- Black Powder Battle Report 15mm American Civil War: An Action in the Platville Valley 24th July 1863.
For this week’s battle report we return to America and the American civil war to see the North and South battle it out in a game of Black Powder 15mm ACW.
This week we try an old scenario from a book published in the 1960’s, War Games by Donald F Featherstone, playing the game scenario but using the Black Powder rules, so we hope you enjoy this video Action in Platville battle and the ensuing battle.
Watch and see as Georges Confederate army of the south take to the field to be first to Secure the Green ridge and Platville valley along key positions within Platville village. Meanwhile my Union army will try to locate and destroy the Confederate Army and maximise the advantage!
Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!

I honestly thought my character was in for a total ass-whoopin' at one point, but my goodness, how the tables turned!

@@theministryofminiatures I know you're completely busy with the Bolt Action Barbarossa campaign (which is awesome) but it's be great so see a ACW Campaign in the future too, plenty of campaigns to choose from in the period too! And no problems, my pleasure!
@TheGreyWolf94 indeed, the Barbarossa campaign is once a month, then George and I play once a month… although we might try Hail Caesar next (15mm)…. Quite fancy that too!
We have discussed an ACW or AWI mini campaign also… so much to do!

That would be cool, Maryland Campaign would probably be the easiest to do for ACW , AWI I'm not too knowledgeable on unfortunately.

@@TheGreyWolf94 George has 15mm figures already. The Warlord Games epic is 12.5mm… we are going to try the 15mm first before we look at the epic stuff 👍🏻
That's a beautiful table and great game. Can I ask what style game mat that is. It does not seem to show those print lines many of the mouse pad type have.

Mostly Peter Pig, but I believe George sources them from a couple of suppliers.

Most of the figures are from Freikorps 15. The rest are from Peter Pig, including the Iron Brigade looking types. I used selected poses from Freikorps 15 and regimental and higher command from Peter Pig. Happy to go into more detail if required.

@@G4George Me and a mate will go into ACW in the near future, but we are still unsure about the scale 28 or 15 mm... But your armies shure do look nice on the battlefield

Worth a look, the scale allows for more figures on the battlefield.
