    It's amazing how I could have missed this for so long. Very cool. Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. They seem to work well in your video. Recently pulled the CLCs off my track - just don't like the way they perform. It'll be fun tearing a couple apart. I have a righ turn -out to in. If I buy a left turn - in to out that should do it. Thanks!

    That's a really nice layout

    Yeah, but what choice do you have when there aren't any extra people to marshal cars back on (or out of the way) and the track is too large to easily run around and reach cars? If we had a huge club so that a non-racing person can just sit at every corner putting cars back on, I'm sure we'd do things differently. Crash and burn is a bit harsh for digital racing, so we use chips to track crashes, as you see. Once you crash for the 4th time, you're out. But, if you have a suggestion, let me know.

  • @ggaub
    @ggaub  12 лет назад

    Yes, it is. It's great in many ways. Only way it could be better is if it were routed wood with magnabraid.

  • @MustangFastback

    I love the idea of of the chips for crashes. Why didn't I think of that?

    Nice track.I'm not a big fan of the track call,but if there isn't room to get it yourself i can see that's the only way,it just interupps the flow you need to get going when racing.Race on my brothers of the Digital slot!

  • @Dmooreslotreviews
    @Dmooreslotreviews 12 лет назад

    @joeymorgans we have a similar system when we race were its 3 crashes rule and 5 laps (analogue) (we stop on analogue) but when its just digital we have marshalls to put the car on and if you fall off we keep going.

    That was nice!!! Like the idea of using the chips, would make people drive more carefully, altough thats not the cast here! LOL! I think i might give that racing line lane changer a go, just need to find out how to make it, i'll look on slot forum.

    Very nice track, not so sure about all the breaks in the racing though.

    Configuration changes a little from time to time, but it's usually around 64' lap length.

  • @ggaub
    @ggaub  11 лет назад

    We use a delay so that the other racers get a little ahead rather than stop immediately.

    OK - So what's up with those incredibly cool third rail curved tracks? You must have made them yourself - Please tell me you have a video on making them. I've been wanting to rout some "drive line" wood curves for my layout and attach them to my track somehow but yours look like plastic pieces which are just the same as the rest of your Scalextric track - with flippers no less! And they definitely don't look like the standard Scalley digital turnouts. Pictures? Video? Anything??? :-)

    Hey mate I NEED to know what boarder did you use for that R1 corner in the bottem right of the screen. Is it a offcut? Of a bigger boarder?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  3 года назад

      ? That's a standard R1 inner. Comes in a piece that is easily cut apart for whatever degree of turn. I think it's two 360 degrees in a pack?

    Hi Greg - is the hump back bridge a Scalextric part or custom bent? It doesn’t look like either the low or high classic scaley bridges. I have just built a tribute to this track on my 2m x 3m hoistable table.

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  4 года назад +1

      It's a custom piece. He removes the rails and bends them carefully, then clamps the track in a two part "mold" and warms it in his oven until it stays in that shape, then re-installs the rail.
