It's always "is your houseplant doing this? Well, it can be an indication of this, the opposite or so many other things", but the reason why this video is helpful is that it lists most if not all of them, the ways to investigate if that's the problem and ways to fix it. Knowledge is power as they say.
I recently over fertilized my plants and didn’t know what I should do from there . I had never made this mistake before. Over the last few days and week they are progressively getting worse with more and more leaves turning yellow. Almost my entire plant that I’ve kept for years look almost completely dead. Super bummed. Thanks for the info, I’ll try repotting. ✌️
Thank you, that was so informative and so easy to understand for beginners. I appreciated you getting down to the point and I think it really helped that you had a real yellow leafing plant in front of you as a good example.
So to sum things up it could be overwatering, underwatering, too much light, not enough light, not enough soil, too much soil, not enough fertilizer, too much fertilizer. 😂 I know this is all true and useful information…it’s just always funny to hear it back to back.
My peace lily was root bound and so I outpotted it. Fast forward a couple of weeks it's still pretty unhappy with yellowing leaves. It's in the same spot it was before, but previously it was doing glorious with loads of flowers. Have I shocked it from the repot? I've recently trimmed off the yellow leaves as advised in your video. I'm more of an underwater-er than over waterer being honest! Any other advice that may bring it back? Thank you.
Most of my house plants sit in brown plastic saucers & I usually put water in that when the plant sucks it up & stops after a while, I pour away the excess. Is that good or bad?
That’s so crazy. I never realized peace lilies could get that dry. It doesn’t even look very droopy? I now know what I did to mine… I definitely overwatered it. I want to give it another go… I love them! I had a domino peace lily that was absolutely gorgeous, boy did I overwater that thing… And quickly! It didn’t take no time before that thing just wilted and died. And I made the mistake of adding more and more water the more it drooped. 😭
best rule of thumb is to dig your finger in a few inches to feel for moisture before you even think of watering, something that helped me as a recovering over-waterer is to mist my plants instead of watering them when i get the urge, misting does barely anything but it makes me feel good and my terrarium plants love it.
Can the roots on a root bound plant, be cut down, instead of enlarging the plants pot? Do to space, I don not have room for bigger pots..thus my question..Thanks!!
Sheffield Made Plants i just re-potted my vine plant. She is pretty big and long. However she came apart when i took her out of her last pot. So i just re-planted her as best i could. Now the leaves are turning yellow. However there are still bright healthy green leaves as well. What do i do to help it? I don’t want it to die
Sir Richard🌴...today, I found a few yellow leaves on two on my Scindapsus Picture Exotica plants and sort of panicked, so I went back to review your video about yellowing leaves. I cut them off, and I must say that since I watered them last week, they have been in rather dark corners since it's been so overcast here lately especially with the shorter days. I find that every moisture meter I had has been unreliable. This is the 3rd one I purchased, so I am done with buying them. LOL! Also, are you ever concerned about stabbing the roots of your plants with the meter? I am.😆🌱
@@SheffieldMadePlants Oh okay. LOL! Perhaps you are more gentle than I am with it.🤣 When I started keeping house plants nearly 40 years ago, there was no such thing as a moisture meter, so you can imagine how many plants I killed by overwatering. I got some issues with my newest plant sadly. It's a Frydek Variegata, and its leaves are starting to yellow( not the edges, or tips but segments of the leaves), I'm kind of sure I didn't overwater, I repoted to make sure the roots are fine. but its drooling and also having guttation drops on the leaves. It arrived two weeks ago and it's getting worse slowly I think. There are no pests for sure either I checked. Can you recommend anything?@SheffieldMadePlants
Alocasia Frydek? Sounds like it’s going dormant from a lack of light. Is it getting darker where you are? Guttation isn’t normally anything to worry about. My frydek did this last winter and came back in spring. Are the corms still nice and firm?
@@SheffieldMadePlants Yes, Alocasia Frydek. It's getting much darker here yes. But it's under growth lights for 9hours). The corns were in good condition as well when, I repoted.
