In his secret life, Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller) dreams big...really, really big. There's no challenge beyond his grasp, be it climbing a massive glacier or rescuing a senior citizen from an exploding building. When he's not daydreaming, the not-so-secret life of Walter Mitty is the opposite of his heroic alter-ego's; he's just an everyday guy facing imminent career downsizing, who's too timid to ask out his pretty co-worker (Kristen Wiig). But when Walter faces his ultimate real-world test, he springs into action on a global adventure exceeding anything even he could have dreamed of.

My sister wanted to watch Frozen, I ditched her and her friends to go watch this movie, I made the right choice.

My hero
The concept - of an underachieving dreamer finally discovering the world - is something most of us can relate to. Accompanied by a truly beautiful soundtrack, Oscar-worthy camera work, and the surprisingly able acting of Ben Stiller, as well as an accompanying cast which includes Adam Scott, Kirsten Wiig and Sean Penn, among others, this is heart-warming and truly special.
This is actually one of my favorite movies. It really gives a good message to try things that scare you and live in the moment.
IMHO, one of the most underrated movies of all time. This film, when watched with the heart, really hits home.

I've watched the trailer a couple of times and have seen the movie, and it's been a long time since then, but I still cry at how awesome this trailer is.

I was in final year in college when I saw this movie in theatre. We all know it's so much underrated. Everything in this movie was beyond our imagination. I was always zoning out for one year because of this movie. Fast forward to a year, I was trekking in the Himalayas for a week. I realised the potential in me for travel. Fast forward to another 3 years, I have great stories to tell about my hikes, treks and outdoor adventures.
This is like a mini version of the film, it gives an insight to the type of characters, the cinematography style, type of music etc... It's great, the film is better.
My mom took me to see this movie because it reminded her of me, a guy who has dreams of amazing things but can't do any of those things because he's just sitting there dreaming about it. Thank God I'm only in the seventh grade so I still can make a change.

So i'm a real daydreamer especially in class. So one day my english teacher told me that i'm like walter mitty. And i was just like "who???" And then he told me about that movie and all i can say is thanks mr. Green i absolutely loved it!!

+Harry Gallagher I don't think it is a perfect movie, the commercial stuff in any movie isn't that great, but hey, that's why americans watch superbowl, so it doesn't make actually lot of sense complaining about that much. Dear critics sometimes you'l underestimate a movie just like that, but The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was simply a magnificent piece of work. Let it be the script, visualization & beyond everything the imagination along with the music was simply awesome.
This movie makes me feel so inspired... it makes me want to travel all across the world. We all act like we're gonna live forever... not taking any chances; working countless years for things that will all eventually come crumbling down. We spend our lives climbing as high as we can, just to be replaced by someone else when we are gone. Don't get caught up in that idea... everything has a beginning and everything has an end. You only have one life though... one chance to experience what is right here, right now; and that something is truly beautiful if you open your eyes.
Ok i cameback here to say that i really loved this movie... It was cleverly made. One of the best movie for me.
6 years later this is still my favorite movie of all time, still gives me chills every single time I watch it
My husband and I were newlyweds when we saw this movie in theaters. We loved it so much, we went to see it again. Less than 2 years later, we had bought an old camper van to rennovate. It took 2 years and 9 months to gut it and remodel it, and this soundtrack inspired us during that time. We moved in and started traveling full time in October of 2018. Now we're renovating a school bus because we want to start a family and have adventures together with our future kids.

Walter and Cheryl's love story was sweet but the deepest connection in the movie was the one between Walter and Sean.

i like the music in this film.There is something that the film bring's.And i think on of the feel's is a warm feeling.
Didn't really want to see it because I'm not a Ben Stiller fan but I got the movie times wrong and it was the only thing showing at the time… I LOVED IT!!! Beautiful cinematography, incredible sound track and a wonderfully touching story.This movie is a MUST SEE :)

This may be Ben Stiller's best movie ever. Walter Mitty took me on an adventure that will last longer than THE APPROXIMATED LENGTH OF THE MOVIE. He once again works in his visual versatility that he's come so famous for employing. From straight laced, pencil PUSHING WORKER BEE TO cliffhanging, shark fighting daredevil. Plainly speaking, he just DAZZLES and he brings you in and you want the movie to last longer...!?("She's")

The best most inspirational movie since The Pursuit of Happyness. I think it deserved much more praise from the critics, they really missed out on this one. I'll be first in line for the DVD

The cinematography and use of limited use of CGI (it was clearly there but it was still beautiful) was gorges, not to mention that it was vary inspiring considering I live in my head a lot as well. I think that it is vary underrated and a real diamond in the rough

This movie was fantastic! The scenery is absolutely beautiful! Ben Stiller did a great job.
I loved it, he is a very skilled director, his acting surprisingly good in this emotionally moving film. I loved the music, so kitschy and fitting. The rest of cast is very good too. I specially hated the guy who takes over and fires all of them after delivering the final issue. The issue of the missing photo is resolved in a very emotionally uplifting way at the very end. Sadly, the story of the magazine going on line and laying off all these people could be real one day.

Finally saw this film over the last weekend and I have to add it to my top 10 all-timers. It is brilliant. Great acting, great soundtrack and brilliantly shot.
This movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a LONGG time. This is a MUST see movie. Amazing views, music, and actors. If you are thinking about seeing this movie, GO SEE IT NOW. On 1 - 10, this is a 10.

I'm an Australian veteran, I went and watched this movie tonight, a late session, maybe 4 people in the session, this movie and the character reached me, then when Sean penn came on in his role, the entire logic of the movie hit me

I don’t own many movies but this is one of them. I never grow tired of it.
I think we all need that positive energy the movie convey, forget about those negative critics, just bear the LIFE’s motto in mind.
To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.

Absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed this film. I'm actually speechless since I didn't know what to expect at all. I've seen other Ben Stiller films and they were good but nothing out of the ordinary, I suppose. This was a really great film. I was hooked all the way through and the scenes are gorgeous.

This was an excellent movie. I do not care what the critics say. I feel that a lot of us day dream the same way that is portrayed. It is based on real life situations that many people have found themselves in when companies downsize. The ending is incredible. This is a much see movie. We just saw it yesterday and the audience cheered and clapped at the end of the movie. Ben Stiller where ever you are, you hit this out of the ball park.
