Got mine this week. I've been playing for 60 years, owned Gibsons, Fenders, etc. This is the most playable, by far.

Here's a great example of what I've been saying for 30+ years: give a 4000$ Gibson to a beginner, it will sound terrible, but put any guitar, in the hands of a real pro, and magic, will come out of it, no matter the price tag of the instrument.

I received my Eart E-335 5 weeks ago and it goes well past my expectations. It was perfect right out of the box and the reviews on this instrument are not exagerated. The finish is flawless. The best bang for the buck as far as I'm concerned.

Had mine (Eart 335) now for a few months. When I first got it, it's all I played for weeks....loved it! Then I hung it on the wall and went back to my Gibson, PRS, and Fenders. Now I pick it up again and it seems EVEN BETTER! It is simply the easiest playing, best sounding, lightest, most perfect all around guitar I have. Thanks for your reviews...I always love your straight forward honest and approach.

I am a super fan of matte finish and open pore style. Got mine from Amazon early this year. I think EART did a great job coordinating features people appreciate, without going to far away from 335 territory.

I've been looking at this guitar for a while now Jonathan so, as usual, I was delighted to see, and hear, it in your trusty hands and get your much valued opinion. I liked the fact that it had stainless steel frets ( at the price ) and another reviewer said he loved the neck. It sounds great too and your opinion of the pickups has encouraged me to look to buying this guitar. I used to have a lovely 335 but sold it many years ago when times were tight ( I still regret it ) but this looks like an excellent, affordable option. Thanks again for your superb reviews Jonathan. Love & Light brother x

Good job on the review Jon
I Received my EART ES-335 on the 23rd of December, opened it on Christmas day and was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY...WHAT THE HeLL is going on!!!
I never, ever buy anything on the net based on the recommendations of people on these "Diy or review" channels. Honestly, I was expecting a worse case scenario as many of my friends have fallen into this kind of trap.
This guitar is RIDICULOUS, and buy that I mean it is mind bogglingly FANTASTIC. I have been playing and teaching guitar for over forty years, and have also built dozens of guitars for myself and other working musicians. I have also played hundreds of guitars in big and small retail stores all across the U.S...and every guitar that ever looked and played this well was in the 2k-3k category.
I personally took a magnifying glass to this piece and went over and over and only found ONE small flaw in the binding (not visible to the naked eye) and even that was just a small tool mark.
The intonation was off by a little bit and it took all of five min. to correct it. IMO, the Pickups are great and on or off this guitar sings. Honestly, the only thing I wish EART would have done is to KEEP the LOVE ROCK logo on the headstock, "MINE DID NOT HAVE ONE ON IT" which was kinda disappointing and to be honest, IMO if they just replaced that EART with "LOVE ROCK" it would look even better.
All in all this guitar exceeded all my expectations. I found this guitar to be wonderfully and beautifully made in spite of the steel frets which all are reaving about (and I could care less about them). IMO this piece in particular should make the brand name competitors (you know who you are) shake in their boots. Don't get me wrong, I am a brand collector and fanatic from way back, but at this price point...why oh why would you pay thousands of dollars for a brand name ES-335 when you could get this beauty of an ES-335 which actually plays better than it's brand name counterpart and all for under $400.00. WOW, keep it up EART. Oh yeah, put the LOVE ROCK logo back on the guitar. PEACE.

Great playing makes this budget guitar sing. I own one myself and it plays great. I also owned a 1967 Gibson 335 which sounded amazing but weight was too much for my back. I also own a Burny 335 copy and it sounds and plays great too. So many great 335 guitars to be found today. Thanks for your review. Dave.

I firmly believe that you could make an electric shovel sound like a million bucks. Great playing. I thought the Tokai had a bit warmer tone, but the EART sounded very nice. Good to have more value options on the market for players. The compound radius is an interesting feature I've not noticed on other semi hollow body guitars. Wonder how it would compare to my D'ANGELO Excel DC.

I love your guitar playing Jon...liked, subscribed, and rang dat bell...!
AND I'm buying an EART ES-335 tomorrow morning from the EART link below, it's already in my cart ready to go. I was going to spend over twice as much on a D'Angelico DC mini Premier, which is a very attractive guitar, but the tones you demonstrated from this EART are more what I'm looking for - clean and pretty, rather than distorted hard rock. I also like the finish more, rather than a thick, shiny finish, plus mahogany is my favorite tone wood. The people at EART designed this guitar properly, and the pickups are voiced beautifully, hoping to see it next week. I'll be digging your video music in the future - cheers!

Really like the matte finish look and especially the way the headstock was done. Pickups sound amazing but I wish they went with a softer white for the binding. I do own the Nk-C3, glad to see they added this to their line of guitars.

I bought an EART EGLP-511 (which is currently out of production) based on what I heard about this guitar. I LOVE IT. It is without doubt the smoothest playing instrument compared to Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker, all of which I've owned in the past. The fretwork is FLAWLESS on all their models. I now play a 3000 guitar with a $400 pricetag. Btw: I admit I am a Gibson snob.

I know you like to work on guitars so I'm going to give you a tutorial on how I do my fret polishing. I use a fret Guru ultimate fret end file these are the best I have found. The nose is rounded over and Polished the bottom is ground Precision flat and Polished. They are a small square Grobet file. The flat end goes on the bottom against your fretboard. These files are great for creating binding nibs. They allow you to get right down in the corner where the Fret meets the board. I usually go left right so starting from the 22nd fret on the high E Side I place the file right down in the corner against the fretboard and the Fret and I go 2 Strokes from the bottom up and over the top lightly knocking off the little Edge between the bevel and the Fret. I do this on every Fret then I return coming back from the first Fret to the 22nd Fret doing the right hand side of each fret the same way. Then I flip the guitar around and do the low E Side from left to right starting with the first Fret. All I do is go from the bottom of each Fret up and over on the left side of each Fret and then coming back I go from the bottom up and over on the right side of each Fret, it doesn't really matter which side you start on high E or low E. I'm just ever so slightly knocking the edge off giving it a slight preshape before I do my polishing. I use 3M TriMite wet/dry polishing paper. It comes in six different color coded micron graded grits starting with 400 Grit which is Olive green, working my way all the way up to the last grit which is 8000 Grit. the last grit is so pale color-wise that I always Mark the back side so I won't get the back and the front mixed up. It's so fine you can't really tell by feel. I get mine from Rio Grande jewelry supply because you get two full size 9"× 11" inch sheets of each Grit, 12 sheets total for the same price $15 everybody else charges for one sheet of each grit, 6 sheets total. They are also full-sized sheets and a lot of people will tell you they're sending you 12 sheets but if you look it's 1/4 or 1/2 sheets. I cut the paper into 1/4 sheet size an fold each piece like a tri-fold wallet. Starting with the coarsest Grit going from the first fret I polish up all the Frets and the Fretboard at the same time. Once I've run through all the Frets I will hold that particular Grit of polishing paper at approximately a 45 degree angle on the edge of the guitar and run up and down the entire length of the fretboard hitting every single fret probably 30 times. I do this on both sides of the guitar, the high E and the low E. I repeat the same process using the next grit finer until I get all the way down to the last grit which is 8000 Grit. On the last three grits I will polish the Fret slots and the saddle slots while I'm at it. when I'm finished my unfinished Ebony, Rosewood or other unfinished wood shines like a polished Rock, like lacquered Maple even though the wood is unfinished and the Frets look like newly polished chrome, like mirrors. I don't spend any time taping up the guitar except the pickups because I don't want any of this dust to get down into the guitar around the pickups. The time that I would spend taping up a guitar I use on the polishing, killing three birds with one stone. I end up with the entire Fretboard and the Frets looking like glass as well as beautifully rounded hemispherical ends on the Frets which feel so incredibly comfortable when you're playing. I don't spend any more time than I would meticulously taping up the guitar and polishing the Frets by themselves. Everybody that I have done this for or has seen a guitar that I have done this on comments on how shiny the fretboard is they wonder if I have put some kind of finish on it and they are amazed at how smooth and nice all of it feels. I hope this helps you once you try this method you won't ever go back.
    God Bless You
    and Your Family!!

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I really hope this helps you. All the videos I've seen all show people creating SemI-Hemispherical (Hotdog) Fret Ends one at the time. The way I do it is to slightly pre-shape them as previously described the creatate them all at once using 3M TriMite Polishing Paper. It's much easier to create them all at once as well as being much faster serious plus you have the added advantage of their All Uniform and everyone looks the same shape size and roundedness. You could easily sit down an hour or so do one guitar after you get good out of you can do it in less than an hour especially because you don't waste all that time taping everything up. What you end up with is superior to taping everything up because your fretboard is polished like a polished Rock. It's super slick to the hand and touch the Frets look like mirrors and the ends feel so luxurious this makes all your guitars super comfortable when playing if you have a guitar that you've refretted you don't need to put much of a bevel on the Frets 10° or 15° at the most. You could even leave them flush with the edge of your Fretboard at 90°. Either way you will have more real estate on the top of your frets with less chance of your strings going off the edge. This is especially important when you are refretting with really tall Frets like Jumbo .110W × .057H or Super Jumbo Frets .118W × .058 When you Bevel those type of frets or any of the really tall ones like the ones Jescar makes. I call them Medium Tall - .090W × .055T and you bevel your friends at the industry-standard of 35° by the time you get to the top of Frets that tall the actual space on the top is much smaller than they are with lower frets and you don't have nearly as much real estate on the top of your frets. This is another great reason why I like to do the Fret ends like this. It doesn't matter what height my frets are, when I'm doing a refret I will always use as little bevel as possible. This gives you the most surface or as I say real estate on the top of your Frets themselves.
      God Bless my Brother!!

That’s a great value ES copy Jon, possibly better value than the Harley Benton HB35 +. I was lucky to get my HB when they used Wilkinson pups and better woods. I couldn’t hear a big difference between the two and I know Tokai are quality which says a lot. Very interesting Jon - cheers 😀

seen a couple other reviews of this guitar recently... your playing really showed off what it can do better than the others! I like the unique finish on the body and neck. overall it seems like a very good value for the price. the only negative for me is the sound of the guitar seems a bit too bright and you showed that with the comparison to the Tokai. I'm sure its possible to work around that with tone knobs and amp settings. would def consider getting this.

Very nice playing, even moving! I'm tempted to want to have this guitar. However, their site is unclear about shipping costs, you only get to know after ordering. I could order from Amazon, but there customers are complaining about VAT. You may have to pay 500 instead of the 400 you expect, due to taxes. It is also not clear whether it's the 2021 model. And the package is said to be over 22 kilos. That seems a lot to me for a hollow body. So I think the company has some things to improve in the buying process.

Jonathan, can you confirm with Eart guitars that they actually use Stainless Steel frets and not nickel coated frets that are not real steel thx. There was a comment on your site concerning this and ask for some due diligence if you would be so kind to get to the bottom of this. BTW please play some more ribs, but like at least five minutes of jamming. I'd love to have it to listen to. Thx again. RS

Hi Robert.. I have asked them personally before I made the 1st video. And they have confirmed they are using SS frets for models which have them on specs. I don’t know where the comment poster have his info from. In any case, if Harley Benton can have SS in their similar priced guitars, why not EART? If you have doubts, please do not purchase. I try my best to provide accurate info on the guitars I review and I find it tiresome to have to explain on the companies behalf. Please Note I do not work for them. Stay safe✌️❤️

Is there binding on the f holes? If so well done - quite rare at this pricepoint. i've customed my HB 35 with Hipshot tuners, CTS pots, Gotoh bridge, bone nut, 6way Freeway switch and Gretsch PU's. That was a really hard work (all done through the f holes with hands like spades), so now the price of my HB is way over this guitar and quite simillar soundwise. If i did know this guitar earlier i think i did have bought this EART. I like that "finish" a lot, after a year of playing, it will look very unique signed by sweat and rubbing. Thanks for this review and comparision with the Tokai.

I've seen tons of your videos and I've never seen a bad one. You never let me down always great. Epic. I would like to know your opinion on this guitar versus an Epiphone 335 Pro. Last Christmas December 2021 me, my family and my nephew who got his stepfather and Epiphone 335 Pro in the same vintage sunburst color that you have this Eart guitar. It has a Pao Ferro fretboard which I really like because it is so smooth slick and waxy the wood is that when I polish it it looks like it's been finished without a finish on it. It polishes up and shines like lacquered maple with just the bare wood and it is a closed poor wood it just looks really great. The Epiphone 335 pro model has the small block inlays which are really beautiful and push pull pots so you can split the coils. A lot of guitars that have this feature the pickups just sound like weak thin pickups but these sound really good on the single coil setting and on the humbucker setting they are really warm and fat sounding. I used to hear people complain about Epiphone pickups but they said in 2020 they had a major Improvement and I really believe it. This was purchased for my brother-in-law Craig and he really loves this guitar he's been wanting a 335 Gibson but none of us had the money to get it so we got the Epiphone brand new. It was $500 but I got it on sale at Musician's Friend for $400 and I'll have to say it's been every bit as good as any Gibson I've ever seen. The fretwork was a lot better than the fretwork on his 2015 Les Paul Studio. But had lousy fretwork and I had to do a complete level crown and polish on that guitar to make it playable. I really didn't have to do anything on this guitar except I wanted to make it extra nice so I put my special fret and fretboard polishing technique on it. this leaves you with a fretboard that shines like lacquered maple fruits that look like newly polished chrome and rounded hemispherical ends on the frets. I did change the Wilkinson tuners which were adequate to a really nice set of 19:1 ratio Kluson Revolution locking tuners. They have the exact same look and footprint as the Vintage 2 hole tuners have but they are modern sealed down like a Steelers which are Super accurate. these tuners are the best on the market in this particular style. I would really real you your opinion and expertise as to what you think the comparison is between these two guitars the Epiphone and the Eart. As always God bless you and your family. I sent Craig a link to your video on your testimony of coming to Christ both him and myself are Christians and have given our lives to Christ long ago but we thought your story was moving it moved me to tears and he said the same thing. your friend, Jimmy in NC....

@@JonIsJustTooLoud It's definitely a little bit of work, but I spend less time doing it this way than I would if I were to tape up the Fretboard meticulously and Polish only the Frets. When I'm done I not only have the Frets Polished I have the Fretboard Polished and the ends of the Frets nicely rounded much faster than individually rounding the Frets one at the time. If you slightly preshape the Frets with the Fret Guru Ultimate Fret End File beforehand the Polishing paper rounds them all at once just by running up and down the edge of your Fretboard at approximately 45° you round every Fret end at the same time. It's much easier this way and you accomplish three things at once. Plus you get a superior looking/feelingF retboard and those hemispherical or hotdog ends as some people call them are really nice when you run your hand up and down them. I have never seen anybody do it like this. All the people I have seen or all the videos I have seen people spend much more time rounding each individual fret one at the time which is much more time consuming than rounding them all at once.
      God Bless!!

I wish the neck were thicker. My arthritic hands won't tolerate skinny necks. The neck on that guitar is .78 at the 1st fret and .82 at the 12th. I need at least .9 at the 1st and 1.0 at the 12th.

Man I had my hopes up for this guitar as I wanted a 335 style guitar without spending a lot of money. Ordered one on Amazon and it arrived today. Totally disappointed. The Bridge was put on bent backwards to the body. One side of the bridge with the recessed threaded insert was not in all the way and sideways. The other side was in all the way but set in at a sharp angle towards the tail piece. No way to get the bridge to sit as it should. The binding was very cheap looking and peeling off in places. Looked like plastic added after finishing? Frets and fretboard were nice but could not overlook the overall lack of quality of this guitar. I have a Harley Benton that cost much less than this that is a fantastic, well made instrument. The Eart looks very "toy like" in comparison. I am impressed with the Harley Benton as the quality of that guitar is really nice even compared to some of my much more expensive, modern and vintage Gibson and Fender guitars. I had high hopes for the Eart , but I was really disappointed with the one I received.
