My nephew 3D printed me a tile spinner, thanks to your free file! I bought a few of the ceramic bathroom tiles you recommended from HD. Looking forward to now trying out your system! Thank you!

Can you show how the clay comes off of the tiles? Do you wire it or does it pop off? Would LOVE a video on that!

Hey Megan. Sorry i'm just now responding. I'm going to put this on the docket for future videos. Sorry i fell off the bandwagon lately. i've been trying to figure out these 3d printers for pottery tools - think i just about have them down now so hopefully can get back to pottery soon. Thanks! -mj

@@OutpostPottery thanks! If they come off super cleanly I’ll have to get one. I always wait till my pots pop up the bats.

@@mbruening0425 Hey Megan. Sorry i misunderstood which video you had watched! I always wire mine off the tiles. Occassionally i let them pop off naturally. When I do it leaves a really slick glossy bottom (glossy like the tile) but you're not really able to work with it much after that point. . If you let your pieces air dry and pop off the bats naturally i think i would recommend getting unglazed tiles with this system, rather than the glossy ones I use. Hope that helps! -mj

Just received mine in the mail yesterday! I still have to go to the hardware store to pick up some tiles. I was wondering, do you prefer the Matte or glossy style tiles? I’m thinking the matte tiles would be better. Any suggestions?
The family photo was a nice touch, wishing you all a merry Christmas.

Hey hey Thanks Ryan! I'm excited for you to try it out. Please let me know how you like it! I use glossy because that's what Home Depot or Lowes had a ton of when I was buying but i think matte would be good too. Sometimes when I'm throwing candles (vessels that we fill with wax for candles i mean) I leave the pot on the glossy tile until they are bone dry and they pop off automatically. This gives me a super smooth finish. But I bet the matte would be similar. Usually I just cut the vessel off the bat with a wire tool when it's on the wetter side of leather hard. Merry Christmas to you too, my friend. Thanks for getting a Tile Spinner. That's awesome. -mj

Hi I have just bought a 9.8 inch wheel from Amazon in the UK… the Vevor style orange one
I have no pins but would love to use your spinner …

Hiii, I have the same size wheel. Did you find a bat system for it yet?

  • @goatlady01

What if you have the cheaper wheel like the one you talk about on your review that does not have bat pins?

Hi Renee. If you have a wheel without bat pins hold off on buying the spinner. I am working on a spinner that will work for some of those budget wheels from amazon. The current Tile Spinner is for 10" bat pins so that wouldn't work for your wheel. I'll let you know when it comes out though! Thanks for asking that! -mj
