As of September 2021, they are getting them out fast. I ordered one on the Friday the 17th and it went out on Monday the 20th. Did you preorder yours? Now you get on a mailing list if they are out of stalk.
I use the X-touch one in a similar fashion. Using Bome Midi Translator you can give it a lot more functions. Like the STC selected track control (Volume, Pan, Sends, Rec Arm etc.) Feels great to have a big knob that controls everything you normally need a mouse for. :)
It has less resolution than using a mouse, though, and also it takes up a lot of space on your desk, especially if you have something plugged in. It is a nice feature, and probably good to try out if you have an Audient interface, but if you use it a lot, something with more control and options like the Nob Control would probably be a good upgrade.
I ordered one today! I hope to put out a video on it at some point. I also have an MP Midi controller on the way. I might regret getting both. I’ll also try to put a video on that also.
@@_justin_joe The MP Midi Controller is a 15” touch screen that has 32 Endless encoders surround the outside of it. My NOB shipped this morning! I ordered it on Friday and it when out today, nice! I think they were slow to ship in the past because they did preorders. Now you have to get on a notification list.
@@TimTim-fw1gl Yeah I had to waitlist for mine as well a while back as well. Was a few months if I remember correctly. That MP controller looks pretty insane. Would love to hear your comparison and opinion after you get the nOb and have used it for a bit.
How exactly does it work over knobs? Does it just emulate the mouse? If so, that means that using the mouse and the knob at the same time is impossible?
@@_justin_joe Looks like at :44 seconds, when you are controlling a parameter in Ableton, the cursor vanishes. But when you use a third party plugin it stays there. That's how it always is for me ... Not a huge deal but i love how the cursor vanishes haha. Love my nOb either way, maybe ill feature request to see if they can add it to NAC. Great vid! I subscribed, cheers
@@jesseharradine9861 I had to go back into Ableton to check it for myself in real time. And yes that seems to be a function for stock Ableton plugs as it does not to that when I tried it with 3rd Party plugs. Thanks for the Sub!
I've found it really hard to find good quality videos on this device. Been considering it for years. I'll likely be using it with Logic, Reason, Final Cut and Apple Motion. Base on the fact that it uses mouse control, I think this could be a good purchase for me.
I will be doing more videos on it for sure as it has countless uses. Mine sits above my desktop track-pad and I just go to it out of muscle memory now.
@@_justin_joe Sounds really good. Yeah, maybe also a video with real general use. Areas where you hadn’t thought about using it, but you’ve found additional uses for it.
I was not familiar with the CC121 from Steinburg until you mentioned it. But yes, it is exactly like that but just much larger! Did not know that there was anything else out there like that. Thanks for sharing!
I have both CC121 and nOb, the resolution of nOb is far superior and it doesn’t have the little “jump” that CC121 creates when you move the AI knob first. Would I get rid of my CC121? No.
You have to get on the waiting list as they are handmade and produce them in small runs (no obligations to be on this). I think it was around $200 USD when I bought mine a ways back but I heard that the price might have increased.
I think the price has changes since I purchased it so not sure what it is right now. I would just put your email on the waitlist as there is no obligation and they will reach out to you and let you know the price when they are available again
@@_justin_joe oh idk how soon I’m going to buy but I already know I want it. I spent the whole day looking for cheaper alternatives as it’s now around $300. I’m blown away by how simple of a concept this is but how little attention it gets. Just a knob using the input of a scroll wheel rather than MIDI. I’d never thought of it until seeing this.
orders just opened up and I purchased one per your recommendation. simple but awesome piece of gear, thank you for getting the word out about it!
You won’t regret it!!!
@@_justin_joe I already love this thing!
I waited about 4 months for mine to arrive! and i couldn't agree more!

The audient id14 MKII can do this as well, use the id button and use the scroll control wheel(works great)
That's a great all in one solution with the interface. Cool to know!

Hi, did you try the new Stream Deck Plus? Do the do the same job?
I have not. But would be interested to check it out
I’m pretty sure the StreamDeck’s knob resolution is nowhere near nOb.
But I can highly recommend a StreamDeck (any) + nOb combo. 👍
@@PuRe_AdDicT I am going to have to check that out for sure
@@PuRe_AdDicT The thing I really like about nOb is not assignments required, just put your mouse on it and move the nOb
I love havin that BIG knob. It’s hard to explain, unless you have your hand on it........hahaha🤣

That's pretty, I'm not mad at it👏🏾
How exactly does it work over knobs? Does it just emulate the mouse? If so, that means that using the mouse and the knob at the same time is impossible?
That is correct. It is moving the cursor with the nOb, so both are not possible at the same time.
Nice vid, how do you get your cursor to disappear when you adjust it ? Or is that an abelton feature? I'm using nOb with studio one! cheers
Thanks!
Could you tell me what timestamp you saw that happen at so I can better answer your question?

Can it emulate a double mouse click?
I do not believe so
