  • Extracts from the classic Ealing film from 1955.
The film is famous for the shots of steam trains so we cut the film down so we were left with just the railway bits

Thank you for this! My late mum LOVED this film and because of that I grew to love it as well I have this in my 'Hall of Fame' films in my collection, It is very dear to my heart. I investgated where it was filmed and sadly due to the crazy habit of ' change for change sake' there is nothing left of the old Copenhagen Tunnel or the branch line that can be seen many times in the film that CROSSES where the house ( a film set structure) was built. So sad.

If your a train buff and you like this film then your sick .
I know just about every line.
So wots wrong wiv muscle?, i got a vote too, its democracy..
Ok Mrs lopsided just got voted in.
The house mock up was at the end of Fredrica Street which led to the Caledonian Road, ironic that this band of villains were only 200 yards from Pentonville Prison.

But the gang didn't end up in the nearby prison.

@@jonathansanger862 it was a comedy not a documentary.
However what I thought was ironic is that during the filming the .cast would have had to of turned into Frederica street right opposite Pentonville.
Actually the scene from the front door when Mrs Lopsided opened the front door is Argyle Street in St Pancras, you can clearly see At Pancras station where Argyle Street meets Euston Road
      It was a great film

Yes I understand. I visited the St Pancras location. I visited the tunnel mouth location from Vale Royal direction. Interesting enough, a former resident whom lived at Frederica Street said that the houses were demolished in stages between 1965 and 1969 due to their deteriorating condition. They probably date from the 1860s.
