    I filmed this about a week ago and just wanted to let you know the plant is doing so well! Better than expected lol. I only had one bottom leaf yellow from stress. I'll be filming a plant update this week so I'll be sure to show it!

    Hi looks great! I just bought some of the clear poles I’m going to try using very chunky soil with coco chunks instead of moss for poles. So I’m not organized enough to use potting mat… Walmart fabric area has plastic with felt like stuff on back with monstera plants on it can by any size you want or a plastic table cloth for like a picnic table works great to do big potting jobs! No need for towels and easy clean up if ya want to give it a try :)

    You need to get a big blue tarp for these large plant repots.

    Melissa, can you do an update on this? I have 4 types of these plants that I’m trying to decide what to do with. I don’t know if I should do a trellis or just a support moss pole or a real moss pole. I also like the full look and don’t want to waste time watering a moss pole if it doesn’t attach to it.

    I really don’t like when the syngoniums grow one vine up. I feel it looks weird too! So like, in the wild, they do change leaf shape but I don’t know if the albos will!

    I had mine on a pole for awhile, like you, I felt like it just didnt look right. No matter how many props I added to the pot it looked leggy up the pole I did not see a major leaf size growth advantage from the pole. If i can't get bigger leaves then i wanted more fullness to showcase those pretty leaves I've since moved it to a bamboo fan trellis and I love the full look. It looks full up top now because I can spread it out and attach the stems more flat. It seems to like it better than the pole set up. The leaves are sprouting more evenly across the trellis, rather than bunched at the bottom and leggy vines on my pole . Will be interesting to see how it does on your new clear pole. The more flat surface may help. Such a pretty plant. It's trial and error, but that is part of the fun too! Thank you for the videos, love em' ! ~Lynn

      Thank you so much! I added soo many props in the pot and only one vine wanted to climb lol I love the full look but it didn’t seem to grow how I wanted it to. I have other syngoniums I’m trying to decide what to do with. I may just use a stake or some sort of trellis like you did for them 🤔

    Lecca Queen made a video 8 months ago in which she said that using sphagnum moss poles was a bad idea. She’s now suggesting making a tree fern fiber moss pole. What’s your opinion on this ? I just bought 5 sphagnum moss poles last week .

    I loved your video and your plants are beautiful! I’ve tried moss poles in the past but I had a hard time keeping them wet, do you have any tips so they don’t dry out? ❤

    I'll try putting my syng albo on a moss pole. It's hated being treated like my other syngs, so maybe this will work instead.

    Очень мало корней, поэтому нет смысла в этих тотемах! Они очень сухие и нет питания для растений. Вы очень красивая и Ваши растения тоже! Мне нравится эстетика❤

    What about your clear tape you’ve used in the past? The grafting tape?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Год назад

      Yes, I still use it! The velcro was towards the bottom so it's not too noticeable and the clear tape isn't as secure as the velcro. I really wanted to make sure it was against the moss well.

      You can wait it out longer or you can chop back to where you last see green. This one was doing every other leaf variegation for awhile and then it suddenly stopped. It's so random sometimes!

      It is! It’s better to get the diy poles, they’re the same price for way more ($15-$25)
