G is going to have further improvements). There's going to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon (7th Gen), the question is will it compete with Google's Tensor Chipset?

FIRST VIEWER! Did you really read my comment about in pros and cons video of Pixel 8a? Ain't no way! 😲 Anyways, correction: Pixel 8a does come with 256GB ROM but only Obsidian color. OK I MADE MY DECISION... I'm staying with the Google Pixel 8a, but I will never stop supporting Motorola 😁!

What good is seven years if Pixel 8a gets less Ai features as time goes on? If you want to know how Google will support the Pixel 8a in three years just look at the Pixel 6/6 Pro/6a today. Imo Moto G Stylus 5G is the better deal hands down.
Google and Samsung announced to keep up with apple that Google starting with the pixel 8 and future, Samsung with the s23 and up guarantee 7 yrs of updates on their flagship line (Galaxy s series and pixel series) so if they keep their word (guarantee in theirs) then pixel 8a will have 7 years of andriod updates which the 7 and down did n will not.

I love the Moto.. I came from pixel 6 pro. The Moto is a faster phone.. Lighter also.. I have had every pixel made.. Pixel is very nice but moto is a good phone if you want a stylus.. On amazon I head for 250-350 new..

I highly doubt anybody is keeping a pixel 8A for 7 years. But that's great that they have the support. Motorola should really have two OS updates with 3 years of security patch support by now. At least on their phones that are above the $299 MSRP.

I'm still thinking I want the moto, I had the Galaxy S10 and loved it. I'm using GOOGLE PIXEL 7 right now, but like the moto setup and battery much better.

$40 for a G Stylus 2024. I'll go with that use my fold 3 as backup.
Moto G also has a SD card slot that is expandable up to 2GB and a headphone jack for audio options.

Pixel is killing it on damn near all levels. Not gonna lie the display sizes size is better on Moto.
After 1 year, that motorola is going to show the real truth, laggy, choopy display, and even slow but slow loading. Meanwhile, 8a is going to go like new for 2 years because I still can't believe someone uses the same phone over 3 years😂

Only one OS update from Android 14 to 15 is pathetic.
Samsung's cheapest $100 A-05 will get 3 years OS updates & 4 years' worth of quarterly security patches.
Only cool things on the Motorola are the stylus and 6.7" display, but S24 Ultra has that beat plus Samsung is increasing flagship OS updates from 4 years to 7 years 🤩
This is true because Samsung and Google are huge companies compared to Lenovo / Motorola (but there's no competition from TCL, Nord, Nokia - because you don't get proper updates from any of their devices).
So now the question is - when it comes to quality Android devices, Why do Consumers only have three manufactured choices ?

We need Sony, LG, TCL, One Plus, Nothing, etc with mid-tier devices (we deserve more choices).

I have both. Pixel fuckin sucks. Like really sucks. Motorola 5g stylus 2024 ks the bets phone ive ever had personally. Im a mid-range phone enthusiast and not ourchas high end phones. This is my perspective as a mid -range user of these two phones.
