Formed 1987 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada with two impactful full-length studio albums Fallen Angel of Doom (Wild Rags Records LA California USA 1990) Gods of War (Osmose Productions France 1993) Nuclear War Now NWN Productions recording artists Blasphemy have amassed an extensive underground fanbase worldwide plus recognition in Europe, with heavy hitters like Nergal from Behemoth and the late great Euronymous from Mayhem paying their respects wearing Blasphemy merch and praising the dark lords in interviews. Blasphemy has performed at metal festivals and headlining shows in Germany, Japan, Brazil, Portugal, Poland, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Austria, forthcoming show at Mystic Festival 2024 in Gdańsk, Poland
Beherit has covered Blasphemy’s “War Command”. Fenriz of Darkthrone included the band’s atmospheric, creepy “Winds of the Black Godz”-made with tape manipulations and slowed-down, back-masked German opera-on a compilation (Fenriz Presents… The Best of Old-School Black Metal).
You can even get a backhanded sense of their importance through what some might call a disrespectful poke in Metallica’s recent video for “ManUNkind”. The clip-which riffs on the tropes of black metal-features movie cast members of the Lords of Chaos movie playing Metallica’s instruments. Metallica’s logo is altered to ape Mayhem’s in the video, and a Blasphemy T-shirt is seen on their drummer.
The band have a reputation for violence, as well as some members being involved in criminal activity; including a member smuggling both narcotics and his girlfriend onto a commercial flight to Amsterdam, throwing some random dude off a balcony to his death, assaulting a police officer, and drug dealing. Consequently, most of the band members have spent time in prison.

My faves are Blood Upon the Altar and Gods of War cause to me they sound the best and have the catchiest parts, recently ordered the double gatefold vinyl with both of those albums.... Can't wait to get it. And honestly, they don't really need to do more albums, they already have 3 great ones out, and considering most band poop the bed by the 3rd one, that's more than enough.

He's definitely yelling at the top of his lungs! I prefer his guttural vocals on Fallen Angel of Doom 🔥 the limited edition demo vinyl with stainless steel plate I've already bought a frame to go with it...can't wait!

Noice. I've been listening since Fallen Angel of Doom came out. I prefer Blasphemy over Impaled Nazarene which was out at the same time.
