Light falls darkness rises Destiny story is going to take a new route
It truly does feel like the spiritual successor to the Taken King now. Whilst the track does utilise the same undertones from TTK (the grandiose and booming ones) there’s still this eeriness that they’ve managed to mix in that makes it feel unique. Can’t wait to have this as the menu music for the next year.
The first thing I thought was “this sounds just like regicide” which is the taken king theme.

This is crazy. You can hear so many influences from the last season's within it and the theme of the darkness. And then of course destiny's theme, everyone recognises but in a disturbed way.

It's the darkness from Mars, before becoming the Witch Queen. Which makes sense, since we got back to Mars temporarily to pursue Savathûn.

It really shows how the guardians know like “oh crap we’re in big trouble” because there are HIVE GUARDIANS
The Beyond Light theme was so lovely it took me a bit to warm up to this theme, but now every time I boot up the game I just sit here and listen to it until it ends. Every theme just has more and more layers and describes the mood and theme of the expansion perfectly. The best kind of music makes you feel things, and this is super evocative of what WQ is all about.
So Savathüns song is actually in a few soundtracks! It’s pretty “hidden”. But if you listen closely you can hear it. It’s also reversed I believe in this track. Maybe a symbol of her switch to the light. This is coming from the new lord book Martian Missives. Each mistake in the text of the book can actually be correlated into a sequence, which turns into… musical notes! So much detail in everything about this dlc, I love it.

To me, What this can be taken as, is the path we are traveling, and eventually, we must brave the inevitable.
Nice catch on the Beyond Light one.
The motif here isn't really too recognizable because we didn't hear the the 2 pick-up notes before the Scottish Snap melody, but it does make sense if you add them there yourself.
Also interesting feature: the opening motif is (quite literally) a "sister motif" to "Regicide" in Taken King.
Savathûn's theme is the sister of Oryx's theme.

The inclusion of Guardian and Be Brave can be in reference to us, the Guardian, as those are motifs that are often associated with us. Being Brave enough to confront Savathun and survive the truth. Those two themes also fit within the context of Savathun's theme because she has the Light, so in a way those themes can apply to her as well

I honestly hated that menu theme. It had really bad start. It did get bit better after that, but when you hear the bad bits only when starting the game...

I love the relationship to oryx's theme given that savathun and oryx are both siblings. However now, they added in the darkness pyramid motif which shows that now we have both savathun and the pyramids to worry about. Whereas before, only oryx was our major worry

Whomever Bungie hired for WEAPON DESIGN/ ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN & MUSIC COMPOSITION are making this game a AAA. Awesome job guys, this is the type of game we have people talk about having BETTER music THAN a Universal studio movie.

This is one of the few soundtracks I've heard that hits as hard as the start of Mass Effect 3's
Ngl I already miss this title screen music. Don’t get me wrong, the new one is nice, but this was probably my favorite ever, and it somehow managed to not get stale, even after a year
The only time I don't enjoy this song, is when the game kicks me to the main menu due to, "Connectivity Isuues", 5 times in 10 minutes. Really love the sound of this song.

I love that every segment is broken up by stings from Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and I think Grasp? I could be wrong on that last part. But a very fitting and powerful theme for the culmination of years of storytelling
Thats our theme, the reason it sounds in Grasp is because it is a reference to Be Brave OST from D2
We waited extra long for this season and it didn't disappoint
3:38 I like how the Beyond Light motif is heard here. Remember we got Inner Light as a motif back in vanilla D2, after the Beyond Light expansion released and now with Witch Queen, that motif is still played in the tower in addition to Inner Light. I think its going to be a new motif moving forward from here on out. Both motifs clearly represent strength from within. One representing the light and the other, the dark.

hey bungo, you probably won't read this but i just gotta let you know you really knocked it out of the park with this dlc. the gameplay, story, music, the new areas-- they are all top tier and everyone in the community noticed. looking forward to the rest of the season and of course light fall and final shape.
