Playing as Emma and not having built an actual trap layout until late-mid game, I picked Eli first and when I started struggling with better tier agents, I got Jubei!
As a Madman in Red with Bazooka.... just go with Jubei he just gets in and kills everyone! Teleport also a really good response to the enemy action especially in mid-game.
That's what happens when you open up a youtube channel off a laptop without a designated graphics card. Do you remember the time stamp? I do also make a few quick pauses in the gameplay.
Loved it, I usually use Iris as a meatbag while the minions with pistols and rifles just do damage from range(Whats even cooler is that a lot of enemies doesn’t lose their aggro on Iris when she uses her self heal and with Emma it is pretty cheesy) and minimizing losses. It’s pretty much a good way of avoiding minion desertions b/c of dead body debuff. Anyways good vid.
Very good guide, thank you! I used Eli first and I think whenever I run the other 3 evil geniuses he'll be my first pick for all (except maybe Jubei for Ivan).
I think Jubei's ability to teleport in and tear up the enemy makes him tops, this greatly reduces early minion casualties - he's also the best for your first time play because of the ease of use. Mr. Barracuda is pretty fun though for a more involved genius/henchman relationship. I've been struggling to get through with Janet in my 2nd playthru, and she is truly terrible, but her abilities do have some diamond in the rough sort of quality to them. The weapon hack appears to me to also greatly reduce the enemy damage output, which is great when those first super destructive killer "Average" agents show up... but she can't use it on Super agents (or at least the two I've tried it on?). Her ability to erase suspicion is borderline useless (agents escaping with suspicion doesn't feel like it matters?) EXCEPT it utterly neutralizes Agent X, she can tag Agent X, wipe his suspicion, then he wanders your base for ages, occasionally getting an update from Janet, leave Patriot zones clear to pillage with little effort! Also, I'm using her with Emma, so when Symmetry broke out of my vault with super strong Average agents, Janet was able to hack 2 of them to stop being super minion murder machines, which may actually be pretty amazing? Except, not compared to double Jubei Flow, or Silver Guns, so... meh.
It even works characterwise: Jubei probably knew Eli Barracuda Sr. during their time working for the previous evil genius, So working with his son that has a similar fighting style is easier for him to work with.
@@ZetsubouGintama Jubei: "Ah, the young upstart takes the place of his old man. Face like his father, Wit like his mother, with the ambitions of both" Eli Jr. :"How's my aim?" Jubei: "Terrible. You need three bullets to kill someone. Your father only needed one"
@@ivanivan744 To be fair super headshot is sound OP. But I wish Eli Jr. have his father's disco ability. But silver tongue and distract stunlock is good combo.
janet is not the only way to lower suspicion. Casino welcome desk and the complain desk both lowers agents suspicion, personally have a welcome desk at each entrance and a complain one near an area where they might find some.
Ah good point. I've now got a nice welcome desk and complaint desk in my casino too :) I set up little red ropes to funnel people past my welcome desk rather than build multiples and I actually really like the way it looks.
@@TeddyNinja Oooh! Love the idea of using the ropes to funnel people, did something basic with them by just blocing off certain paths. Will have to consider your idea for my own thing. Got a kitchen and sleeping quaters seperate from main base and made sure the food is only open for deception minions. Prevents workers and guards from strutting through and get into fights with agents. Though I do lose deception minions when agents stumble in there before being lead back.
I believe a good use for Iris' second ability is if you don't put cameras in certain corridors you can have her run to that corridor if you spotted agents and then use that ability to trigger guard reinforcements to come to her aid, the camera effect doesn't have to remain active the whole time from my understanding so just quickly turn it on, trigger the reinforcement wave, then use her to stall the enemies (or kill them all) until your reinforcements arrive to help out. Otherwise it's hit or miss if guard minions will end up in a position to help her. Still pretty situational though.
I am thinking Iris is the har counter to Olga whrn she coming front door. Greet Olga and her team with Iris then activate a camera when Olga started shooting then seeing all muscle in the base coming to teared up the female Dirk Master like a hungry hounds.
A very important power of Iris is her camera view! Because with that, it s the only way to call all muscle to the fighting scene, if there is no camera or if the camera doesn't work.
Interestingly, each of the starter henchmen could double down on your evil genius Eli is best for max due to his all rounder, iris is best for zalikia for science Janet is best for Emma in counter spying and jubei is best for red Ivan doubling down on attack
Yep, they give a rough color code to matching the specialization of henchmen and evil geniuses so at a glance you can double down on your strengths or go for something to help balance out your team. Put me on team Max + Eli though!
yeah,Janet was actually the first henchman (or henchwoman) I picked, I thought she would fangirl over you and be funny, like "MAX am your biggest fan, I loved when you conquered the world" but no, and she is also terrible.
@@morrogin5986 late game, like quantum chemist late, don't recruit eli, Jubei, magnolia ming & daniel, then you can unlock her, note that once you do have her, you can get those 4. Painful to not get all the best muscle boys for most of a run just for her.

honestly Janet is just a hard pass in all aspects and unfortunately Jubei and Eli are as well if you want full metal Jackie because they at this version have to be your enemies to allow her side story to work so your kinda stuck with iris because of this.
Yup, IRIS is fine but she's no Jubei. If you are planning on getting jackie Iris is probably the best henchmen you are going to be able to get early. I have issue with parts of Incendio and fugu's kits and don't love carl or clara either so it makes jackie really a pain.

Jubei, no regrets, other than the fact that the Iris unlock missions are cancer

Forgive me if I’m wrong but isn’t Janets name a reference to the people who hacked the enigma machine?
Close! It was a device used by the people who hacked the Enigma Engine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombe
