    Lil Reds are cool. I've got a good friend that has 10 of them. I work on them for him. The 3 prong oil pressure switch does feed the choke wire. It kills power to the choke if the engine dies. I think the sensor in the runner is an intake charge temperature switch. Alternator field wires will work either way if they're long enough.

    Can't believe you don't have the carb plate adapter to pull engines they are plenty cheap. Like yourself I have seen plenty of "custom" work done on vehicles that really make one scratch their head like WTH were they thinking or not thinking. I quit wearing my wedding ring years ago when I worked as an electrician, wasn't allowed and after watching many safety films where people lost their fingers because of a ring on their finger I never went back to wearing it, it is safe in the dresser drawer, my finger is a little safer as well.

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  Год назад

      Thanks, Stephen. My dad actually energized his ring on a hot battery post and it gave him a scar there. As for the plates, I just don’t trust them.

    • @stephenwest798
      @stephenwest798 Год назад

      We had an electronics guy at the plant that lost his ring finger due to an electrical short, but it is not just electrical contact that can cause one to lose their finger, many have been ripped off and I kind of like my fingers myself as they come in handy at times. As far as the carberator plates I have pulled 440's with the transmission attached using a ratchet strap to balance or keep level with no issues so I believe they are trustworthy, I have a chain with small flat plates welded to the ends w/holes I use for six cylinders sometimes using a ratchet strap to balance them. I guess it is just what you're comfortable with, but I have never heard of a carberator plate failing.@@JustMoparJoe

    I'd kill for the factory ac stuff, top to bottom, every bit down to the dash vents. Talk about rarity in the old D/W's? Find a factory air truck with all the bits intact. Totally baffles the hell out of me why they want aftermarket. Just fix whats wrong with whats already there? I'd put the cost of the truck on a bet that the original setup will kick the crap out of anything aftermarket.
    Not sure if the owner cares or already knows, if so disregard the following!!! I do not believe that is an actual little red, likely a clone. Can you tell me if its got JS in the 4th n 5th slot of the VIN? Also the first digits on the stamped engine vin should say 9W. I mean this thing has a lot of the right stuff in the right places but some of the little oddballs are missing like the metal ID tag on the firewall, there isnt even a hole for the screw drilled so that tells me that the guys messing with it didnt "lose the tag" during detail work or paint. Also in my handy dandy vin book there is a specific chapter that denotes just because there a truck has the S in the right place on the vin does not mean it is a LRE or Warlock. Just meant that it had the HP 4bbl 360. That is where these guys come along and make the clone trucks from. Hell, I had a green one of the 78 step sides my uncle bought off the forest service that had S in the vin.
