You guys are both total legends.
Please keep these videos coming.. really trying to pick up the clawhammer and love learning some history along with!
What a marvellously erudite person. I am not a banjo aficionado and just happened upon this. A really interesting potted history. Thank you both.
Yeah Squash! Your northern family misses you!
Dang. Now I'm gonna have to get a fretless just to play that 1 song
Just discovered this video, Chance. Thank you, and J.P., for this insight into "Reuben's."
Man this is just 🤩
Man y'all kick ass come back to Washington.. Chance McCoy you're my boy
Sennheiser 441 is a fantastic microphone
On a session I put mine up to a U87 and did and A/B test.......we went with the 441. Only mic I have ever liked more is the vintage AKG CR 12 tube mic........if you could ever even afford one! My context if playing harmonica 50 years.
Awesome video, thank you.
Loved it!
Im sure I missed it but does anyone know the tuning he is using? Thank you!
Wow, I've never heard these 3rd and 4th verses. Like so many folk tunes, it got dark really quick. 🤣
heard those from the Holy Modal rounders back in the 1960s
The tuning is given at 11:00m. It is g C E G C
Thanks Naushad!
Whats the tuning here? Sounds like its dropped and octave
JP sounds like he can't wait to be an 80 year old man.
How can I buy a banjo JUST like that one? I cannot find one.
Rueben's Train tuning looks very similar to re-entrant ukulele tuning. Cool!
What's the name of the album that was recorded?
Someone get this man a pipe and a cowboy hat
Fretless gutstring banjo is Punk As F*ck! (PAF)
Lmao the OG punk 😂
Good voice , looks as if he could do with help from a psychiatrist.
