- A bit of a deep dive into banjo flipping and how I think of it. A bit rambly at times, so my apologies.
Here is a link to everyone I mentioned in this video. RUclips channel, or otherwise.

"Not good at teaching" he says before proceeding to make the best instructional video on the subject. I had no idea how to strum up the fret board like that. Within a couple minutes of practice it's second nature. Guess it was too much to hope you'd play Rooster Crow though, but thanks anyway.
Yes, sir! 🪕
Uncle Dave is my cousin by marriage, and I have been trying to work on doing this, thank you so much!
Excellent presentation on how to do the monkeyshines! I’ve been practicing them for years, and I couldn’t explain it any better myself.
So modest - you’re a great teacher !
I've love for you to teach "Don't get Weary", I've love that old UDM song for years. Your a good teacher actually!
Found you through this video. I gotta say, the way you played that snippet of "dont get weary children" with that banjos specific tone and tuning sounds very, very good. It mixes perfectly. You definitely should make a cover of that song in that exact fashion. Keep up the good work.
Perfect amount of rambling. This is a great tutorial my friend
You are the king! Thanks for making the banjo even cooler than it already is. Greetings from Australia.
I'm a guitarist but I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Everything was very well explained and entertaining. Thanks for the video!
Guitars are for sure flippable!! Charlie Poole apparently used to do it. There’s a few guitar flippers around! Same concept you just don’t have a dowel rod
Thanks so much!
DAMN ERN IS COUNTING
I ate my favorite flavor crayon after I recorded this as a little treat
You sir are criminally underrated
You’re the shit I tried flipping mine for a bit when I first came across your other instructional vid.. guess I oughta just keep at it. I’d like to learn a few moves myself. Look up my friend Kyle wood. He is a banjo songster and banjo builder who can do those flips and stuff to! He’s good at putting on a performance in public aswell.
Leroy Troy makes it look so easy! 😂great lesson, thanks for sharing
Matt Kinman is a great example of this style
You're a master banjo player 💫thank you for the lessons.
Great vid! And you are good are teaching. Very clear and the links in the description are much appreciated
Hey I love the editing here. very informative and engaging!
Nice job on the explanation--that was really helpful.
Great vid. Thanks. I had a little go at spinning a while back on one of my videos but haven't really practiced much since. You've shown me a little extra to get practicing with (also I did it with a kentucky style mountain banjo which is pretty heavy)
Great stuff, awesome channel
That was a great explanation for all of that!
Amazing!
Absolutely brilliant, cheers from New Zealand. Just subbed
Thanks for this masterclass!
Underrated channel. Keep it up and time for a better camera.
ps. ya forgot to put the names you mention in your description.
Thanks! I think you are right. I am just using my iPhone and iMovie. haha
fixed the description!! sorry about that! appreciate the heads up
😊
👍👍🕋
Great video! I see dropped banjos in my future... ;o)
I find it easier to buy them cheap and sell them at at a profit.
lmfao
Bro. Once you know, you're not supposed to teach it.
That train of thought is the very reason why traditions die

Just bought a fretless and this came up on my RUclips suggested videos. I'm looking forward to getting to this level of playing.
