Get em while you can at $279.30
Eart recently dropped the price from $379.00 down to $279.30 (sept 21 2020) my brother was constantly borrowing my Gibson 335 for recording projects. I would get it back with dead strings and new scratches. I told him to buy his own and sent him your review. That was 6 months ago. I gotta tell ya I was blown away when I played the Eart 335. Its lighter than my Gibson by at least 2 pounds. It plays and sounds fantastic. The finish work at the fret ends is not good but that doesn't impair the playability. The unbranded tuners stay in tune! What an amazing semi hollow body guitar for the price. I can only imagine how it could sound with real PAF, or Duncan pickups. Great review Mr Carlisle. Thanks for steering your followers in the right direction.

I love it when a guitar's headstock is the same color as the guitar body. That really adds to the look in my opinion. I think it sounds good, too.
By the way, the guitar weights 2.8 kilograms, not 2.8 kilometers. Kilometers is a measure of distance, like miles. Kilograms is weight.

I've watched a lot of semi hollow guitar videos and I still love my ES 339 pro with the original headstock and the rosewood fretboard and coil splitting features. If I was to buy another one it would be the Monoprice burst you did a video on previously.

I agree fret buzz can be "difficult"- especially when you adjust the guitar and it still persists. If the action got changed on the guitar, don't forget to adjust the pickup height (afterwards). It's good to have the spacing between the pickup and the string correct. I want 1 of these guitars for sure.🎸

The last time I heard some stunning hollowbody shredding was at Woodstock, by Alvin Lee of Ten Years After.
It seems that Epiphone got too comfortable under the Gibson umbrella and slowly has raised their prices, until competitors jump in the gap with better QC and specs.
Mind you, a stainless steel fret conversion by a skilled luthier may cost you easily more than $400!

Alvin lee was great musician. He at his time was considered one of the faster guitarists. But man good he play. And think about this back then you just basically play thru your Amps .Which is what Rory Gallagher did. To sound like lee or Gallagher today we have all kind of help technology wise. I don’t guitarist today appreciate that fact .

I enjoy the industry insight videos. I also agree with your assessment here, Eart has really begun to solidify into a pretty respectable guitar manufacturer. When you also take into account the custom shop level brands coming out of China like Shijie and Eastman it’s clear that the Far East is really coming into their own. One last thing, I also have the Mustang GTX100 and think it’s the ultimate home amp. It sounds really good, models the entire signal chain (pedals included) of your favorite bands/songs and can be completely controlled from your phone or tablet! It doesn’t get much better than that 🤟🏼

My question is why buy ANY product that benefits the slaver regime of the CCP, helping their economy enough to keep their people from revolting for freedom at the expense of free people in Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Eastern Europe Australia , Canada or the USA? All of whom make the worlds best instruments ( which is clearly subjective of course ).
But to me a very important ingredient of any purchase decision is if the people who made it are part of a non-democratic enterprise like the CCP.
For comparison, those who knew of the crimes against humanity of the Third Reich in 1934-39 before war broke out but still sought to do business with them are just as guilty as Herman Goering in my book.

I am no expert, but I think a lot of novice guitarists shy away from semi-hollow bodies. They think it's just a jazzie, bluezie guitar and they would rather shred or "rock out" (and i get it. the look almost as important for some). But what a versatile style though! Even a practice amp with some sort of functionality and a pedal or two and they will shred and sound good doing it. I did an Epi Studio first because of the HH set up, then a Squire SSS (but has a hotrail on the bridge. Then the "super-strat" with HS and hotrail on neck. Then finally a semi-hollow body (cheaper than the other three) and at the end of the night that's the one I have in my lap.

I love open-grain finishes like on my Gibson SG Faded. It's neat to see a semi-hollow with such a finish - it seems rare to find semi-hollows with open-grain, woody finishes. I ended up buying a Dot when I was looking for a 335-style since it was a satin finish, though it is a smoother, cabinet-like satin finish and not a grainy one like my SG Faded. Now if only this was in the smaller 339 size; that is my favorite style of guitar and right around the perfect size in my opinion. The Dot is a bit too large for my preference though I like having it around to change things up occasionally, but I would love to buy an open-grain 339 if one was available. :)

I think it's understandable the action would be too low... coming from Indonesia to N.A. is a huge drop in humidity. Unless they were set up in a temperature and humidity controlled shop, the neck would have moved in both directions during its nice long wait between manufacture and shipping. Results vary on your particular location and/or environmental control.

I don't think you can compare an Eart with a Firefly, as the price difference is huge. I think this is really what one might call a lower-spectrum/mid-price guitar, as opposed to a "cheap import" guitar (I know - semantics). But you did a great review here, hitting the points that matter most. I'd like to own one of these, but having already saturated my environment with Chinese imports, it feels like I'd be spinning into the tone-junkie free-fall. Maybe if I sell off three Firefly FF338's I will try the Eart E335. But then Epiphone will counter with something thing that we "must have," see? And Ibanez already prices their Artcore (which ain't bad) at $400.

EART BLOWS away Harley Benton, Firefly, etc….by a large margin

While not really my style, that guitar is pretty damn cool. Looks beautiful too.

I like how the headstock narrows in a little. Just so you know that string angle isn't so sharp. It's good looking also and i love the satin finish. Just always a little shocking to see someone shreadin a hollow body

    Wait,
    2.3 kilometers?
    Just kidding
I’ve been wanting this guitar to give to my dad ever since I first saw an EART played by Enzo Taves and yourself and Darrell Braun and actually many others.
But. You really sold me on this 335 Eart Version

A log of Ibanez models do that on their truss rod covers as well.

I wanted more information about the company EART, where they are located (probably China or Indonesia) and what does EART stand for ,if anything....(earth?? maybe)

      @GuitarMAXMusic  2 года назад +1

Good questions. I believe it's a Chinese company. I don't think the name stands for anything. I think it's just one of those naming ideas where they start with "art" and then add a letter to make it different.

EART E335 would compete well with similar Epis. Probably built in identical nearby factories. Asian guitars are good! I have some Epiphones I'm happy with but would look seriously at EART in the future for a semi hollow like this one.

My Epiphone 335 weighs 9 lbs. A nice guitar but heavy. A 6lb version sounds great. Also the Epiphone's neck is THICC. A light and easy fretted shredder sounds appealing.

Yep, I picked up a red 335 Grote off of CL, that was played for 1 color coordinated gig. So, basically new, for $160, and with very minimal fret and setup work, it's one of my favorites. (and I've got some great vintage stuff). Just ordered one of these for the SS frets alone. Worth the $200 upgrade to me. Love 335's !

Not really! I wish there was one. I think the Gus G models are the most affordable ones there are. There's the Jackson Warrior of course but that's not exactly the same.

every other review of thus guitar I have seen said the neck was roasted maple, which I tend to believe based on the look of the grain.
