Boxing Day Beach Bash - watch me nearly lose my drone as I race to catch it in the surf

The forecast for Christmas, meant it was the season to stay at home in front of the fire, except Boxing day, which looked like it might be fisheable. So a few days before, in the hope that the forecast was correct I bought a couple of wraps of worms, by Boxing day they were a bit stinky.
The fish didnt seem to mind, it was fish every cast (bar one).
I also was able to try my new toy, a Hover X1. on its maiden flight , it gave me a big scare , when it suddenly decided to try and land in the sea, and if it wasnt for some fast reactions by me , it would have been its first and only flight.

yes i prefer getting out on the boat, but the weather has not been kind, not long and there should be some pollack on the wrecks fingers crossed

I'm from Eastbourne and have been fishing here for the last couple years when I get the chance between college/university. I also watch you and Tony's videos when I can and have learnt a lot (Still a long way to go though!).
I go to the University of Portsmouth, where I study Journalism, and one of my assignments I have to complete is writing an article involving people our local area, and I thought your work making RUclips videos would be a really nice thing to write about.
Was just wondering if you were fishing in the next week or so, and if maybe could I join you to ask a few questions about your channel (and probably catch a few whiting!). Completely understand not wanting a 20 year-old going with you but would really help me out.

Glad you enjoyed it, yeah it was a close shave, afterwards I reallised Id thrown £1100 worth of rod and reel on the ground to rescue a £300 drone, luckily nothing was damaged, not long and there should be some Pollack about

I think it didnt like landing on an uneven surface, you are meant to catch this particular type, I have a Mavic Air that decided to go submarine , a couple of years ago, they make a sickening sound as they hit the water
Why do fisherman and you walk away from rod stand to cast ,i cast near my rod stand.
Casting up or down tide bud.
as Ben has said, there was a strong cross tide,running left to right so it paid to walk uptide to cast, otherwise your rig would end up the wrong side of the groyne
