I found your video very interesting; for the most part I agree about the points towards technology but some of your points towards historical aspects seem a little swayed. There is new evidence about hunter a gather societies. A 2020 study published in Science Advances analyzed a 9,000-year-old burial in the Andes. The remains of a young woman were found alongside a hunter’s toolkit, challenging the idea that hunting was exclusively a male domain. Similar evidence has been uncovered in other parts of the world, suggesting women actively participated in hunting. Ethnographic studies of contemporary hunter-gatherer societies, like the Hadza in Tanzania, show a more fluid division of labor, with women contributing to hunting in certain contexts and men participating in gathering (Wood & Marlowe, 2013). The concept of rigid gender roles appears to be a cultural construct rather than a universal rule. In prehistoric societies, survival likely depended on flexibility and shared responsibilities, rather than strictly divided tasks.
Always great to have new perspectives. I love it when someone reinforces outside perspectives because it's like a daily reminder to not narrow our thinking, to focus on binomial distributions and not binomial dispositions! I almost got defensive and asked why you had to respond to the video like this, but you could be making a point with a few breadcrumbs; all I need to do is get my head out of potential echo chambers and search. Thanks for _your_ insights. I wonder how it factors into the video, but nonetheless times have changed to a great extent with at least technological innovation and game theory. What do you think this has to do with game-theory as described in this video, if you have the time on your hands? If you don't I'll keep this in mind when thinking about how far we've come.
@@internetscavanger6746 Hey, and thank you for the thoughtful reply. I do appreciate the opportunity to reflect on this. I was more curious myself, as these new findings about gender roles in ancient societies could connect to broader themes like game theory and the video's exploration. From my perspective, game theory provides a useful lens to explore how societal roles evolve and adapt based on survival strategies and incentives. For example, if early humans operated in flexible, situational roles, it suggests that cooperative strategies often took precedence over rigid hierarchies in ensuring group survival. This aligns with a game-theoretic framework where mutual benefit can outweigh individual dominance in certain scenarios. I think these findings challenge us to revisit assumptions about progress. If societal norms historically allowed for greater fluidity in roles based on context and necessity, it might suggest that rigid hierarchies, like those solidified during the agrarian era, weren’t inevitable. Perhaps understanding these dynamics can help us better navigate the systems we create today. What's your thoughts? :) Do you see parallels, or did I just have too much energy drink and got over stimulated 😂
I wonder if the cause and effect were flipped between deities and food production would paint a more accurate picture. The inspiration for the technology has to exist before the technology is built.
Social media addiction is real and it is so sad to see everybody staring at their phones, almost like a slot machine at a casino with random peoples post, opinions, outburst of enthusiasm/positivity or disgust/negativity. Our brains were not made with the cognitive capacity to taken all this infinite information not to mention that it's not even relevant to our lives or our future. The hours that people spend on social media will total years cumulatively. imagine all the things that could've done instead with their time and human potential and energy! I mean, what is gonna be sad about these people in their eulogy? That they spent most of their days scrolling, spectating, and consuming social media, only fans, video games, Instagram, and porn ? It is really pathetic . Companies are ready to take advantage of that cheap dopamine, intermediate gratification. a lot of these people have other addictions to drugs, alcohol, and shopping online I guess

Hey Dan which book did you reffered to for this video on the techno economic history? The idea sounds interesting to me.. So I want to go deeper into it
One question that I would like to ask in part just to play devil's advocate is what is the purpose of meaning? What I mean is to what extent is it important that our pursuits have some sort of deeper meaning or profound important to ourselves and others? It is possible to live a "happy" life where you are just going through the motions or does one have to have a sense of meaning that drives them and defines their purpose?

Nice one
good stuff thanks
2x harder with adhd but i aint the type to make excuses , lets get it done

This points are from Adlerian psychology

Love the video Dan. How would you recommend one find that meaningful project? I watched your recent video on purpose as well, but for the life of me I have been unable to come to any meaningful things in life? For the past few months I've jumped between 10+ different projects and couldnt stick to any of them. What's the secret sauce?
Bitcoin taught me to think long term

Hey Dan which book did you reffered to for this video on the techno economic history? The idea sounds interesting to me.. So I want to go deeper into it
How do you write so powerful message
One question that I would like to ask in part just to play devil's advocate is what is the purpose of meaning? What I mean is to what extent is it important that our pursuits have some sort of deeper meaning or profound important to ourselves and others? It is possible to live a "happy" life where you are just going through the motions or does one have to have a sense of meaning that drives them and defines their purpose?
The meaning of life is to live.
The need to have something to look forward to…without that…it all seems pointless and unnecessary
from the point of this video I guess money and selling others self improvement courses

Long-form content is SUPREME in its utility for harnessing the modern, unprecedented capabilities of the internet. We all need to study, practice, and iterate.
I'm ready to truly determine what my MEANINGFUL PROJECT will be!
The classic Big Mac is tried and tested. I don’t need any new renditions, it is the perfect salt, fat & carb ratio. PS - for those of you that get it, we’re living in a simulation, so none of this matters, really. 🐇🎞️🐇
