I'll probably give OW2 a shot but now that I'm working full time and have a GF with limited time to play except on weekends I don't know how I feel about the battlepass system.
Blizzard needs to realize that their audience has grown savvy enough to notice trigger words like "Weekly bundles", "Instant Unlocks", and "Battle Pass". These are all words that indicate that 90% of this game will be weaved into a scheme that encourages you to pay more money. Do you guys remember the days when you bought a game and were able to play all of its content without being constantly pressured to spend more money on it?
This in no way looks like a sequel... it looks like a seasonal update and new character. Wasn't there suppossed to be a big single player campaign with this? Wasn't that their entire thing with OW2?
Blizzard, you probably won't read this but what if you made a hero xp update where if you got kills or you played this specific hero you get xp and you can use that xp that you gained and spend it to buy skin, voicelines, etc. Then there will also be challenges to do with that hero and get xp from the doing the challenge. This is just a suggestion, so if you would like to make this change it just might increase your player count and will have a of replayability. Please respond and tell your thoughts about this comment. Edit: Oh and make it easier to get credits cause 30 credits for challenges is not enough

All I ask is that the battle passes stay available to progress through after the season ends like I’m halo infinite, I love how at least I’m that game you don’t have to worry about losing access to something you already bought after the season finishes
Given Warzone doesn't do that
Overwatch won't either bruh
agreed.
unfortunately not gonna happen
Alright guys, make sure to keep your expectations at ground level. Maybe even underground.
Nuclear fallout shelter level
The echo and lucio skin didn't come out until season 2, fun fact
0:43 It's great to see Bangalore finally accepted into Overwatch I'm so proud of her.
Bangalore don't be looking that hot in apex though 👀
🤣
Mozambique here? 😢
Blizzard OW1: Just play a few games every week and you can unlock every skin in the game, no problems
Blizzard OW2: Give us $10 every 9 weeks or you get nothing.
argh! 10$ to earn access to the battle pass
25$ (probably or more) for the "premium pass" (which usually means tier skips for those people who love to throw away money)
More concerning was how 40% of the trailer was about new cosmetics you can buy
THIS IS NOT A DRILL! WE FINALLY HAVE MARKETING FOR THE GAME! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
:D
WE UNLOCKED MARKETING WOO HOO
we have unlocked marketing perms
Don't like it don't play it.
@@anthonyjimenez2280 Dude for real... I get the concerns, but this isn't an airport, no need to announce your departure. If you don't like this game don't give Blizzard your money. So much reeeing going on in this comment section.
Cosmetics I get, but locking HEROES behind a Battle Pass paywall/grind is absolutely atrocious. I can’t be the only one who feels this way.
Watching this gives me a bittersweet feeling. Overwatch 1 was one of the games where I got into the hype at launch and spent many long nights matching up with random players I had good ranked games with from 2016 to 2019 when I stopped playing. I found out I liked playing DVA and Winston even though I hate tank rolls in other games. I'll probably give OW2 a shot but now that I'm working full time and have a GF with limited time to play except on weekends I don't know how I feel about the battlepass system.
you could buy the characters instead but that’ll be a lot of characters/skins to buy. this is a mobile game problem
Well said 👏
All we need is to be able to pick favorite skins so it shuffles between the ones we want to use
Yes please, having too many skins but didn't know which one to choose
Not a problem for new players, they will have 0-1 skins to choose from
ur wish is fulfilled
Imagine we are all coming back in one year and say "Ah, I miss the OG days".
And we do
I miss the OG days.
I never thought i will see a new Halloween event. I'm proud of all of you overwatch Developer's.
Um...like...junkerstein event?
@@PyroManiacOW A new one , as in one that isnt Junkenstein's revenge with different heroes to choose from.
I never thought I would be excited by the idea of another Halloween event
@@alybadry203 even other events never change, junkestein revenge wasn't the only event
So cool u get to play with tank , junkerquee
1:13 Blizzard decided to make echo's skin a season 2 battlepass unlockable fsr... Just blizzard doing blizzard things I guess
"The most rewarding Overwatch experience ever" *proceeds to give players 60 coins per week for completing challenges*
I'm fine with paying regularly to support everyone who works on this game. I am not fine with paying and being unable to play the game. Really hoping the maintenance that just started helps.
I am so HYPED for this! Overwatch is back!
Hopefully overwatch Makes a big comeback cause I absolutely loved the first
looks like an amazing game! surely nothing will go wrong...
Dva's EDM skin is everything 😍
I know im buying the battle pass becuase of it 😍
hero locked to battlepass is fine if it's in the first 15 tiers BUT WHEN IT'S AT 55th TIER THEN THERE'S A PROBLEM!
"The world could always use more heros" SHE STOLE THAT FROM TRACER HOW DARE THEY. THATS HER LINE
0:52 *OH MY GOD YESSSSS!!!*
I cannot wait to make (hopefully) endless videos on this, October is gonna be awesome
Please don’t lock heroes behind the battle pass.
The soul of this game left with Jeff
I love this news I just hope they don't go overboard with paid things
It’s Blizzard, of course they will
Rip the only fair lootboxes in gaming time for 10$ skins lol
I honestly hate how oblivious people are, hoping that Blizzard will stop being Blizzard.
It’s literally all paid things bruh
Activision Blizzard made Diablo Immortal. They absolutely will cause it makes them the most money. Gotta pay for Bobby Kotick's for seventeenth yacht.
Ok that Mythic Genji, Bomb voyage Junkrat and Cyber punk RoadHog skins looked so awesome. And the long awaited new Junkenstein's Event looks like an all female hero storyline that sounds cool to play through.
"For the most rewarding Overwatch experience ever."
there's no way they put that in there
I love how it turned out, it’s just a little bit sad that the heroes are locked behind the battlepass but I hope it works
As long as they aren’t in the paid pass I’m okay with it
Can thou read?
@@charKT-7461 they're not, it's official

Money hungry Blizzard cashing out with a ‘battle pass’. Must’ve been hit hard by all those lawsuits.
Overwatch continues to have the best skins in the fps scene bar none
Apex on a good day can be pretty compelling IMO, but yeah, in general, usually.
Fortnite Goku would love to have a word

I still can't belive that the next heros will be locked in the Battle pass. This is a serious downgrade from overwatch 1. I still want to play competitive with all the heros and without limitations. Overwatch has become a pay to win game
You have to have all heros to play comp and at the start if the season there's a 2 week period where the new hero can't be played in comp
I still need to pay or to grind the battle pass to play competitive
Don't like it don't play it broke boys.

okay but looking back at this, what is that echo skin???
look at season 2 battle pass lmfao
I AM SHITTING DYING CRYING, I CANT BELIEVE OW2 IS SO CLOSE. ALL OF THE SKINS LOOK SO GOOD TOO!!!! YOU DID THAT TEAM 4!!!
I don't think you can just use the phrase "most rewarding overwatch experience ever" while at the same time selling heroes to people. Seriously just fix that one thing and you have a pretty good business model. People will buy your battlepass if you have good enough skins you don't have to pinch people for the heroes. Have some confidence in yourself.
Heroes are locked until tier 55 for people that don't want or don't have money to buy the bp... that is scummy.
So this game is marketing/selling itself with skins, rather than gameplay LMAO
"Rise up for the most rewarding Overwatch experience ever" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I see Junkrat prefectly fit in the Addams Family
Kiriko being an instant unlock for OW1 players warms my heart :)
You shouldn’t have to unlock heroes in the first place anyway
Why should the heroes be unlocks at all?
@@iainkilcar7463 bc it’s f2p
@@sonza___ f2p

I'm happy that they made Kiriko insta unlockable if you owned OW1. Also the Genji skin's dragon has also been changed, first time in ages this has happened
They didn't though. You need to buy the NEW version of OW1 that includes the first OW2 battle pass for that.
I think they only changed it once right ? With the Baihu skin. I wish they'd add more "special" details to skins like Hanzo's Wolf skins shooting... well wolves (and also give Reyes skins his young voice)
I never thought I'd say this, but God I miss loot boxes.
Wow, look at all these monetization features! So glad we got this instead of more than three heroes!
LITERALLY! AND PEOPLE ARE EXCITED ANYWAYS
It's what the gaming industry has become, maybe adapting to the modern gaming industry will help the game survive
Taking the lazy route of hiding characters in the battle pass to get more money will never stop disappointing me
So many skins- they've been holding them back these 3 years for this game. Give me. Give me skins
Give them money then, and for some skin it will be like 60 bucks apparently 🤡🤡
definitely gonna try it, but I am just not feeling it yet. hope that we can get back to that 2016 era hype again, cause it still is one of the best pvp games out there.
if you want the 2016 era back join the cause and boycott f2p games. if people keep spending hundreds no thousands of dollars on f2p games instead of 40 for a full game upfront then itll just get worse
@@wtf.is.this.new.alias.system I am gonna play, but I'm not gonna pay. If more do that, the effect is the same since they won't make any money from it.
Being in university, I can't wait to hop on for a quick game to de-stress, where my team surely won't get stomped on because we don't own a hero or have the time to unlock them. I surely won't quit! Right?
Nah you ll like to see the downfall of a game you used to like so much and play it everyday like you did in the past...
Please list here all the +80 new skins, I am curious
I much prefer the loot boxes in OW 1. I bought every skin, emote, etc. I wanted without spending a dime over my initial purchase.
1:23 I like how mercy says “this is not the end!” Despite being the end of Overwatch 1. However, I suppose it is not the end of Overwatch as a whole, thank god.
This is not the end. It’s only the beginning. - Olivia Pierce, Doom 2016
I used to brag about how different Overwatch was. Not needing to grind forever just to play all the heroes and the way you could easily earn all the cosmetics you really liked without spending a dime as long as you played enough. I loved Overwatch because it was something special. Something different. Something unique and refreshing. Not even just in the cosmetics department, but in the gameplay too. Now it seems as though y'all just wanna be like everybody else because it pays more. It's sad.
As always, trailer has me HYPED!!!
After all this years its soo exciting to see new faces on the roaster
Kiriko witch skin is cute asf
why is 80% of the trailer for a self proclaimed sequel about skins and a battle pass?
That's what I've been saying but I've been called a hater for calling out this garbage. Literally nothing but skins but the kicker is we have to pay for it now
I'm not gona lie...I had some tears in my eyes. Finally...it's almost here!
WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE EVERTHING SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE LIKE THEY WENT OVERBOARD
"The most rewarding" huh, even though I have the Battle Pass I mostly feel like im just getting junk..
Dont wanna imagine how it feels to not have the battle pass....
Please dont milk this game with money! Ive been playing overwatch for 6yrs and i enjoyed unlocking the skins. I dont mind paying for a pass as long as its cheap

Imagine locking heroes behind a battle pass in a hero oriented game that’s dependent on metas and counter picking 💀
I wonder what other games are like that !
Like Valorant, Apex Legends, League of Legends and more? Yeah I can clearly imagine it. Seriously you guys need a reality check...
First time?
@@neppeth I think they meant specifically that Overwatch was originally supposed to be about counter-picking on the fly by switching heroes in-game as needed. You can't swap heroes mid-match in any of the games you mentioned.
@@devzorsmallz I think the game has evolved from that standpoint. Sure you can switch, but what’s the point in switching to a completely new hero that you’re just going to throw on due to lack of experience. Plus, the heros are not locked behind a paywall: you can unlock it by playing the game. The only thing that you have to pay for are the cosmetics.
You can easily see how this might blow up in their face
I didnt expect a 40k themed skin but I am here for it.
1 step forward 2 steps back
Not gonna lie, adding only 3 new heroes might be a death sentence for this "sequel". I don't mind the battle pass, but that's just not enough new content. I vaguely remember Jeff Kaplan promising at least three new heroes per role. What have they been doing all this time ...
Overwatch 2 should have just been it's own game with a whole new cast of characters. I'm really not going to pay for battle passes to unlock heroes.
SO THERE IS CONTENT!!!
i was so scared it was just going to be the beta but with cosmetics
glad to finally see something different than junkensteins revenge for the 1000th year in a row
I would have happily payed £40 or more for this game. Why did they feel the need to do a battle pass?
I wish they had put this level of love into ow 1. It probably wouldn’t have died tbh.
that first year of overwatch was godly. wtf did they do to it. all the events wowed me and then they just ... repeated them
"love" lmao, "pay us more for the cool things" more like, because old lootbox model wasn't good enough to bankroll Blizzard's e-sports addiction... I mean, consistent patches, say goodbye to playing for good skins forever
they put way more love into OW1’s launch, then just screwed off for 6 years
@@HigakiRinne yeah, about the e-sports part, i have no idea why they are so obsessed with e-sports. Other games maybe make some cosmetics and maybe take a little advice from pro's, but with Blizzard everything revolves around the OWL, instead of listening to the majority of the playerbase.
I think a battle pass is what's gonna make me quit overwatch, no offense but I hate battlepasses
