Delta 757-200 Landing in New York-JFK After a Snowstorm

- A bumpy descent and approach before landing into a snow-covered JFK at the tail end of a major storm. The airport reopened just before we landed, and ours was the first flight to arrive that day. Due to the weather delays, everything was running pretty far behind and we had to wait on the taxiway for about an hour and a half for an available gate, but that was at least better than getting diverted or cancelled, like some other flights that day. I'd have my fingers crossed all the way down I already hate landings at the best of times.
Pretty cool how the plane has enough fuel to idle on the ground for hours after touchdown.

I probably saw you land. I was sitting on the tarmac waiting to de-ice when you got in (I was on jetBlue so the de-icing pad was right behind your gate). That CRJ waiting by the runway was in my view for a long time.

Oh I can imagine. We hit the 3 hour limit after de-icing and ended up going back to the gate for half an hour. It was a mess that day.
Evan Kisseloff Yeah it was pretty crazy...I flew out that night and we had to wait two hours just to get our plane towed into the gate.
Yeah, crazy day to travel.
can someone please tell me why the flights from other country's didn't cancel there flights due to the storms in JFK ?
This was about a year ago, so I can't say for sure, but it could have been that they took off before the storms came in?
