@@ScottChesworth Cheers for the advice Scott. Ohh so wild! Usually, every drum kit plugin has a weak point for me! It may be snare sound or toms or artificial cymbals or the sound of low power kick!!! At first look, this drum kit is very powerful and versatile! The large number of toms and their warm sound and strong snare and extreme kick were among the things that attracted me at first sight🤘
Hey Josh, should the kicks -> one shot samples be included in the download to import? I can't find them when trawling through the Kontakt file tree, or if I search ".wav" on my Mac. Complete Kontakt noob here. I can see folders "Instruments, MIDI files, Samples, Snapshots" as my optional folders but nothing like the list of folders you have. Hi! On the kick channel I only have sound on the close2 mic and the room2 mic, the other ones are silent? Already reinstalled it on NativeAccess but still no sound. Am I missing something out? Thanks for advice;)
If you load the default kit up, the overhead kick mic faders are set to 0. If you don't have any MIDI programmed on the left kick then you won't hear it. Seems like that's your issue?
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial Hey Dude, actually that was the issue😑sorry my fault..I misunderstood the routing. Thanks for your quick help, really cool! And those drums are excellent✌
I bought them and absolutely love them. They literally fit perfectly in the 3 existing sessions i had without any extra work. Any recommendations on midi velocities for snare?
Awesome! Absolutely love to hear it. Every snare’s different and has a different characteristic or processing. There are usually 6-7 layers. Either 2-3 layers of rim-shots from 100 up. Just have a play around with the velocity. You definitely wont struggle to make very realistic snare rolls with all the articulations 👊🏻
Well TBH I was always hoping for a Toontrack library from Josh, because although I love EZd3 & SSD3 for writing, soundwise none of the TT libraries satisfied me 100%. This Kontakt instrument matches the sound in my head when I think of Metal drums. So I guess I will just use EZd3 to program drums and route its MIDI out to MDL Drums. :-)
Sounds awesome Josh! Though I love the type of music this library seems to mainly be going for (sylosis, Maschine head, pantera, Testament), the music that i write is rather on the Architects, Spiritbox sie of things. Any kit or presets in your library you can recommend for that stuff? Btw. The naming is awesome too
This kit has everything covered. Load up the ‘modern metalcore kit’ and you will be very happy! Keep checking back on the channel for other demos and styles. There are presets based on Green Day, Deftones, Jimmy Eat World, BMTH. Check the website and listen to all the examples on the audio player.
