It sure does! This intro is thoughtfully cruising down a quiet city street on a hot Summer night with the windows down. Or any number of other worlds you happen to dream of. Vibration art at its finest.
Undoubtedly, Plini is in a Djent class all by himself, combining djent, piano, & jazz. Up there with the like of Jeff Beck & George Benson. All the tracks are Great, with this one & Cascade as mindblowers!!!
I always listen to cascade at the end of my bike ride which is perfectly timed to be the length of this album, just so I can wing it on my favourite hill like a madman xD
This song is really really wonderful. The transitions between the different sections from 3:21 to 4:21 (bouncy to epic to jazzy to epic again) are so well executed
I just got new headphones yesterday and noticed for the FIRST TIME IN A YEAR AND A HALF the ambient inhale sounds near the end of each phrase during the first verse of the song... bkbdjkewbudiho Plini is so good
How did this song never get in my recommendations??? Like, I've heard electric sunrise and quite a lot of other songs of Plini a billion times, am subscribed and have got notifications on for his channel. So HOW and WHY? Hahah. It's seriously beautiful too! 😊
Always listen to the full album with Plini. I've just discovered him a couple months ago and I am IN LOVE. With this song, the atmospheric suggestive build up, the rock solid groovy drums, the banger transitions and the SOLO AT THE END. My god he's a genius
All of this album is amazing! Bought it, Listened through all of it 10-100 times. And the concert was amazing! Plini is the man! Can't count out Intervals either. They were also amazing.
I love how the distorted riffs sound like Haunted Shores' earlier material. I always felt that Following Ivy was an extremely underrated EP and this song encapsulates a lot of those good qualities. Good job with the album Plini :D
Holdsworth chords voicing, but I feel a lot's of Dream THeather influences here.. some passages and riffing remeber me "Learning to Live" and John Petrucci picking style.. anyway this guy it's simply amazing!
This is just too fucking amazing! I feel like my ears can't comprehend this awesomeness, so I have to listen to it again and again just to grasp it! I was so incredibly lucky to stumble upon this band! Can anyone please recommend similar albums and artists? (Of course I'm already listening to everything Plini made :P )
i was listening like "why the hell i hear that helix nebula vibe in bass" untill i looked into description to see fucking simon groove. ma boi is still here makin us happy
Best track, best solo, best note @ 4:20. Seriously, I replay just the solo part of the song to hear the singular note that plays @ 4:20 again and again. It does something to the soul. CLEAN
I heard cloudy city - chimp spanner vibes in the beginning. The beginning of the song is everything the way the drums just whips in with the splash... damn
I saw Plini back in like 2018 I think, David Maxim Micic opened, Nick Johnston played and then Plini closed it out. Troy Wright played drums for all three sets, is was at least 3 1/2 hours. He became one of my favorite drummers after that night 🤘
What's up with the fool that disliked every song 42 times though! Anyway amazing music Plini, my neighbour even came over recently to ask what music it was I was playing when I was chilling on my balcony (and it wasn't because it was too loud). Spreading the love :)
Plini, this is my new favorite track of yours! I keep thinking you and Sithu can't possibly get any more awesome, but you both always take your craft up another level.
It's like every phrasing has something that makes it stand out, something that makes it worth to be listened to. I was studying but I'm getting too distracted by this particular song.
Such an underrated musician. Plini is getting less than what he deserves. Only 76k subscribers and look at today's shitty music with over 10M+ subscribers and with Billion views.
New favorite album. I listened to sweet nothings & liked it a lot, but a lot of it wasn't resonate with my exact taste/preference most of the time... beyond like 2 tracks, so i wouldn't listen too often. This album is completely on par though. My god. This is beautiful. Good work, man. You have TALENT. - another solo musician / song writer of 14 years
*Exhales*
Man, the intro is just beautiful, it literally takes you to another world
Literally??! ARE YOU SURE?!?!
It aurally takes me to another world. Only the lyrics could take you literally to another world. But John Myung wrote these lyrics so...
It sure does! This intro is thoughtfully cruising down a quiet city street on a hot Summer night with the windows down. Or any number of other worlds you happen to dream of. Vibration art at its finest.
The whole song, especially the solo at the end. Omg... Felt my soul raise it's fist to the sky 🤟
instrumentally
Might just be the best song he's ever put out.
My favourite definetly!
Listen to this song, inhale, relax, then get up and do what you've been wanting to do!
Troy Wright on drums, 10/10

4:08 to 4:21 - The answer to why Plini is a genius!
I remember when this album first released; this song was a feeling of pure ecstasy for me. Plini is fucking incredible
This is EASILY my favorite from the new album! So incredible! Oh my God
I concur!
Agreed with every inch of my being
every time i listen to this song i get chills. plini is a fucking genius and one of the greatest guitarist out there rn in the prog/djent scene
3:53 this part hits my heart
This has to be one of my favorite tracks of all time, it really has everything you want in a track. Simply amazing!
"Making of" please i think We all need to witness the creation of these master piece dude
Plini holdsworth
you guys work really well together btw! Would love to see some collab in the future with plini's new lineup. :)
Sweet idea Nick :)
Plinsworth.
allan has died today, no more chance to collab T_T
4:06 that part is AMAZING! the end is soooo good!!
THIS ALBUM IS PIECE OF ART
Production is mega on these tracks
I just got new headphones yesterday and noticed for the FIRST TIME IN A YEAR AND A HALF the ambient inhale sounds near the end of each phrase during the first verse of the song...
bkbdjkewbudiho Plini is so good
LOVE the Tarred & Feathered references from 3:22 to the end
One of my favorites of all time.
Song Structure For: Plini - Inhale:
(This is an experimental song, because of that, it doesn't have chorus or verse parts.)
0:00 - 1:24 Ghost notes 1 by guitar volume swell + drums + choir + bass + piano lines (Part 1) (İntro)
1:24 - 1:26 Drum fill for transition.
1:26 - 2:20 Guitar riff salad 1 + accompanied by: drums + orchestral arrangement 1 (Actual song starts here !) (Part 2)
2:20 - 2:24 Transition melody 1
2:24 - 2:53 Ambient chords
2:53 - 3:18 Free Guitar jam 1 accompanied by drums + different chords compared to past section.
3:18 - 3:22 Transition melody 1
3:22 - 3:45 Guitar riff salad 2
3:45 - 3:54 Arrangement section
3:54 - 4:22 Free Guitar jam 2 + matched orchestral backing track
4:22 - 4:58 Guitar riff salad 1 + new orchestral arrangement 2 (Outro)
@Daniel malamud Every progressive song is a bit of experimental. Because if you want to "progress" on anything, you need to "experiment" new things.
@Sohrab The Socialist Thank you :) It's my hobby. As an amateur composer, i like to learn things about song structures :)

You just went full David Maxim Micic in that middle section, and it is gorgeous :D
That ending solo... Easily the most beatiful thing i've ever heard. This song sounds on my phone almost every day, absolutely love it

That's a good ear you got there ^^
That's a good ear you got there ^^
Probably. He really loves to reference familiar riffs and licks in different songs...
Just like Cascade where he puts the Handmade Cities riff
How tf did I not hear that 😭 good catch
I still jam this song regularly. Fucking masterpiece

Way beyond perfection bruh
What a masterpiece
Plini, every time i listen to any of your songs, I feel like i'm falling in love
Just under three minutes in and I feel like I just experienced a lifetime

5 years later where are you on your journey into prog
You gotta listen to Riverside and also Liquid Tension Experiment. Two EXCELLENT bands!!!
The greatest composer of our time.
This is what i'v been expecting for a while, such a gem..
Fan-fucking-tastic
When you are literally speechless for words and you say the same thing for every song
fun-tastic
I first listened this song back then 6 years ago and I still listen to these days this masterpeice.

Yes, just very beautiful. Much like the ending of "Cascade", they both have the same feeling of catharsis and adventure.
This song is so sick.
