2:25 1. illegal block call but he's clearly front row? Like he's literally the forward most player to the net at service. Maybe she got 7 confused for 4 on concordia who is backrow? If he was backrow then it should be an out of position call by the R2 at service. 2. Could be interference but the ball looks like it was slightly in the plane of the net at contact, tough to tell by the angle. If it was it would be legal for concordia to make a play on it. 8:52 I think she got 16 & 17 confused? 11:55 looks like a block touch on 21 based on how the ball moves at .25 speed. Again, the angle is slightly deceiving but either way at full speed that's a tough call to make. I recently did a POV video as a new referee on my channel and I saw a backrow block that I missed during the game and had a similar close 4 touch call.
The funniest thing is that when the Concordia team received the ball and hit the game's scoreboard, they were called out of bounds, and when the GCU team received the ball and hit the gym ceiling, they were not called.
Continuation and the ball was not contacted out and simply continued the play and if it hits the scoreboard the same rule should apply as when it hits the ceiling of the gym
Not exactly, It was a horrible missed call. Its not hard to understand that the ball wouldn't have went behind the player and spun in the direction it did if it actually was up.
If it hits the ceiling and goes over it is a dead ball. The scoreboard is counted the same as the ceiling. However if it hits the ceiling and stays on the same side it is a live ball
