Can't stop watching. Truly inspiring stuff. Reminds of making a fire the way he plays, start with some kindling, get a few sparks, some smoke, two minutes later the fires blazing with an energy all its own.
I played violin though instead for 7 years against my will .I was just getting okay at playing it when the lessons got unaffordable for my Mum, and then I left home anyway when I was young at Fourteen years old.
Oh my God!!! These flips are crazily impressive!!! Also the last song gave me chills!!! Aaron seems like such a cool guy, thanks for featuring him on your channel!!
Great playing, and neat tricks !I could just about carry them tunes with my playing(I say just about!)..but if I tried the tricks, I’d lose it for sure !..
Wow that was an epic watch🎉 thanks so much for posting this! I was transfixed and it’s given me a couple of little ideas when I play the next Lincoln folk club night! There maybe some injuries 😂🪕
Flippy tricks that'd be the end of my banjo aside, I feel like this dude understands exactly what I love about old time music if these are the two songs he picked to perform on Clifton's channel. Coon dog is one of my all time faves, but just lost a lil' luster to Rooster Crow. His version of that song deserves a tutorial. Aaron broke down the flippy tricks on his channel. Y'all can learn how to drop your banjos, I just want to learn that song. How 'bout it there, Clifton? Aaron?
I can tell you that that banjo weighs nothing! I have a Calkins banjo and they are weightless. But his Gretsch has some weight. The trick is finding where the sweet spot is and keeping a good grip! I can do the same thing not as fancy though!
Awesome we enjoyed seeing Aaron Steven’s at Hagoodmill yesterday my son w/ special needs just loves Banjos and I videoed your session for him to enjoy at home. We were there all day enjoying the festivities and Daddy’s Cookout FoodTruck ❤🪕🪕🪕🪕
Man, it’s like watching Uncle Dave Macon play
I about dropped that damn thing
The recovery was nice. Never saw someone do the flip without holding the dowel
Thank you! I only just recently started to omit the dowel grab with the flip! Definitely have to be more careful, but what can I say I like the RUSH
When I used to busk and had slow foot traffic the spin and flips were a secret weapon almost a kick for that everytime.
just subscribed to your channel , hope you keep em coming.
that was fantastic, thank you!!!
Good on ya man! I can't even hold a glass of water without spilling it, much less one of my banjos.
Uncle Dave Macon inspired. He was quite a showman. I'm glad to see a young person take that piece of history and run with it and keep it alive!
I tried to like this video twice haha thanks for sharing
I had to keep playing this to every friend, i have converted them all.
You are both very special talented men
I like when Aaron plays standing up replay lol.x
These flips are fucking insane. I’m showing this to everyone I know!!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Me too but still afraid to do it by myself
Obviously inspired by Leroy Troy!

Wanted a banjo and harp as a child growing up
I played violin though instead for 7 years against my will .I was just getting okay at playing it when the lessons got unaffordable for my Mum, and then I left home anyway when I was young at
Fourteen years old.
Wow! Leroy Troy would definitely approve! Thanks for sharing this. :-)
Aww shit. Now I know im going to break my banjo practicing that
This is great for Aaron. It keeps him out of trouble.
Anything to keep my baby out these streets. Out all night running wild, woman sitting home with a one month child, DANG ME.
Thank you for preserving the spirit of this kind of thing

Oh my God!!! These flips are crazily impressive!!! Also the last song gave me chills!!! Aaron seems like such a cool guy, thanks for featuring him on your channel!!
Brilliant! Never seen the banjo played like that before.

Watched it twice to make sure I had just seen what I seen! Gonna share this one with the friends and family.
Can you juggle three banjos at once? I got my money on it! 🎶🌞🎶
Sir, that is not a baton.
But if it was you'd definitely be a master at it 👍
Wow is that real. 🤣 Thanks
very nice indeed
fantastic!!!
Great playing, and neat tricks !I could just about carry them tunes with my playing(I say just about!)..but if I tried the tricks, I’d lose it for sure !..

I don’t know, holding my breath there a couple times 😅 awesome stuff.
Those close calls are written all over my face 😂
Getting some leroy troy vibes. And I love me some leroy troy.

Uncle Dave Macon,Leroy troy both do that Flippy trick very well
Fantastic!
This is awesome.
🙌🙌🙌
Im wondering what lesson we learn to do this in Cliff's Banjo Heritage classes? 😅 I may need to buy a toy banjo to practice my flips!
How light is that banjo?
It almost floats around! I can hold it by the headstock upright with one finger
This is darn good More songs pick that chicken pick it fast make sure you pick its ..... lol USA illinois
How does a banjo keep playing when he flips it around L o l
Banjo is tuned open so long as he bangs the strings it makes a chord.
I think he has a backup rhythm banjo behind the camera. (Like one guy plays rhythm while the other plays melody and sings)
I can tell you that that banjo weighs nothing! I have a Calkins banjo and they are weightless. But his Gretsch has some weight.
The trick is finding where the sweet spot is and keeping a good grip! I can do the same thing not as fancy though!
@@lordtachanka903 he pulls them with his middle finger on his left hand as it’s flipped
WoW! Great songs and performance! Double WOW how he flips that banjo all around and still keeping the song together! Amazing!
My dumbass would drop the banjo on Thoes flips
One wonders if he went through a couple before he got it down.
@@ProfesserLuigi I've hit my knee a few times doing the Uncle Dave under the leg flips and let me tell ya it fuckin hurts you and the banjo
Roscoe Holcomb
What is the tuning on the first banjo? I don't seem to recognize it.
Dave Macon Leroy troy
Hey guys? Have you thought about working with Abby the Spoon Lady?
Very fun style to watch and listen to! I love how loose Aaron is when he plays. Was this a festival? I'd love to attend if it goes on next year.
South Carolina Old-Time Fiddler's Convention at Hagood Mill Historic Site.
I really wanted to dislike this this but couldn’t 😂 kudos my friend kudos 👍
You lost it, but not in bad way
Why does this video attract people who need mattresses for fat people commercials? This new mattress has fat technology.
