Tax raises for corporations and the wealthiest. How hard is that? The notion that tax breaks for corporations and wealthy citizens spur “innovation” is patently false. IF the recipient of a tax cut uses that money to hire people, train people, grow the infrastructure, etc, those claims would be justified.
More money in the hands of the working class is what grows an economy as that money is spent and not reinvested unto stock schemes.

@@garethwilliams4467 Brexit cost us 8 times that figure at least. The £350 million a week was more than our net contribution to the EU. So that figure was not related to being in the EU. The 4 years before the referendum we also increased the NHS budget by £400 million a week. Yes, we have since 2016 done that again. However, it comes from cuts in other departments and raising taxes. Brexit actually made it worse because we had huge extra Brexit costs and reduction in what would have been our tax base.

The problem is we simply don't have the leasders to force those on benefits into work, even though we have jobs available thus we could reduce our outgoings for any interim shortfall whilst crap companies adjust. Of course the 350 million per week is related to the EU - and the NHS has had more than that since then. Nothing wrong with cutting departmetns if they aren't producing anything. Nothing wrong with tax in areas to nudge behaviour. Look at the figures. The brexit costs were a one off and with proper leadership we should be making money through new trade deals.
