Tom! These videos are stunning! The b-roll, framing, aerials, colours, audio quality, music choice, edit, and just the beautiful gentle flow of the story is all top draw. This is the closest thing I've found to a modern day Passion for Angling with the gentle authentic mindful feel you've created that just makes you want to be there with you. I think that's the biggest praise I could give. I can see why Carl employed you.
I'm so glad that Gavin from Earlsdale Retreat (that we're staying near and fishing at next week) told me about your channel.
If you ever do fancy a one off camera man to capture that b-roll for you (to hire another you😂) please give me a shout.

Think the fact you got a couple of thousand subs from just two vids should tell you a lot about how good the content is! I loved the atmospheric element to this one and as many folks have said, you are certainly very adept at the technical parts of putting together a great video (which I’m sure are a huge amount of work that most of us won’t appreciate!). I’m not alone in hoping the part which follows on after “to be continued” arrives soon! Tight lines in your fishing whether you’re filming or not Tom!

Brilliant video Tom I'd definitely recommend a weed rake and I'd also recommend regular pre baiting these two things alone have always kept me in good stead when fishing natural venues
As we’re going into the cooler side of the year I’ll be getting on it! Definitely going to give both those tactics a go

Hi mate grate video i live not to far from there and have fished it many times with my mate there is or atlest was carp in there it is just difficult to fish as lots of weed good luck and look forward to seeing you return to this spot

Amazing video! Great job, the amount of work for 10 minutes video (filming, editing) is insane!
You start to notice this only after filming a video by yourself.
Self filming is definitely not conducive to good angling 😂 it’s tricky!!
@@tomwilshaw Exactly, once I started to film fishing vlogs, I noticed that I am drowning more in cameras and editing rather fishing. So I said to myself you are a fisherman, not a pro camera man, and mediocre image should be enough :)
Lovely video, even without a fish. Pity about the trains though- it would be a perfect spot without that extra noise!
After the 52nd train going by you start to tune it out 😅

Tom quit your day job as soon as you can mate and keep making these videos. This and your first video with the 360 camera are two of the most well presented and skilfully edited videos that I've seen a newbie produce. You come across as such a relatable and likeable person too. Outstanding work mate.

It's a careful balance trying to get the shots without the sacrificing the fishing, I think it was a little too in favour of the camerawork this time round 😂 Thank you for the kind words though :)

Pretty interested in the mysterious story line, of you fishing this deserted little spot, that was a personal interest to you. To see what's in there or might be lurking. You possess an interesting blend of outdoorsman and yet contemporary techie approach. You really get out there by yourself - alone - and still use. Some of the today's fishing means to figure out what's going on there. Then you're right. This spot is a little mystifying itself. ( The weeds would drive me crazy). And you camping there really adds a cool angle, to those of us who are deeply hooked on the outdoors ourself. Yeah you've hooked you a newby. I subscribed. From the good old usa. [ Well that's a stretch .. lol ] Looking forward to sharing some of your adventures..... :)

You don’t need to spend money on a rake you can weld one out of rio bars and put old timber saw blade’s between the rio
What u need is a weed cleaning rake clean around 10m from the bank around 3 m wide berly for a week everyday then go fishing

Sorry for the late reply! Only just seen this - I use a Canon EOR R for my videos, but any modern mirrorless camera will get you most of the way there, and then the second piece of the puzzle is a good lens :)

Whilst a Zig probably would present very well, I wouldn’t like to play a fish on one through all of that weed 😬 maybe with a drop off system for the lead…

Great video, I've subscribed! - Maybe consider using a Chod rig with a light lead to make sure that you're always presented even if there's a layer of weed, I think that small fishing RUclips channel @fishwithcarl / @fishingtoutorials has a video on how to tie one ;-)

Get a rake out lad!! Oh my... place is begging out for a days raking, loads of area for fish to explore and give them it. And shit ...at around 8: 20 or whatever... you said it.... you are going to rake it, get some bait down. Rake it again.... Liven the place up. !.
