Great recipe. I make Swedish meatballs frequently. I’ve never used my IP for this will give it a try. On a side note, I use a little sour cream and Worcestershire in my gravy.
I LOVE that you left the drop in this video. I laughed so hard. I really enjoy watching you do your videos. But this one, this one has got to be the best.

Not to sound too corney but i was praying for help and shortly after your video for mac and cheese ended up in my autoplay.Three years later i have two instant pots, never miss a video and i still do most of the cooking. Thanks for all you do especially your simple instructions and your humor.
Jeff, you are lucky I'm not standing right besides you! I would give you the biggest thank you hug. We also go to that "Store" for both their stuff and most of all their MEATBALLS. 🤪😝🥰🤩
You are SOOOO cute!, and your posts are sooo right on! Really enjoy learning from you, as your posts introduced me to the Instant Pot (gave me the courage to overcome the fear). Richard is a doll too! Thanx for all you do, to help folks use the pressure cook tool. Luv your recipes, and their results.
I made this last night. 36 meatballs. I didn't have onion powder (none in the supermarket) so substituted a finely chopped shallot instead. 6 meatballs each for my son and myself, served over a bed of spiral pasta. I stuck at the 6th meatball so my son ate it. Now got 2 lots of 12 in the freezer so just have to make fresh pasta, rice or whatever. I will definitely be making these again. Thanks Jeff for another great recipe.
I use nutmeg instead of allspice, I believe this is what originally they use in Sweden. And they add a bit of vinegar into the meat to give that authentic Swedish meatball flavor. All together is a wonderful combo. Thank you for a delicious recipe.
@@linusblom2 i watched one swedish grandma cooking the old way, she said they used to do that in the old days, and now when they have fresh meat all the time, she still puts some vinegar for the old good flavor of her childhood. So, I just commenting what the authentic Swedish grandma from Sweden shared on the cooking show. And I did try doing that, it did give a surprisingly good flavor and ever since I continue that Swedish grandma's recipe. You should try that too🥰
Jeff - I found your Channel a couple of weeks ago after finally getting my first instant pot. Thank you being so wonderful and fun to watch. I can tell you're an amazing human being and I truly appreciate your personality. Thank you for giving me such a variety to feed my family. As a nurse, a wife, mother and avid outdoor lover I stay so busy these receipes are a total life saver. Again, thank you so much for being you!
Absolutely love ikea! First thing we do is go up to eat Swedish meatballs. And that lingdon berry jam. I spent most of my time in the kitchen department, always grab tealights.
Can't wait to try this one, looks absurdly delicious! Love your recipes! Will serve over steamed cauliflower rice to cut the carbs. And use arrowroot instead of cornstarch. Thanks Jeffrey!
Hi Jeffrey! I’ve been watching you for years and just love your recipes and your sense of humor! I’ve never been to an ikea but have heard about their meatballs and wonder how they compare with my MorMor’s (Swedish grandmother). I’m going to have to try this recipe because I only make her recipe at Christmas which entails frying each of those little buggers and takes about 6 hours, I make at least 150-200 balls and go through lots of butter. The recipe is about the same as yours except for the gravy. Can’t wait to see how they taste without being browned first! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this Jeffrey; I make Swedish Meatballs at least a couple of times a year, but on the stove top. I am excited to give the IP a try. As another suggestion, and what I have done to lighten up meatballs and meatloaf is to do beef and ground chicken thigh meat. It is amazing how well it works. Yes, I LOVE the usual trifecta of meats but in trying to eat a bit healthier and lower fat I have given this method a try with remarkable success.
I really never comment, but today I am going to. I have cooked several of your recipes. Today I made your Swedish meatballs. They turned out amazing. They tasted exactly how a Swedish meatball should taste. I used 1lb. of 80/20 hamburger and 1 lb. of sweet Italian sausage. The one thing I changed and I think for the better was I seared the meatballs first to give them color. Awesome dish. Thank you.
I am definitely going to make this today except I'm going to add some sour cream to mine. I am so glad that I found your recipe Jeffrey because I was going to do it the hard way in a frying pan🫣
Thank you for not making me go to that furniture store again! I usually end up with sore feet, a new knife- which I really didn't need- and a full stomach. My excuse was always to go and "browse". Did it for the meatballs.
Jeffrey, I logged on this morning to find a meatball recipe and lo and behold, this was on my home screen waiting for me! I made a double batch tonight using brisket trim (i.e., all beef) and it is DELICIOUS! Thank you!
Definitely a fan of IKEA furniture and their cafeteria menu.🤩😍 Always leave with a few bags of frozen meatballs and a few jars of lingonberry jam. I’ve got one jar left, excited to try this recipe.👏🏽👏🏽 Love all of your recipes we’ve tried so far!💃🏻🎉 Hoping to find your cookbooks at my local B&N.👀 Blessings.🕊🥰🙋🏻♀️💜tfs
These look good. But I keep thinking that I might like my balls a bit browner. 😅. I'm wondering if after I cook them in the instant pot I could broil them a bit. Also -and I may be weird-and I'm sorry Jeffrey-but I hate the feel of ground beef on my hands. I wear plastic or nitrile gloves when I'm working with ground beef.
@@PressureLuck I don't care for the kind with the lever that swipes the meat out, but I like to do a quick spray of release into the bowl of the plain disher before scooping and I find the meat comes right out. A quick wash after, and done. To each their own, though.
Went to Ikea a few months ago. Sadly, by the time we'd got everything we wanted, the meatballs were off the menu. I have one question. There is only myself and my adult son. Usually I make full quantities and freeze what we don't use for later. Can these meatballs and their gravy be frozen?
The gravy/meatballs can be frozen for sure. I wouldn’t recommend freezing the egg noodles though, even combined with the sauce/meatballs. They will become mushy upon reheating :)
@@CadaverBuffet It was just the meatballs and gravy. I prefer making fresh pasta or rice as they don't take long to cook. Meatballs on the menu this week 😋
I’d like to give some constructive criticism … but I’m not sure this is the place to do it. (P.S. I forward most recipes/tutorials to many people…I’m not a hater…)
I only been once in Ikea and hated the layout of the store, by passed the food court, never been back and it's been 17 years. From what I have seen on videos and what friends say, fur iture sucks and the only thing they give a high rating is the meatballs. Which IMO isnt worth wasting about $12 worth of gas and time to stand in line, just to buy meatballs.

Swedish meatballs are typically fried and not containing garlic, but there's no right or wrong really. Looks delicious either way!
Made these and the are wonderful. Will make again very soon. Enjoy all your recipes!

I just bought one, haven’t used it yet.
It did come with the trivet.
I’m gonna go for it. I love Swedish meatballs. Thanks
Hi. I made them , right NOW. Very delish. Thanks. First time making Swedish Meat Balls. !!! Will do again. 😊
Swedish meatballs and gravy are fantastic over mashed potatoes. A tasty little add to for your dry spices is a half tsp of ground ginger.
I go to IKEA just for the Swedish Meatballs, too! And the open-face shrimp sandwich. I can’t wait to make this!

I am allergic to beef. Is there something I can use to substitute the beef broth and beef gravy.
yummy

What do you do when you don't have trivet or a basket?
thank you for not putting in dem damn MUSHROOMS in this receipt!
Looks delicious. Going to make those tonight. By the way, the link to your Amazon store doesn’t work. I get the sorry message with the dog
I used to add sour cream.
What else do you use the steamer basket for?
Have you thought about using a #50 round disher/scoop to form your ping pong sized meatballs? It might be a little more efficient.
I actually find those scoops way more cumbersome, more time, more work and more messy than just rolling it in your hands. 🤷🏻♂️
