Such a joy to see coming along, I will be both happy and sad to see it completed I think as I've learned and enjoyed watching you create this and the diy aspect is brilliant for me personally. I hope 1 day I get to sit on my own narrowboat after emptying it and going through your videos 1 by 1 and following you myself. Enjoy your biscuits this evening with your brew and until tomorrow chap...stay safe
Morning James. A double episode 👍🏻 Its like a Netflix series link lol 😆 The inside is looking really good. Proper cooking is coming 😋 Like me in my lorry as I had a cheese omelette for my T last night 🤣 Take care buddy. Cheers Stevie.
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt hi James. Yes a camping stove and a lovely diesel heater 😆 I’m only using my stove because of lock down otherwise I’d be out and about for a hot meal 👍🏻
James what a huge difference the walls have made ! Would make a difference to the warmth and outside noise, which wouldn't be much anyway. Well done you !
The paneling makes the boat interior larger somehow, certainly warmer. Looking good! So looking forward to the completion, though no more than you! Cheers from Florida!
Looking great your on the final approach of the interior now pat yourself on the back im so chuffed for you cant wait to see you cruising, wont be long now 👍😊
Looking great James. I don’t know if you can spray paint your aluminum window frames or not. I’ve done it with items that I don’t like the colour of or just to make them unique to me. My combo is a light bronze with a very light random dusting spay of copper, makes it look like mica , you could do it in black to match the stove or silver to match the aluminium. Probably a warmer weather thing.
Looking good and coming together nicely. With reference just go to any calor dealer and pay the extra for the "rental" of the bottle and get the bottle size you need. Otherwise just look on Ebay or local selling pages and get any calor bottle. You dont need to return the same size bottle as you want.
Mmmmh I was looking at the port side by the cooker. What about some little drawers under the gunwales? That would solve the lines not being level? It will give you more storage space in the galley.
Looking much better and more homely now is the interior. Regarding the dinette's design, have a look at a recent Well Deck Diaries vlog to see their boat tour. The rear seats on their dinette are reversable to provide extra saloon seating. Might be a option for you. Good luck there.
For the window trim. resin mixed with Qsail. witch is micro-glass bubbles, makes a water proof filler. like glazing paddy for glass pains in wooden frame
Does the local hardware store sell stamps?? BTW, James, I hope it won't sound insulting if I say it's fascinating to watch your precise and meticulous work arising out of the general chaos that surrounds you!
Great to see the walls up, well done! I thought you were planning on using the space under the gunwale at the back of the kitchen worktop? Looks like you’ve got a water/grime trap now.
Heh. I think every bit of putty filler I've applied has cracked with how much my boat shifts and expands, with the steel it pulls the wood every which way. Be interesting to see how it holds up I use beading or trim now to hide the joins now. I used 6mm oak faced ply for mine. Looks good, nice to see her coming along.
Your doing a great job, but cant understand you dont finish a job then forget about it. and start on the next fitting still crack on be nice to see the end as im sure you will be and enjoy the cut
You can just buy a full bottle of gas instead of trying to find an empty one. We got ours from a garage if you can't find anywhere on the cut willing to sell you one
Wow, you certainly don't hang about, You are doing a good job, hopefully the gas man don't let you down. have you made up your mind on the outside colour ?
I would agree with this, you just pay a premium on the first bottle(s) and then exchange subsequent ones. You bottle (colour) just needs to match your gas requirements and type of regulator.
One concern I have and I'm sure you thought of, is capturing the windows thus having to tear out the framing (& walls) around them for repair or to install better windows? In short; are those windows removable from the outside? ;-)
We had the same issue last summer and just bought 2 empties on FB (for £10 I think). It was actually a godsend and ended up significantly cheaper than starting with new, full ones as you don’t pay the new ‘deposit’.
Hey James! Congratulations are in order. Five thousand subscribers for your channel, and it's my birthday. The Big Six-O.
All the best, mate.
Really taking shape now James, looking great, nice one
Looking like home now. So much better with the walls up.

Great to see your hard work is finally turning out into fruition James. Look forward to when you start cruising down the cut.

Morning James. A double episode 👍🏻 Its like a Netflix series link lol 😆 The inside is looking really good. Proper cooking is coming 😋 Like me in my lorry as I had a cheese omelette for my T last night 🤣 Take care buddy. Cheers Stevie.
Do you have a fixed stove in your lorry or is it a camping stove. I think your lorry would have a webasto diesel heater too!
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt hi James. Yes a camping stove and a lovely diesel heater 😆 I’m only using my stove because of lock down otherwise I’d be out and about for a hot meal 👍🏻

James, what happens between the ceiling panels where the don”t fit flush with their neighbour?
Look on Facebook market place, you can get full and empty gas bottles on there cheap, keep up the good work ,looking great
Your doing a great job, but cant understand you dont finish a job then forget about it. and start on the next fitting still crack on be nice to see the end as im sure you will be and enjoy the cut
Go to B&Q they sell the full bottle but you do pay extra as a deposit on the bottle itself
two in one day? You are spoiling us. Is it time to think about a fridge?
Well I like to surprise !!
Fridge is now sorted thanks to a birthday gift from parents 🙏🙏🙏
Hi James
What are you going to do with all the steps in the ceiling ?
I’ll be covering the seams with 1.5mm brushed stainless steel strips
How come no narrow boat seem to use double layered insulated glass windows? I mean, if insulation and retaining heat is so important.
I think some have double glazing but it’s hugely expensive.
New builds do, retrofitting is overly expensive. Apparently condensation is still an issue regardless, depending on heat source etc.
Used to live in a village shop that sold gas. You just pay a higher price if you're not returning a bottle.
Did you get the pictures on the doors cleared up from spray foam?
You can just buy a full bottle of gas instead of trying to find an empty one. We got ours from a garage if you can't find anywhere on the cut willing to sell you one

I thought you could buy a full gas bottle, you just have to pay extra for the bottle. At least, that is the way it used to operate.
I would agree with this, you just pay a premium on the first bottle(s) and then exchange subsequent ones. You bottle (colour) just needs to match your gas requirements and type of regulator.
I could probably do with that blow heater, I’m landing next to your old spot on Friday, come give us a knock if u like
James your gas bottle problem if you still need one and you are coming to London soon will be able to give you I gas bottle
One concern I have and I'm sure you thought of, is capturing the windows thus having to tear out the framing (& walls) around them for repair or to install better windows?

I think I might have 2 x13kg calor bottles with gas if you are Interested
Lawrence
The post office ???????
You buy a full gas bottle and when you replace it you only pay for the gas
💙👊😎
Facebook and Gumtree are full of Calor gas bottles empty also full or part used
We had the same issue last summer and just bought 2 empties on FB (for £10 I think). It was actually a godsend and ended up significantly cheaper than starting with new, full ones as you don’t pay the new ‘deposit’.
Hey James, looking good. Is that 9mm thick plywood you attached to the upper walls?
Yes, 9mm hardwood ply - same as lower walls. 5.5mm on ceiling
