On behalf of all Fire Service Personnel. Beer comes in BOTTLES, Fish live in TANKS, GAS COMES IN CYLINDERS. Got that off my chest and feel so much better. Great site (vlog) really enjoying it
Good to see the gas finally in and working. I'd have a rethink about your bottle strategy if I were you - I'd run on the 13kg and use the 6kg to keep you going until you can get a 13kg refill. Switch back to the 13kg one when replaced and relegate the 6kg back to backup duties...
That is definitely NOT, the way to do it! 👎 13kg in use, runs out. Use 6kg and replace/refill 13kg. When 6kg empty change to 13kg and replace/refill 6kg. Simple, and, your spare is always full and of a known capacity. Ideally, both cylinders should be of equal size and capacity.
James - love your videos. I've watched them all. But, and I mean this most sincerely...... You're on episode 135. Time to get your microphone sorted out.
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear James, happy birthday to you. Have a great day. Present is on its way but Amazon said delivery was 13/14/15 March! Not giving anything away but it is grey and has two arms. ENJOY x
Significant strides forward lately James, you must be delighted. The inside looks great but that stern area needs covering properly. winter ain't over yet.
I love the homespun painted look, especially on older/renovated boats. You can completely change the look of the place with a different colour when it needs freshening up. Some of the boats have expensive wood fit outs but make me think of coffins . . . . . it's the shape maybe! Bamboo is nice though. :)
Must be great to have that hob working at last. And the walls are losing their 'just put in' appearance and beginning to look more like a home. You must be very pleased!
Looking really good. You'll soon be moving down the cut at the rate you're going. The hob cover should act as a gas cut off and hence extra safety and also act as a splashback.
Hi James another good vlog just thought I might say that I always use a white Matt emulsion as a primer undercover works great and costs next to nothing.I personally would use the 6kg bottle as a reserve as the price of a refill is almost the same as a 13kg bottle also not all places or fuel boats on the canal keep the 6kg size
Here again I am in agreement with a post ! I have never seen fuel boats or marinas supplying 6kg’s usually used in caravans and campers ! As Big says only use the 6kg as the reserve ! The smaller the bottle the dearer the refills are !! 13kg’s are far more easier to source !!
Hi Jamie keep um coming the vlogs and if you get a chance because of condensation and close to you water tank get yourself a dry mat to go under your bed they realy help ok stay safe 👍
I would respectfully suggest you paint the inside of your cupboards white like the rest of the galley. When you fill the shelves, the area will become dark and will make sorting contents difficult, especially at night or without natural light on gloomy days..... just a suggestion.
@@YallAintRight I currently do concert video, but I've been a concert sound engineer since I was 15... So I have a bit of experience with wireless microphones.

Ok, the undercoat (primer) is white, will the final color also be white or will you surprise us? Wood (Mahogany, oak or etc...) trim around the hatch, windows and roof panel seams would contrast nicely. ;-) She's getting there, slowly but surely.
Check that cooker lid doesn’t operate a gas switch off device . If it does, you might (not certain) but you might find it doesn’t pass a gas safety inspection if you have removed it. I don’t know for sure about boats, but worth checking that I’m wrong before you frisbee the lid out of the window.
that wood standoff below the locker is very hinky they make a very nice standoff for exactly that purpose. someone that does a neat job where it will essentially never get seen; is the best.
Great vlog as always James, though I must say the bit towards the end was like watching paint dry! 😉 Glad to see things are eventually on the boil for you. Had to laugh when I heard you say swindlers! Some of those chandlers are bloody rip-off merchants, ready to pry on the uninitiated, i.e., people new to the boating fraternity, and scoop as many pennies as they can from their wallets. Well, at least you’re cooking on gas!
I hadn't asked what you were going to call it because I thought you might be waiting till you left for London, I have been trying to guess what it is. Please don't call it "Spagbol" 😄 only joking, when we get our boat it will have a tongue twisting name, but that's not for a while yet.
Good vlog.. how is the gas locker secured to the steel work ?.. incidentally, thought the test point was supposed to be as close as practically possible to the appliance.. ie. after the shut off valve..
Hi James, I discovered you channel with ep. 130 and spent the last week thoroughly enjoying binge watching everything from the start. Although I have a question for you. What are you planning to do about the joins of the ceiling panels, they do look a bit unsightly. Cheers
Whichever it is, if he's planning on running an instant water heater with a decent output, it's too small. It needs to be 15mm minimum from the regulator to the water heater.
The water heater if I do go for one would be running on separate pipes and possibly from an additional locker too. These are 8mm pipes and as Sarkybugger says - too small for the heater
James, have a look at "Ausie boater's" latest video, it's only 1;49 long. He has just got himself a new fridge. Its a proper 240v one. They are much cheaper than boat ones and it's got a nice freezer compartment. I don't understand the different electrics AC, DC but he explained it well.
A 240 v fridge will mean having inverter on 24/7 . Ok if your hooked up to mains most of time. If you're continually cruising 12v DC for as many appliances as you can will help to conserve electricity.

Love the making tea with a knife and the half ton of tea bags. Enjoying the progress on the boat.
It is looking much better with the top walls in. I think I would be tempted to use the big gas bottle and just use the small one for emergency use.

I think the small gas bottle should be the reserve. Just use the small one when you take the main empty bottle for replacement.
That's a sure way to eventually find the small bottle empty and unable to supply your needs, until a replement can be obtained!
