That was brilliant lived in inner London as a kid so was surrounded 😅by them, but you woodnt find it easy filming so close to railways and so many Thank you xx ❤
Nice video. The sites and sounds of slam door London. I find that scene with the 4CIG at Mortlake in Sweeney 2 particularly memorable, with the hissing rails of the approaching train adding to the tension. Notice how in the scene immediately prior, when Regan and Carter are climbing the stairs of the footbridge, the sound of a diesel locomotive and coaches is dubbed on as the CIG passes!
Its the lawyers not the cops. squeezing every penny out for every little incident. Would you turn down the poss of a few thou for a minor injury? Thought not.
Pure bliss!!!, when London had its own cockney heritage and tourists could revel in the pleasure of seeing/hearing how the natives in their choice of holiday destination live. Nowadays I'd be the only cockney on the train, whilst getting g.b.h of the earholes from indian, Muslim, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian and just about every language other than English. And American tourists wondering where the bloody hell all the English people ave gone?
Brilliant upload, really interesting stuff. Love 1970 & 80s television. Something dirty about 1970s London? Same with New York? Now everything has been gentrified and lost its character.
Great to see old Euston as it was in the 70s. Only thing missing : should be a sprinkling of Scottish dossers swigging Special Brew and asking for 10 p. ? Apart from that......
Fantastic collection. Many thanks. It just goes to show how differently TV was shot in the 70s; the sound, photography and the use of public locations. 6:01 Look at the arrested fella hiding his face ! Was that part of the story?
The second scene is near Vauxhall Station. The one referring to being near Hammersmith is actually closer to Shepherds Bush between Wood Lane and Latimer Road stations.....
After the peak north of kings x( well st Pancras and midland mainline) were back on the juice. I don’t remember four car epbs sounding like an intercity train though.
Like ACTUALLY running their asses off. No messing about then lol 2:32 that man needs lessons in "How Not To Be Seen" Anyone else spot 6:35 looks like Joe Public nearly ruined a scene - but they left it in!!!!
Best British Police show ever. Thaw and Waterman are the Lennon and McCartney of TV cops!
You summed it up there !
So does that make Haskins Brian Epstein ?
I agree with your comparison with Lennon and McCartney
@@anthonyireland6108 Cheers mate.
Best crime drama ever, can almost smell and taste grimey and gritty seventies London, thanks for the memories.
The bridge crossing where Regan says ID HATE TO BE THE ONE WHO WRITES THIS ONE UP is North Worple way , East Sheen SW london.❤

I don't know why Dennis Waterman, wasn't an Olympic sprinter, that man could run. Total Legend.
He could throw a great punch too. Totally convincing. And a much underrated actor imo.
He could pull a sort too when he popped into the Winchester.
Despite loving a gasper and a pint or several!
Cops nowadays wouldn`t even climb up that ladder without a 3 day 10 man risk assessment, they`ve gone soft.
Its the lawyers not the cops. squeezing every penny out for every little incident. Would you turn down the poss of a few thou for a minor injury? Thought not.
3:49; Roy Kinnear trying to outrun, well, anyone?? Love it! Incidentally, totally agree about Sweeney 2012.
ruclips.net/video/CNaXtqN1y0o/видео.htmlsi=MfRw-c_UgBi7Ihjn the sweeney new series with john thaw and reece dinsdale
A different age; not perfect, but a sh@tload better than today.

Essex and Kent
My boyfriend and I just watched this and had fun playing 'guess the next station'! Excellent video!
Sweet, great scenes from the old smoke...
The Coal wagon scene is not Caledonian Road but Chelsea Basin Goods near to where Imperial Wharf station is on the West London Line
Definitely the best tv show ever 2nd would have to be minder. All the time we had to pay BBC for the privilege of watching . Stop paying your licence.
Brilliant upload, really interesting stuff. Love 1970 & 80s television. Something dirty about 1970s London? Same with New York? Now everything has been gentrified and lost its character.
Nice observation. I'm sure both cities still have shoddy areas but they don't use them in TV programmes anymore!

People arrested often do this
The last scene is not north of Kings Cross; more likely southern region with 3rd rail power. Great load of clips, manythanks.
The second scene is near Vauxhall Station. The one referring to being near Hammersmith is actually closer to Shepherds Bush between Wood Lane and Latimer Road stations.....
Dennis waterman is a great runner ❤❤❤
This is amazing!...Hope there is minder version of it!
07:00 Is South Worple Way, Mortlake.
North Worple way the other side. SW london 😊
After the peak north of kings x( well st Pancras and midland mainline) were back on the juice. I don’t remember four car epbs sounding like an intercity train though.
The last scene looked like between mortlake and north sheen
Nice collection. I think the lines at 1.01 look more like the approaches to Waterloo though.
It's Vauxhall.
That Shelby drop-top would be worth a nice retirement now........
Nice work!
Was the Metropolitan Line Back then not the Hammersmith and City Line
In those days the Hammersmith & City Line was still part of the Metropolitan Line
There was a clip with a Western in one episode?
If it's the one I think it is, that'll be the one where they're driving through the Southall gasworks......
that was Faces approx 37min from the start..
What was the diesel at 6.51? a Class 37 or a Deltic?
0:11 How fast is Carter running?..Hhahaha
Great British stuff❤❤
0:09 I am sure they hadn't had any dinner m so they must have been pissed off to have had to chase him.
proper geezers
As embarrassing as spelling embarrassing wrong?
Like ACTUALLY running their asses off. No messing about then lol
2:32 that man needs lessons in "How Not To Be Seen"
Anyone else spot 6:35 looks like Joe Public nearly ruined a scene - but they left it in!!!!
.......and nice caboose at 3:35
One sherry drinker......
