- Delta Air Lines MD88 night landing at LaGuardia airport, New York during snowstorm. Two holds (1 hour), another 40 minutes on the ground waiting for another plane blocking taxiway...it was really challenging flight:)
Every subscription is appreciated:)
Awesome New York scenery !
Incredible skill. Thank you pilots, ATC and God.
When I worked for American Airlines, we took flights to NYC from the west coast for weekend jaunts (redeye Friday night, Saturday night hotel, back Sunday night), mostly in Manhattan. Easy train ride to/from JFK, no car rental needed & plenty of wall-to-wall fun within walking (or subway ride) from our hotel. Definitely recommend it on EVERYONE'S 'to do list'! 😉
This video is incredible! Really captures the power of the plane working its way through nature.
Justin Hopkins Thank you very much:)
Justin Hopkins Good observation.
Not only the plane is working through but the pilots also,
Justin Hopkins truely I'm from thier I miss the throggsneck Bridge my favorite

:)
@@TheMquads 2:44 - what and where is that big lit circle?
I flew in the same way and landed on the same runway back in 79 when I was a kid. But it was early September on a Sunday afternoon.
wow great video!!! might be best one I have seen in awhile, especially in these conditions!! great view of Orchard Beach, City Island and Throggs Neck section of the Bronx. "LaGuardia tower just inside Orchy for 22"
Thank you very much:) I really appreciate your comment:)
City Island one of New York's most exclusive residential areas

"M'Lady, we're making our final approach into Coruscant"
...A quick glimpse of LGA @ 1:56 (Rwy 31, I think...)... Cool!
Yes, that's 31. Can see Rikers at the top (end)of the Runway. Vectored him over Queens with a hook over the Sound with a landing onto Runway 22.
Excellent 👍👍
Thank you very much:)

featheredmusic Thank you:)

Bridget Murphy You mean time of landing? Around 6pm
Beautiful and now it's scary
I'm glad pilots know how to land in storms. Eeek
So much fun
Thank you:)
Nice.
+Aaron Johnson Thank you.
Have not flown out or into NYC in a long time. If LaGuardia is the only Airport that has a flight path around the borough(s) , then yeah that's the one.
WoW. intense
Looks like gta during Christmas dlc
All the different weather conditions around the world and still really only one major air crash a year. Amazing really! !
Some years have many, some only have a few.
It looks like smoke and the city is on fire rather then a snowstorm.
mofo popo freezing fire:)
How did you shoot this in such low light conditions? When I try to take video at night, it comes out black.
I bought Canon HF G10 especially for its low light capability:)
That's some kick-ass cinematography. What kind of video cam? Phone? Camera? An actual video cam ?
DaveFromBrooklyn Thank you very much:) video camera...Canon HF G10
More lights than north korea !
I didn't see one Deli or one Bar? Sure it's New York? The most beautiful video I've seen in this category. Hong Kong at night is great, but the luminaries are more sparsely distributed. Thank you.
+sundevilification Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it:)
+TheMquads Flying over a volcano.

Is Manhatten visible in all this snow? Great video.
+Michael Doyle Thank you:)
I have to land in LaGuardia tomorrow, I have before but its still nerve racking for me since your like right next to the water.
I am sure there were no problems, right?:)
landed perfectly :D
New York (LaGuardia)
at around 2:30 is that the Verrazano Bridge and Belt Parkway?
I´m not sure, we need someone from NY:)
Throgs Neck Bridge.
Snowstorm? Where? When?
Was you coming from ATL?
+stitch16261 DTW:)
That looks cold and freezing.
thr33wisemonks Yes:))
not a snow storm, though. they don't land in a snow storm. Airport closes. Unless it's international at jfk and even that depends on how bad a storm is.
I've never heard of an airport closing for a simple snow storm unless it's severe.
No. Never close for a snow storm. Where did you get this information? It has to be severe.
Ever hear of an ILS approach?
cretin beat d
We land in snow very often in winter. Three things need to be checked: 1) visibility, just like rain snow reduces visibility and you need the visibility stated on the approach plate for the approach you'll be flying. 2) braking performance. Snow is a runway "contaminant" and reduces braking performance. In airline ops we don't go into the charts, the dispatcher does this and most dispatchers are watching it carefully. If I don't get a report from him/her I'll ask them to check it before we begin the approach. They have access to RCR's (runway condition reports) and they know our landing weight. This is done via ACARs. 3) FAA airplane operating limits. You need to know what it is for your airplane. Most modern jets have limits of 2.5-3.0 inches of dry snow and .5 inches of wet snow or slush. Finally, be careful with reverse thrust as you slow to avoid a reverse thrust induced white-out. Not a big deal with tail mounted engines but wing mounted engines really kick it up and it can be a problem.
Wow rough landing yikes
Take off where
+Trần Tân Detroit DTW
I want to go to new York city
You definitely should:)
year???
+Viva La Revolucion 2014
where did you fly from
+Antonio Beltre (Tony) Detroit:)
That must suck with that weather
+TheMquads why is no one clapping when it lands
I guess that's the famous Brooklyn Bridge around 2:15
+Alan Doherty Nope that's the Throgs Neck Bridge. It connects the Clearview Expressway in eastern Queens to the Cross Bronx Expressway in the Bronx. The plane is flying over Queens not Brooklyn :)
MD 80
+StarKiller Base Collections yes:)
They talk about snow in the uk nd they shut the airport
Uh, that's NOT a snow storm. Must be new to the northeast.
