- We are back with another installment of CMC bike tours to have Russell show us around his 1972 Honda CB350K4. As a lot of us know, even if you buy a running and ready-to-ride vintage motorcycle, it is still going to need some work. We love old Honda's, and they can be dead reliable, but the brakes, suspension, and tires need to be brought into the 21st century. Listen in to Russell's tale of his clean CB350 K4, the awesome 2,100-mile road trip he took on it, and what he fixed to prepare for it.

LOVE the Bike Tour videos. I want to hear more about how to long-distance tour on these machines. Avoid the interstate? Curious minds want to know all. My '73 CB350 is just about up to the task, I think. Maybe Common Motor could do another interview on how you did your tour prep and planning.
That’s a great bike! Wonderful find. 😎
Great to see you're keeping it stock. I bought one brand new in 1972 and am currently half way a total rebuild. Love these bikes.
So awesome, can't wait to start rebuilding a 81 cb450t for my daughter
Glad you found a pretty much unmolested CB to begin your trials by wrench on. She's gorgeous.
I had one, way back in 1979. I sure do miss my Betsey.
Clean bro. and looking stock I like it.
Fantastic bike Russell, thanks for the tour!
Great video. I've replaced many of the same parts on my K5 and now waiting for the long-awaited test drive in the spring.
Cool bike man
Congrats Russell on your 350 project. Great looking bike. Cheers and ride safe. Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Nice bike, great video. Well done!
I really enjoy the bike tours I notice Vermont plates on these bikes curious about that.
I have a 72 CB350 Gold near mint for being 49 yr old. It was kept in basement covered for 40+ . I has 10K miles of wear. I pick up set of coils from CMC ( great group of guys). They fit perfect. Also Carbs floats had holes in them so Picked up carb kit elsewhere. Going through the tuning now. Hopefully all works out else I rebuy but from CMC.
I rode one of those in High School in the 70's.
Sweet machine
Good job !! Love to see these old bikes in its original shape, with only a mild restoration. Sadly that so many are ruined today with cut-off frames. (Cafe racers, bobbers and all this stuff.)
Great bike! Love you passion and enthusiasm for riding and restoring.
I’d love to see a video on sissy bars that work for these…I have a 1972 CB450 and want to get into touring but am not sure which sissy bars work.
Awesome stuff, love the parts list. I have the same bike, and anticipate cutting off my Jurassic tires this next spring... What replacement pipes did ya ultimately go with?
It would be great to see an original paint job on it.
just made the same mistake with the tool kit and leaving the box open. thought i heard some metal "clink" on the highway on a turn but ignored it. got home and the tool box door was open and couple wrenches missing.
Have you thought about doing the Shockwave conversion kit for your bike?
I’m U.K. Mine is a 73 CB350G US import same bars as you. Fitted electronic ignition. Have you changed fork oil mine was like water. Only problem I have broken choke flaps can’t find any replacement. Great fun bike though.
Excellent, I also bought a US import earlier this year (71 K3). Fork oil was similarly past its best! I went for slightly lower bars from a CB400 (i think), nothing too extreme.
The purple looks stunning (checked your channel to see if you had any clips!)
Great bike. I recently took a 20 year old tire off my CB750. It was a real struggle, maybe because it was my first time changing a tire. I didn't realize cutting it off was an option. That might have been the way to go, rather than brute force with tire irons. The whole time I was doing I kept thinking "how much punishment can these rims can take before bending?" (I don't think I did any damage. Rim seems fine.) What would you use to cut a tire? Would a dremel cutting wheel do the trick?
