Nice to see some old videos from old days. Drivers GLADIATORS, cars screaming around the track, old layouts with consequences, so you need balls to be brave. But every single time I watch F1 from 1994, I am missing something 😪.
Damon Hill in no means was as fast as Senna and definitely got gifted the title with the best car in 1996 but Ferrari 412t1 had 860hp out of its v12 engine that season which is crazy considering the next years car had 160hp less... I think that was the sole reason they ran so well In Monza and Hockenheim
@@cay7809 it was specifically modified after Senna's request to have more comfort driving - only after that mod. the column was moving as much. Never happend before, to that degree, in any f1 car.
In a way Monza and Imola were/are very similar circuits: both built into some kind of park, fast bends, straights and chicanes, Marlboro logos on curbs, etc. The start of Monza - Curva Grande - Lesmo part is also a bit like a mirror image of Tamburello - Tosa, although with the difference that Tamburello (and Villeneuve) was easily driven flat out, so it was thought that chicanes were not needed - up to 1994. Just to be sure, after '94 they also modified Curva Grande to get more run-off area, even though there already were chicanes before and after it.
How and why Senna died and crashed at imola is unbelievable to see David Colter David Hill still racing why Senna is dead makes no sense to me, such an unfortunate tragedy for one of the best race car drivers ever I'll never forget that day unbelievable
@@vain_11 Patrese retired in '93 no? And Senna was given offers by Ferrari team boss at Imola '94 for a seat at Ferrari in 1995; since Senna wanted to finish his career at Ferrari no matter what. But maybe the improvement made to the car at Imola would have kept him there. Nobody knows. But I doubt they wanted to get rid of Hill since he knew every Williams car since 1991 very well and he was 6 years younger than Patrese.

The watch from 1986. 1400-1500 bhp in Q trim. Almost no aero. Cars spinning their wheels in 6th gear.
Yeah, yeah.
Senna :(
i know matey!!! we all are 😔😔😔 i loved allard and john commentary
So bright memories... First GP that I watched after some race since the very end of 80's.
Não é fácil ver essa Willians azul de 94 :/ ...
Impressionante o tanto que essa Williams quicava 😵
I was imagining Senna with Williams number 2 in that qualify... lolol.. pole position 1s or more faster than the others..
... Fast in quali... But crashed or spun out in the race With that awful Williams car...
Nah, Ferrari had too much of a power advantage at tracks like Monza and Hockenheim.

One of the most beautiful and well made cars of all time
Monza have a curve similar to old imola
The Cerve (Terribly wrong spelling) Grande and Tamburelo
Curva grande yep
Except it has lots of run-off while the old Tamburello didn't because of a river
@StocktonCrushedd Plus a chicane just before it to slow them down.
The steering column looks so stable in these onboards.... hmmm
i think they updated it after imola because of the incident
@@cay7809 they always looked stable - apart from sunday 1994 imola

Exactly. David couthard did a video of how it's designed to move. But then in these videos it's dead still
Such a shame that Herbert crashed, that new Mugen Honda engine was fast. Alas, that was Lotus’s last hurrah 😕
Didn’t Herbert quality 4th in the end?
Yes. And during start the freaking Eddie Irvine take over Lotus hopes..
Yep, an outstanding P4 with the new Mugen Honda engine. Of course Irvine would fk it up 🤦♂️
Autodromo Nazionale di Monza

no , they sabotage senna 's machine so damon can win.
That's bullshit lol. In fact, they wanted to get rid of Hill, their line-up for 1995 was to be Senna and Patrese, because Hill was young.
