5:41 a 20 Amp charger will take five hours minimum to charge a 100 Ah battery to full, and since the charger only puts out around 15 Amps for much of the time, it will take longer: 100Ah divided by 15 Amps equals closer to seven hours. I have the same charger for my 12 Volt LiFePO4 batteries. I loaned it to my neighbor, who was charging up four 300Ah batteries at one time, and it took three to four days to charge them up to 100%.

That's a 200AH battery ! With your charger from empty expect about 15 - 18 hours . Also the last 10% is a exceedingly slow process as the charger backs off , the BMS starts balancing & could disconnect for timeouts [ On or off is all the BMS can do ] . Some bms modules can do strange & unexpected things when the battery's almost full . Maybe use PV for the last 200 - 300 W ….

Hey girl,Irish spring hand soap mice hate that. Just shred a bar of it up put it in some small empty jar cover place where your cats can't get into it and you won't see any more mice. I put it in my camper before I store my camper for the winter months.and never see any evidence of mice😊
Several years ago I caught my intruder in a snap trap within seconds of setting it. I was making some hot chocolate and found a little chew hole in the package. I baited and set the trap under the kitchen sink where I kept my hot chocolate mix, closed the cabinet door and turned on the hot water and SNAP!!! I bet it hadn't been a full 3 seconds. It was the only one I caught after leaving several traps set for about a month. I'm with you though. Had I a way of trapping him and relocating I would have. Thanks for sharing with us. Hey Jenna, enjoy your videos. Next time try baking your potatoes in the wood stove if you have a fire going anyway. Just wrap them a few times in foil and keep to the side of the stove away from the big flames. Tasty, and saves your power. Keep warm up there!
I am surprised you have mice with the cats being there. When we winterize our camper we place cotton balls with peppermint oil on them in Dixie cups and place them near where pipes come in,, thus far works great and smells like a peppermint pattie.
Hello Jenna, That seemed like an awful long time to recharge one battery off the generator. 🤔 Congratulations on completing the wood pile for the 24/25 winter season. That was a job, I hope your back is feeling okay. I hope your kidney stones are gone also. 😊 Look at Rory being so cute and adorable on this one. His purring was adorable. You truly are a good mommy to both Rory and Ramsey. 😺 Yep, the mice start coming in when it gets cold out. I do the same thing. Load up the traps with peanut butter, they can't resist it. I toss them out on my back porch and the next day they are always gone. We have neighborhood cats that come and get them. We used to have a lot of Tim Hortons in my area, even one in my town.( Maineville, Ohio) Most of them have closed. We still have a few around but not many. I don't know what happened to them. I'm not a coffee drinker so I rarely went to them. That does look like a nice sandwich though. You do the same thing I do. I always ditch the sliced tomatoes too.😊 Your "chipmunk" singing in the car is always funny.😅 You come home and Ramsey's like, "You got the goods?" and you're like, "Yea, man I got the goods!"😂 You're such a good cook Jenna. Your Carolina meatballs, potatoes 🥔 and peas looks so good. Ramsey was wanting those meatballs and sour cream. 😮 Ramsey at the end like, "Dishes? I don't do dishes!" The old, I don't have opposable thumbs excuse. Works every time! Well, you have the wood stacked. One more big chore to do before winter sets in, winterizing the trailer. I hope all goes well but I know it must be rough without water for 3 or 4 months, but it is what it is. It's that time of year, I guess. Just take it one day at a time.😊 Take care and I hope your cold sore is gone also. Our Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday. I still can wrap my head around the concept of Thanksgiving before Halloween. I guess we're silly here in the states, I mean, look at how we vote! 😅 -----------Take care, Steve.
It takes a loooong time to fully charge them up. I have that same charger and it works great. It won't wreck your battery. I have 230 AH and it takes a couple of days if that low. But it is a FULL charge :)
Hey how’s it going. 200 amp hour battery divided by 15 amps is around 13 hours right? Take a look at the charge profile of your charger, some slow down for the last 20%. Battery spec sheet should list maximum charge rate. I would charge to 75% and let the sun do the rest. Ad another charger or three to get it done faster. Other good comments here. Best wishes.
Hi There Try not to let the battery drop below 20. This degrades the battery and makes it harder to recharge. If you can set this up in the app or the remote it would be great. 👍
Find your batteries MAX charge rate and use a charger that can hits that mark....and hit it at 70 percent from the MAX Your charge time will be dropped to an hour just a guees save on gallons of gas Just so you all know, I don't just watch this lifestyle I live it 24/7... charge hard for a short time. Because it all gets old if you charge hard for a long time. C
Great video. Find looking load of wood. Lovely meal you cooked up for yourself. Plenty left over for your lunch the next day. Your winter or fall hat looks really good on you. Take care.
Nice that you’re all set for winter now, all the wood is stacked, must be a nice feeling. I was out chopping some today and chainsawing my deadwood, nowhere near the same amount you have, but I only need a months worth as I won’t be wintering in Canada.
@ Cannes in the south of France, my mother was from the region, so when I retired, I bought a small apartment there. I told my house in Toronto Ontario and moved to my cottage in Northern Ontario where I spend spring summer fall and this year until mid January then I’ll spend the rest of my time until mid May in France. It’s not super hot like in the summertime, but it is sunny and temperatures don’t dip below. I’d say 15°C.
A savonius verticle axis wind turbine would help you to be more off grid and to mostly rely only on wind and solar for your electrical power needs. Here is but one example. One word of wisdom, use it to "direct drive" the generators/alternators as you get better harvest of wind driven electricity. Also, if you have a hygrometer, you can pop the lid off the battery ports and check the acidity of the battery acid. The level might be down and that would cause slow and incomplete charging. Also, something to consider. If you are using low voltage LED lighting, you can buy on amazon peltier devices (aka heat batteries) and use a high temp glue to attach them to your stove wall and produce electricity every time you use your wood stove. Tie it directly into your lighting system.
I bought my first tankless water heater and have it on a small tank and am loving it. 😊 I so want to get a bigger LPG generator. One step at a time I guess. 😅
I purchased a small Honda 2200 ei 16:22 just for charging my batteries. That particular generator uses very little fuel for charging. Canadian tire has some pretty decent smart chargers with 25 amp. I've seen it take up to 12 hours to completely charge my batteries
Nothing is wrong with the charger, when lithium batteries reach about 13.2v it stays there for a really long time, a few hours, so it looks like it is not charging but it is because lithium has a very flat curve and you can't measure SOC by voltage but it is charging and once it gets pass that threshold it will move a lot faster.
Depending on battery most will charge at 100 amps if it is large capacity battery and this would be more efficient for generator with hardly a load. Also if your truck had a larger amp alternator and you have 2 batteries that you can switch out you could hook to a DC to DC charger and while driving charge a battery. Wind generator would help also on the sun less days.
Now I know why I didn't here the dinner bell, I was on the tractor. Man, that looks so good except for one thing . I'll pass on the peas. Lol. Good news, I got your notification. Stay warm and see you on the next .
I've got that exact same charger. The good: slow charging helps preserve the battery. The bad: obviously takes forever. You did it right, get close and let the sun finish the job. Rory was purring because he was psyched that you got the battery squared away and Ramsey...oh, well.
My AVR Just quit on my Generator 10 minutes before your video came on the screen 😅 I'll just light a couple of woodstove's now and change it out tomorrow. Take care out there 💯👍
I use that Mr Heater Buddy all the time to space heat my office during team meetings. I get two meetings out of one can on low, which is about 4.5-5 hrs depending if I ever turn it off for a tiny bit bc it gets the room so hot.

Congrats on getting the wood done. Never tried charging my trailer batteries with a generator, I'm no help there. I did ditch the old trailer lights with LED lights and that helped.
I swapped all mine out too 👍
That's good that you have all your wood in before it starts to snow I am getting all my stuff done before the snow makes its face but I will be loving the snow and drink a cup of coffee and watch it snow whenever it gets here take care of your self and have a happy Thanksgiving thank for the video God bless you amen
I've unplugged my solar controller, and let it push full volts just to boost my batteries. I have 6.
Review ohm's law if you are getting confused about amps, volts, resistance and how they all relate to one another. It's simple to use! Stay warm up there!
My RV is in a spot without much sun. I decided to ground mount my solar panels in a place 60 feet from the RV that gets full sun, and I use a more shade resistant panel to help give me some power on cloudy days.
Hey Jenna!! I’m so excited! I finally went out and got a portable power station w solar panels. I have no plans of living nomad life because I’ve lived powerless on the streets before and I perfer the way life is now but I’m still excited to have my own option for power!!
Awesome! Congrats!
Another great video! That meal looked yummy! Hope you and those handsome roommates stay safe and warm. 😺😺🧑🍳🌡️🇨🇦
I'm glad you've got all these back up means of heat and power. One of the first things I learned from your channel is to have plenty of survival heat sources, can't be too careful at 6500 feet in the winter. I enjoy seeing your lifestyle, you've got a nice thing going for yourself- hard work pays off. I'm sure the cattoes appreciate it too
Thanks Gary, yes multiple heat sources are VERY necessary for sure!
If you get more solar panels might keep up on the cloudy days. My 800 watts are putting out 300 right now through 1/4 inch of ice even.
Jenna here is a tip for you take your car and get a long set of booster cables and bring your car up to the window of your trailer and hook it up to your battery Will charge a whole lot faster hope this helps!
It's a Lithium Ion Lifepo4 battery - they charge at different rates and voltages to LeadAcid. 100Ah battery will need at least 6-7 hours to charge from a 20amp/hour charger.
Making all of us laugh in another one, thanks for the entertainment Jen. The cat is not washing those dishes 😂😂
Hi Jenna, Rory 🐈⬛ and Ramsey 🐈 Never fun when there's no sun☹️ Always great to hear from you, stay safe and take care my friends 😊God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you always!
Hey Jenna, you rock! It takes me around 10 hours to charge my 400ah lifepo4 battery bank using my 40a lifepo4 charger. That would assume that the batteries are dead and I'm not using any electricity from them during the charge period. This weather has been the pits🐶🐶👋
Oh it's been rough eh? Hopefully we get sunshine soon!
Get a larger propane tank and hook it up to the lil buddy. Nice wood pile there Gypsy.
Been living off grid for 5 years. So I understand completely
I'll bet Mr Squirrel is thrilled that you got his winter house rebuilt!
No doubt in my mind lol
There's a push going around for, heated apparel for the homeless. And it's beautiful. 😢 I hope people keep pushing it...
as you heard im sure... if you search for a refill adapter you can refill the small propanr tanks,...its just not worth it to buy them... ive filled 1000..all winter long before i bought a hose for a big cylinder
Hey beautiful nice to see you again just let you know you should only charge your batteries up to 80%, not unless you're using solar so just to let you know you've done a fine job keep up the good work love the cats
A 20amp charger is only putting out about 300w at most. You can probably run 4 of those chargers off your generator to charge up faster.
my simple equation is your total AH battery divided by 5 (hours), thats what i get my charger amps, example if your batteries have 200AH, i probably get a 30amps or 40amps charger
@@billykulim5202the price jump is significant going from 20 amp DC to 40 amp DC charger. The biggest barrier is normally the battery charge rating, lithium is normally 50%-100% of rated amp hours where lead acids are normally 10%-20% of the rated amp hours. I run two 20 amp chargers on my 300ah Lifepo4 bank, but it still takes closer to 10 hours to fully charge due to power conversion losses.
Thanks for the video Jenna, entertaining and fun as always. Love the music you had it was relaxing and pleasant, also nice to see your fur babies. Happy holidays
Ramsey is special.....he has to have a table next to the window.☺️
Thanks for the fun video. I'm camping in my RV at a local lake all this next week. Went fishing today in the kayak, caught two little black bass. It was 80 degrees today, tomorrow only in the 60's. First freeze is expected at the end of this week (North Texas).
Stay warm!
Your purrr machine is working purrfectly.
Here in Ontario its been -2 and I still haven't been out to close up my camper i think I'm asking for trouble also wanna say good for you to be doing all of this on your own keep up the awesome work
Jenna, we have our batteries set up so if they drop below a certain voltage our generator automatically kicks on. Doesn't happen often because even on a crappy day of no or little sunlight our 6000 watts of solar still puts out enough to keep the batteries almost charged. We thought we were going to have a mice problem but between our two Siamese cats, the Osprey Hawks, and the two resident Bald Eagles that live on the lake we haven't seen one mouse....
I absolutely love the way you say couch, that is so cute!
Amen!
I am always amazed and impressed with your resourcefulness! Rory and Ramsey are so cute. I loved hearing Rory purr away. You have become a favorite to watch!! Stay safe and warm.
Thank you 😊
If no one has told you, you have all the cool toys!! I really enjoy your channel, thanks for making me smile on your drive back!! Be safe friend!!
I swear, if Bob and Doug Mckenzie had a sister, it would be this woman, eh. Lol
Beauty!
Take off eh!
@@jrosalia Hoser, eh. Lol
That dinner you made looked so freakin good!
You are a trooper, kid! Good on you! Please do not stay away from others on purpose. Surround yourself with God fearing, loving people. Hope you stay warm and safe!
A nice meal is good for moral. But the dishes - oh well. 😅
Jenna you're my inspiration for living free, my own electricity, my own food, everything I need, thank you.
Awee, thank YOU! I love hearing that!!
Your singing gave me a chuckle. Great video.
It’s a good feeling to get the wood in for the season. Your meal looks great. ❤
Keeping batteries up is a hard job. You do it well.
Also about once every 3 months you should check the water level in your battery, if it's low refill with distilled water only to about a half inch from the top. Sorry I get carried away sometimes.
ROFL!!!!!!! You fast forwarding your singing was killing me!! That cracked me up!!! OH! yep then of course cooking, and now I am hungry! lol Loved the video can't wait til the next one!!
I tell you what Jenna, every time I watch your videos I think man, you are a very beautiful woman ❤😊. I wish you the best!
Almost 35,000 subs.
Good gosh, Jenna.
Good, gosh.
Maybe get some pool noodles and put on the top of the couch to keep stuff from falling down under. Where do you get your firewood? Thanks for listing the ingredients for the meal prep. and it looks tasty. Bet you won't say where you work or would you? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Moses, the firewood comes from the family property I am on. Not a bad idea with the pool noodles!
That's a 200AH battery !
With your charger from empty expect about 15 - 18 hours .
Also the last 10% is a exceedingly slow process as the charger backs off , the BMS starts balancing & could disconnect for timeouts
[ On or off is all the BMS can do ] .
Some bms modules can do strange & unexpected things when the battery's almost full .
Maybe use PV for the last 200 - 300 W ….
Here's what you should get from the 1# canister...

Interesting, did you split all that wood yourself? If so I'm impressed!
Ive been watching some of these vids lately. I like this chic. Shes funny and she seems to have it together. What surprised me is her drink selection. After playing in a road band in the western part of Canada yrs ago I was expecting Molson, Labatts, etc. Lol! Keep up the good work Jenna!
You’re awesome !!
Thank you for showing the cooking
As single man in his 30s it’s so helpful for me to learn more .
GOD bless you and your wee kitties
You’re a great mama !!
Angels be with you all
Ha Jenna, jeepsy Gene here. Dont feel alone on your solar. I just bought a Bluetti Ac200L and have not been able to charge it off the sun yet. I need a gas generator and it must be a quite one. Im not sure witch one to buy but Im kind of leaning towards a Champion 4000. Your battery charger is about right in time. My car charger takes anywhere from 8 to ten hours.
You are a very enterprising young woman. My compliments.
Hey Jenna. Hope u have a good week 🥰
I suggest a couple more of those 450w panels for your roof. Stay warm :)
You should have a garden, vegetables, flowers in summer as if you don’t already have a lot to do
Hey girl,Irish spring hand soap mice hate that.
Stay safe and warm!
EDIT: Commenting as I watch. Great recipe! I'm going to give it a try. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy! 🍽
Hey Jenna, enjoy your videos. Next time try baking your potatoes in the wood stove if you have a fire going anyway. Just wrap them a few times in foil and keep to the side of the stove away from the big flames. Tasty, and saves your power. Keep warm up there!
Scented dryer sheets mice also hate the smell off.i also use them in my camper.😊
Looks like you are a pretty good cook, looks yummy. I am an RV dweller and I built a little mud room. Its wonderful.
Good job doing what you do. Proud of you.
Thank you 😊
I am surprised you have mice with the cats being there. When we winterize our camper we place cotton balls with peppermint oil on them in Dixie cups and place them near where pipes come in,, thus far works great and smells like a peppermint pattie.
Good idea! They are behind the cupboards where the cats can't get them
According to an online calculator if your 200ah battery was at 10% soc charging at 20 amps will take approximately 9 hours to charge
Hello Jenna,
That seemed like an awful long time to recharge one battery off the generator. 🤔
Congratulations on completing the wood pile for the 24/25 winter season. That was a job, I hope your back is feeling okay. I hope your kidney stones are gone also. 😊
Look at Rory being so cute and adorable on this one. His purring was adorable. You truly are a good mommy to both Rory and Ramsey. 😺
Yep, the mice start coming in when it gets cold out.
I always ditch the sliced tomatoes too.😊
Your "chipmunk" singing in the car is always funny.😅 You come home and Ramsey's like, "You got the goods?" and you're like, "Yea, man I got the goods!"😂
You're such a good cook Jenna.
-----------Take care, Steve.
Thanks Steve! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I am happy to report, no kidney stone attacks for a couple of weeks! Fingers crossed! 🤞🤞
Great to see the wood all stacked up. Sometimes I think Ramsey can read your mind. I would have thought the cats would make great mouse catchers 😊🐈🐈⬛
They would but the mice are behind the cupboards where the cats can't get them lol
OMG, 😊Dinner sounds great!!!
Hi There
Try not to let the battery drop below 20.
This degrades the battery and makes it harder to recharge. If you can set this up in the app or the remote it would be great. 👍
You go girl! Love the recipe, will try it! Keep those kitties warm 🙂
Thank you much 🙏
I hope your enjoy the recipe!
Find your batteries MAX charge rate and use a charger that can hits that mark....and hit it at 70 percent from the MAX
Your charge time will be dropped to an hour just a guees save on gallons of gas
Just so you all know, I don't just watch this lifestyle
I live it 24/7... charge hard for a short time.
Ohh lucky!! Hope you're going someplace warm!
Looks like enough wood, but depends on the weather, good old NS, lol, you’re Timmie’s looked familiar 🤭, love you’re videos, be safe
I bought my first tankless water heater and have it on a small tank and am loving it. 😊 I so want to get a bigger LPG generator. One step at a time I guess. 😅
Like, comment and something are very important for Jenna to get paid for bringing us content.
That sound affect with your voice is hilarious .
Thank you for the info
Gypsy Jenna you'll be fine Recharge Reset and Start
Depending on battery most will charge at 100 amps if it is large capacity battery and this would be more efficient for generator with hardly a load. Also if your truck had a larger amp alternator and you have 2 batteries that you can switch out you could hook to a DC to DC charger and while driving charge a battery. Wind generator would help also on the sun less days.
Now I know why I didn't here the dinner bell, I was on the tractor. Man, that looks so good except for one thing . I'll pass on the peas. Lol. Good news, I got your notification. Stay warm and see you on the next .
Thanks Tony!
Your kitties are so precious!
I've got that exact same charger. The good: slow charging helps preserve the battery. The bad: obviously takes forever. You did it right, get close and let the sun finish the job.
Rory was purring because he was psyched that you got the battery squared away and Ramsey...oh, well.
Thank you 😊
My AVR Just quit on my Generator 10 minutes before your video came on the screen 😅 I'll just light a couple of woodstove's now and change it out tomorrow. Take care out there 💯👍
Black Cats are Gorgeous, Ive got a Pair of Sisters.
I like the way you handled that stiff hose Jenna
I use that Mr Heater Buddy all the time to space heat my office during team meetings. I get two meetings out of one can on low, which is about 4.5-5 hrs depending if I ever turn it off for a tiny bit bc it gets the room so hot.
